I feel like the bengals have picked too many high upside project players with the last couple drafts especially in the defense department. Hopefully Dax hill, and Myles Murphy end up working out this year. I feel like the bengals should lean more towards nfl ready players who can contribute early especially if the bengals want to win soon.
Corner isn't a position of need for a first round talent. If any secondary position is taken in the first it's going to be Safety, unless there's a CB available that they didn't expect to still be available and has too much value to pass on. We're most likely going Edge or interior Oline in the 1st. I could see us possibly taking a TE if there's a first round talent still on the board.
@ why not? They got gashed up the middle almost every game last year. They have young defensive ends that barely played because Anaroumo wanted to have Hubbard out there. A DT with pass rush and run stop ability can only help the defense as a whole.
@@c.s.4507 this is a crazy take he literally lead the NFL in sacks with no help from the tackle's he's actually underated and has a lot left in the tank
Bro you read my mind with Swinson! Either him or Umanmielen have to become Bengals in the first 2 rounds. I also think that instead of safety our 1 long term signing should be guard. Someone like Teven Jenkins or Mekhi Becton.
I think Tee is gonna get money close to Chase… Patriots/Commanders have crazy money available and like the point you made, they don’t have money available next few years. Also Commanders would be a better contending window… simply by the NFC not having the 4 Horseman
Bengals are looking for very specific players with pick 17: 1.) Pearce Jr. (ED) 2.) Williams (ED) 3.) Scourton (ED) 4.) Starks (S) 5.) Tyleik Williams/Kenneth Grant (DT) - where they go here will depend on who they pick up in free agency. I would like to see the Bengals go after Chase Young (ED), Stephon Gilmore (CB), Hernandez (G), Okorafor (G), and Blackmon (S) in free agency. If the Bengals pick up Chase Young in FA... they don't need to go Edge at 17... that frees them up to go Starks or Williams/Grant... providing them with that run stuffer to replace B.J. Hill with next season... I do think they have to re-sign Hill for the 2025 season... letting Rankins go.
Think of a scenario where the Bengals sign FA: Chase Young, Gilmore, Hernandez, and Blackmon... then draft Starks (17), Membou (49), Azareye'h Thomas (81), Tez Johnson (117)... I've gotten this draft outcome on multiple occasions.
The Volson cut is pointless. He's making a million dollars and the team still needs depth. Also, ADG isn't a starter. He's been a carrer special teamer and back up. He started this year after Logan Wilson went down. Also also, you kept mentioning Kirkland as a free agent, but he's an exclusive rights free agent.
Cutting Volson opens up 3 million, which allows even more flexibility for the bengals. He underperformed big time and is a position that needs an upgrade. ADG was a starter this year, hence why I said he’s a starter lol. And sure Kirkland is exclusive so got me there
@@MetroSportsYTOver the Cap has to be mistaken. Volson's salary for 2025 is only $1.1Million, meaning his cap hit would be around $1.25Million. $1.1 for an experienced rotational piece that's already familiar with the offense is worth keeping around, even on the off chance that he finally blossoms into a worthy starter. Cut Cappa, cut Pratt, cut Stone, cut Rankin's.
Bengals are not gonna invest any kinda money in a 32 yr old DT when they'd just resign BJ Hill to begin with who is a tad younger and better. I think Hill comes back on a 2 year deal and rorates with Jenkins next year because they will draft another DT in this draft ( Grant or Walker IMO) to set up the interior of the DL for years to come.
If we have to lose Higgins. Then we'll definitely need to lock down Gesici and either pick up a Wr in this draft whoch is a gamble or hope Isovas/ Jermaine Burton solidify themselves.
Letting a top position player on defense go AGAIN in Hilton is a mistake. He was a top 5 nickelback this year. Also Hubbard should be in these cuts Myles Murphy and Joseph Ossai both had better years after Hubbard went down
Reality is 30 million spent on Tee is 30 million not spent on defense or offensive line. Brady and Mahomes won their Super Bowls with different receivers every year. Chase and a supporting cast should be able to do it. No team can afford two number ones. It would be great to keep Tee, but we’ll never have a defense and we’ll continue to suck!
Just cause they spending on the oline and dline dont mean they will pan out. They spent on rankins and cappa and they didn’t pan out. rather then draft and develop with these new coaches coming in and You know what tee brings to the table tho!
@tmoneyman9901 are you serious? Please tell me you're not because Donovan Jackson is a guard playing tackle because of injuries. You have disqualified yourself to talk football. You know nothing.

“Aren’t the best interior offensive linemen” brother is being generous😂
Trying to keep things positive
Bengals guards were the 2 worst last season, especially Alex Cappa, literally anything is an upgrade sadly
@caseyp3879 our tackles look promising though

I feel the need for a pass Rusher outweighs DB/Secondary needs.
@Argos-xb8ek I agree
Sam Hubbard will get cut or restructured
If Hilton doesn’t resign Dax Hill will most likely get that job
Possibly

Depends who’s available in that spot
Kenneth Grant Michigan DT
@@mj2wavy651 my exact thoughts
Bengals will not extend Hendrickson that long. They don’t like 30+ age
Trey is an exception
He’s already injury prone and rarely gets sacks in game breaking moments. Maybe extend for 2 years max.

I would honestly like the Bengals to trade down far in the 1st round and take him in the late 20s and pick up an extra day 2 pick

Agreed
gotta cut Sam Hubbard too

100%😊
In the draft I’d go
Rd1 d line
Rd2 CB
Rd3 Guard
It's Myles Murphy not Byron fyi
I think Trey would take a 2 year 55 million dollar extension.
