Thanks for the comparison Andy, I'm also suffering with blanket weed, but I've managed to get the fish to spawn and the fry are hiding in it, so will leave it for now in the hopes they survive haha. I'm out of stock on eBay, but I'll be making more over the weekend to list. Like you said if people want to preorder, just drop me an email. Thanks again! , Ian
Hi mate I appreciate the gift and I hope the comparison video has help you with more sales and if you could keep me updated on the nexus version and when it's ready I will let people know about it. Andy 👍
On catch up Buddy, very well made products, effective and depending on the state of fines in your water use over a predetermined time scale. All perfectly demonstrated here in your vid. Nice update and well done Ian for producing these 👍
Good footage as always. Sorry did not chat at Newark said hi to Graham and bizley . Caught up with Shrewsbury and few others big, hugs xx see you soon x
Hi Andy I have 2 of the sculpted layers mesh filters mine are 50 mesh and I clean mine twice a day 12hrs between. Hope that's helpful, cheers Dave from Eastbourne
@@DerbyKoi We did briefly mate, I didn’t think you recognised me from last year…. 🤣 You are too famous and had too many folk chatting to you. I was with Rich Shrewsbury Koi, as you were not long in, and we were heading off… 👍🏼
@AndysKoiPuddle oh yes, sorry mate, I remember now. I forget who I am sometimes, and Bizley has to remind me. And make sure we Have a longer chat next time 👍
I started off with the 60micron which was amazing but i was cleaning it every 2hours. My pond is in ground and i do have plants so it was expected. Ive changed to the 40 and can now leave it about 8 to 12 hours. In a few weeks i'll go back to the 60 to see if i can leave it longer before cleans. Overall im really impressed and have definitely noticed a difference in my water clarity!
Cheers, mate. I'm really impressed out how many fines it is catching, and like you say, the more it gets out, it will need less cleaning, but it only takes a few seconds to clean anyway. 👍
Great comparison of the two. I have the 60 mesh version and am having to clean them (I have two) every 3 hours maximum on a gravity fed system. Despite the water looking crystal clear it's amazing how much particulate they continue to pull out. I may have to try the 40 mesh once I can fit the purchase and shipping cost into my budget, likely a 2025 thing. I'll be interested to see how it works for you in the bunker. 👍🏻
Cheers, ken. Like you say, I thought my water was clear until I put this filter on, and I'm amazed at what it catches and hopefully you can get the 40 mesh so it'll be less cleaning for you. Stay safe Andy 👍
Cheers, Craig. I used the socks a few years ago, but I found them a bit unsightly, and if I didn't clean them in time, they got blocked, and my pod would overflow.
Hello mate, i am trying to decide between these and the beer filter. I am thinking one of these. But just wanna check on looking down my centre pipe and it has a rubber boot clamp about half way down. Is this normal or has mine had some modification in the past which will not allow me to fit this sculpted layer filter instead?
Hi mate it all depends on if it is gravity or pump fed but the filter will fit on both and do you mean it has just a metal clamp halfway down or the rubber boot?
Whats so special about a drum filter? It takes away the knowing how your pond is doing and like they said not everyone can afford to buy one so unless you can say something nice about the video why such a silly comment?

Cheers Dave hopefully you're happy with them. I know I am very impressed with mine so far. 👍
Great review of the difference between the 2 Andy. I ordered the 60 mesh, and it does what it says on the tin… 👍🏼
Cheers, mate, I can't fault them and really well made 👍
@@DerbyKoi Yep absolutely Andy, and was great to say hi to you all again today, albeit briefly… 😂 👍🏼

Great video noticed the idverde t shirt I used to work for them on the park builds

Hope he dose one for a nexus!!
I believe he's working on it 😊👍🏻

Thanks for doing this, it helped me decide which one to try. Cant remember if you said but how long does it take to clean and how do you do it. 👍🏻
Thanks stan it takes about 20 seconds to clean with a hosepipe or tap. Andy 👍
Did the filter Wool last longer in the tower when using the 60?
Hi Rich, I haven't used wool for a while now as I removed that filter ready for my upgrade when I get chance to do it.
I use filter socks over my outlet pipe - 200 , 300 and 400 micron, does the same job just alot cheaper
Cheers, Craig. I used the socks a few years ago, but I found them a bit unsightly, and if I didn't clean them in time, they got blocked, and my pod would overflow.

Will this fit in a nexus 220?
why both just buy a drum filter..........
Because not everyone wants or can afford a drum filter
