    This is so cool. At first I thought this was going to be harder than what I wanted to try but thought what the heck if it doesn't work for me I'll frog it and try something else. Well, I haven't frogged it yet and I'm on my 3rd skein of yarn. This really isn't that hard imo. I did have to watch and rewatch a few spots of the video (if the creator had a tighter zoom I wouldn't have needed to do this but I'm on a phone so the screen isn't very large) but once I was able to understand exactly what I'm supposed to do it was a piece of cake. If anyone reading my comment is concerned, like I was, as to your ability to make this I would say, so long as you're completely comfortable with your hook and yarn and know your basic stitches inside and out, you absolutely can conquer this project. I'm using category 6 weight 80% acrylic 20% alpaca blend yarn from buttercream luxe craft. This pattern is somewhat of a yarn eater but I got this yarn on clearance for only $3.97 per skein so the cost isn't so bad. I'm most likely going to keep doing rounds until I run out of this yarn and I have a total of 5 skeins. I wish RUclips allowed posting of photos.
    Thank you to the channel creator for an excellent pattern taught very well. Like I mentioned earlier the only thing I would recommend to enhance the video is if you were able to zoom in tighter when showing where to attach the last cable of the round but I was able to understand after watching several times.
    Note* I don't read patterns so referencing a pattern does me no good unfortunately. I am however trying to learn and understand. Thanks again! 💛🙏

    This is a beautiful rug. The texture is awesome and Tiffany did a great job. You either need to buy the pattern which would show your support or you need to watch the whole video before you start. There is information near the end you really want. Stitch markers would also be a huge help. After the first few rows, it is much easier. I found a trick that worked well for me. Instead of single crocheting into the chain, I went around the first two and into the third and that held everything in place.

      Not sure about that but it makes sense to chain 15. I got quite aways in this pattern with Tshirt yarn and didn't finish. Went back to a bulky with the chain of 30. If u can handle it then I would say yes, go for the 15 chains but you can also email Tiffany too. Working with the bulky yarn is just so much easier on my hands❤️👍. Good luck. Love this rug!

      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад

      Great question @aditipoddar2145! Yes, it can be slippery on the under surface so you may want to place an anti-slip rug mat under it OR some people where using tricks such as Hot Glue Gun on the bottom, let it dry, and that glue works well as a friction on the floor. 😊❤️🧶

    I made a slightly larger one than the example, and j noticed that it actually looks a little lopsided, most likely due to the increases caused a sort of "peak" on the edge of the work. It threw off the whole look of it for me.
    But I thought of 2 ways to combat this problem.
    Either on the HDC rows work the first 2 sections as *hdc inc, # of hdc* then the 2nd half of the sections work the pattern as *# of HDC, hdc inc* (the opposite) that wah the peaks are adjusted to be in the same place on both sides of the rug. It totally doesnt change the stitch count!
    Or, what I did because I was not about to frog out all my work after over 30 rounds... I added another round this time worked only in sc, then where the increases were on the previous row I worked a slip stitch into the 2 stitches that formed the increase and the stitch after (since the second stitch of the increase gives most of the peak appearance). This shaved down the peak some but not all the way. But after I block it it may be enough to where it visually doesnt bother me as much
    Still an amazing pattern! Wish I could figure out a way to also make it longer at the same time though. Oh well I'll be good for now :)

    Hi Tiffany! Always love your tutorials 💓. Which type of yarn would you recommend to use for an outdoor/doormat purpose ?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад +2

      Awe! I'm so happy to have you watch and crochet with me Christie! Hmm, I would try to stick with a 100% cotton yarn if you can for an outdoor mat. That way you can hose it down and the yarn will be fine. It's also stronger and more durable. You might also like T-Shirt yarn though that is definitely a bulky yarn and would be challenging to use with this oval rug project. But if you can find a nice, easy to use 100% cotton yarn that is also a size 4 weight like I use in this pattern I would go with that.
      Little Tip, The Lily's Sugar'n Cream and the Peaches 'n Cream 100% cotton yarn might be too rough to work with in this pattern but there are some AMAZING 100% cotton yarns you would try from Caron/Yarnspirations/and I believe Hobby Lobby has some really nice ones as well. 😊🧡🧶

      Hi Bagu! Actually I left this pattern open for anyone to stop wherever they want to stop. So I don't have an exact measurement to give to you. However, if you check out the RUclips video you can get that foundation row and a few rows in, from there you can see how it the pattern lays out and can get an idea of what sizes you can accomplish. I hope this helps! 😊🧡🧶

    is the absolute worst video tutorial and pattern I have ever followed. I also purchased the pattern. You know it’s bad when there is a written pattern AND video, yet it’s still confusing and unclear. I have never in my life had to frog a project so many times only for something to still come out wrong. This was my 5th and final time taking apart and restarting this. I’m done and will find another pattern. I’ve counted. I’ve used stitch markers. I’ve used stitch counters….This is ridiculous. The rug is beautiful. I’ll give her that. I’ve been searching for a rug pattern for quite some time and was so happy when I came across this one. Thank goodness patterns aren’t expensive or I’d be seriously pissed
