Bro, if you have the cord you literally hook it up to your play station, move it around for like a minute or so and when you unplug it, it should be synced up entirely, this is a back up option if you already have another controller synced to the PlayStation

The second step (adding a quick play user) is ridiculous to get a 2nd controller to be activated. Definitely miss the old days of true plug and play without jumping thru multiple hoops.
