Looking really good, thanks for sharing this video. Have you considered adding gutters and down spout to the coop? The water could be directed to a barrel or water trough for your birds. Later, you could augment the system with a hydrant near that gate. Wishing you and your family a blessed week, gentle weather, nourishing rain and restful evenings. Peace brother
Maybe a Bombay shutter would work for that last window...It all looks great, & the chickens will be so happy !! Thanks for sharing your little boy!! God bless you and your family!! 🥰👍🙏
More nice improvements to the chicken house Wes. And that looks like a nice and relaxing way to end the day - a grill out with the family. Thanks for sharing it with us. God bless. 👌
Hi Little Mr. Levi !! Mr Green Jean's the coop looks wonderful. The chickens will be pleased I think. It's the classiest chicken coop I've ever seen !! YUMMMM Burgers on the grill. Cheese, and Catsup, and Pickles please.
your grandmother taught me in school and your grandparents were talented teachers. your uncles could have built the Ark. your you tube podcast is impressive informative and inspiring for anyone seeking quality goals. you are A plus.
Looks great. I really enjoyed your series on the coop. I like that your made it real. you showed mistakes, learning as you go and that you know things are not perfect…..real life build. .Your son is growing up..
I completely agree. I would definitely enjoy a few minutes video of dad and son stuff. Maybe BB gun and tin can in a year. A BB gun was a standard for kids in the 70s.
Coop looks good. I really like seeing you have your son help out. My father was a wood worker and as a little guy he would get my assistance when ever he could. I loved it. Great memories and a learning experience too.
hello from the Netherlands . if you put a cheap camouflage net over the chickens outside run spand roof no predators can attack your chickens from the air . thanks for the video . Sincerely, Hollandduck
Like you said, we get the picture. Thanks for posting. Another really enjoyable video. Just a suggestion, you could always accordion fold the shutters over the egg door by hinging them in the middle if you really wanted them to fold in one direction only.
The chicken coop really looks good with the fence gate and shutters. At the very end, the dog is looking and thinking "where is my double cheese burger????" enjoyed the video, and have a great week.
you hinged the gate on the wrong side. the cross member of the "Z" hinges so that bottom rail and Z hinges on the left. that way the Z prevents gate sag.
Looks good! The only thing I would change is either the direction the cross buck is going or put your hinges on the other edge of the door. You want the bottom of the diagonal piece pointing at your bottom hinge.
Wes, something to keep in mind for future projects as possible alternatives... On those window shutter latches, instead of hook-&-eye, you could also use magnets with iron armatures for no noisy moving parts.
Really sad to see the end of this project, I have really enjoyed seeing its progress over the entire time Thanks for sharing and taking the time to film it Eagerly awaiting the next project
Nice shutters! At dog want's a hamburger... There you go with them post hole diggers again... I got a 3 point post hole auger you can have if you come get it and it works good... Got a 12" and a 6" auger with it...
If the door is for you to access the coop or chicken area, you can make it framed with wood, yet wired so you see through it. You may want to switch or add 1/4" wire mesh for chicken window since mice can get throu the chicken mesh you used or racoons and other can get their powerful hands and nails and cause lots of damage if they grab your chicken through them. Those windows in the chicken cook feel so good! The moment you open the first one, felt so good! That's a lot of peace to your chicken during harsh times like heavy rains. Great coop and house in my opinion! Great built! Great video, lovely way to ended by enjoying the bbq and some time at the table in peace after a hard day work! Looking forward to my piece of land, to be able to do this kind of projects, in peace! Enjoy your life!
Another option for that front window shutter would have been to make it awning style instead of two uneven shutters. It looks like it would have plenty of room to swing up.
You did a fine job with that 🐥🐣 chicken coop !! Well built and beautifully explained. Will you be locking up after dark so predators don't help themselves and the chickens are all safely roosting inside ?
The Screw bit keep coming out of the holder... Just a little piece of store bag in between the two, the bit and the holder will lock it in but can be pull out... The Bag is the thin kind like at Home Depot... The piece does not have to be cut and certain size just big enough to come out where the bit is inserted in the holder... It will hold well.... and if you loose the piece the bag is close by and start over!!!
Would a folding shutter workers for the window by the door? Of course there is always more than one option. I also liked how your designed turned out. I love watching your videos. God Bless!!!
Almost forgot to say you could always put an awning style shutter on that window by the door. Lift it up during nice weather, lower it down and latch it for winter.
You might want to look into a netting over your coop from hawks especially red tail hawks fix and raccoon s can get under your fence and pull your bottom of gate our with the latch up so high had it happen to me
On the big window shutters, was vertical an option. Probably not since the top shutter latch would have been outta reach. Or maybe one vertical shutter only?
I know you don't have any control over this, but I thought you would want to know. Last night, I was watching one of your honey harvest videos with my kids and was appalled when an ad for Fifty Shades of Grey came on in the middle of the video. I do not have ad personalization turned on, and maybe I should to prevent stuff like this. I just wanted to bring this to your attention so that you are aware of the potential for this type of ad to be displayed on your videos. Our family loves your content and looks forward to your video releases! Keep up the good work and maybe RUclips will allow you, at some point, to choose your ad content as a creator.
Looks great! One thing we noticed - the door to the nesting boxes should have a coon-proof lock. Those rascals are crafty, smart, and persistent.
Good morning Wes. Another fantastic video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for including us to your dinner, that was nice. Great video thumbs up.
Fantastic build, it looks amazing! I'm sure the lil chickens love it! Well done!
I like the fact that you have your son out there with you, good bonding.
Thanks for sharing, Wes and say "Hi" to the foreman !! God Bless you and your family
Great looking chicken coop you are a very talented man thanks for the videos and keep on sharing
God Bless Wes 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Things never get fully complete around my house either. I always tell my wife it s my way of having to stick around. Great video as always.
I really enjoyed your whole series on the chicken coop. Very helpful and informative.
Thanks.
Great kid you have there. I like that he’s with his Dad every time it’s safe.
Good job Dad.
Another awesome video. Always enjoy watching you spending quality time and making great memories with your son. Tell him I said thumbs up.
Great looking shutters and gate. At the gate would be a wonderful place for a water spigot.
Great finish! Thanks for sharing! 👍👌
Good job 👍👍👍Thank you for sharing. Be safe 🇨🇦

