Great to see you Andy. I did check into your channel yesterday to see if there was any news, and here you are. Well the uncertainty and all of the emotional side of losing a job is now behind you.. It's a strange feeling to feel where you are now, but it's really the fresh start that you can now put your time and effort into creating. You really will be ok buddy, it may be like a breath of fresh air and you are in charge of it. I have total faith in you and you have gained me as a subscriber now also. Having experienced being made redundant myself Andy many years ago I can only say keep strong, things will work out in the end, it’s great you are going to keep going with your channel, you are right this koi community is a very caring bunch of lovely people.

I know your pain, it really is like someone has just taken your legs out from under you, and left you in mid air. I was an apprentice at GEC and there for 20 years when I was no longer required. I had a lovely marine setup at the time , which had to go as a result, it managed to keep thekoi and the pond. Wish I was nearer you, and a better set up, id happily take those fish off you untill you get things sorted. Fingers crossed for you hope all is sorted soon.

Sometimes these things work out for the better although at the time we think it’s the end of the world.

Redundancy pay is not great. You get one weeks pay for every year of working age 22-40 years and 1.5 weeks’ pay for every year over 40 years of age for the company however the government put a cap on this of 20 weeks’ pay. You are not taxed on redundancy pay. You should however put in a claim for Universal Credit and New Style Jobseeker's Allowance and New Style Employment and Support Allowance as you have been made redundant. However, these can be affected if a partner is working or getting a benefit such as PIP. The company you work for must be a good company making people redundant rather than just going into liquidation and people getting nothing. This government is not helping the working man lots are getting finished in the north where I live. The good point if there is one you have a lot of friends on here willing to help in one way or another.

Andy, I am so sorry, what a kick in the teeth, but I am sure you will find something soon, you have lots of skills, in lots of ways, practicle skills, and life skills, you are a fantastic communicator, a people person, I think you could turn your hand to almost anything, sell snow to eskimos as they say, you are a great bloke, with a fantastic personality, and you will turn things round for yourself in no time, very best wishes, to you Graham and Bisley🥰

Sorry to hear you sad news. But the old saying goes as one door closes another one opens and I am a firm believer in that as I have had the same happen a few years back and something always turns up. its never good time to be made redundant. its happened to me twice, both at xmas time . good luck with it buddy