That young man is really very precious

Thanks! Appreciate you watching! Thanks for the kind words about my family too. I think a lot of them.
Looks great. I really enjoyed your series on the coop. I like that your made it real. you showed mistakes, learning as you go and that you know things are not perfect…..real life build. .Your son is growing up..
The last 60 seconds of this video is priceless gold that makes all the hard work and challenges totally worth it. 👍
I completely agree. I would definitely enjoy a few minutes video of dad and son stuff. Maybe BB gun and tin can in a year. A BB gun was a standard for kids in the 70s.
That’s a good lookin chicken 🐓 coop 👍😎

Mate, it all looks good anyway. 👍

Chicken mansion and burgers fit for a king nice way to end it Wes.
Kid trap 😂 good one 👍🏻 Chicken house looks better all the time 😊 Might make nice guest house… if they like chickens 🐓 😂
This is beyond chicken house brother. This is more like a really nice mountain home.
Looks good .....
Well done !
You could prop that big window straight out with top mounted hinges, but your idea is good too.
A job well done!
Looks good! The only thing I would change is either the direction the cross buck is going or put your hinges on the other edge of the door. You want the bottom of the diagonal piece pointing at your bottom hinge.
You're not the first to mention that. I can totally see how that would work better.

Some kind of a kid trap 😆 🤣 😂....❤
How do I get outta here lol....
That was awesome....
I love grilling all kind of food.
Nice shutters! At dog want's a hamburger... There you go with them post hole diggers again... I got a 3 point post hole auger you can have if you come get it and it works good... Got a 12" and a 6" auger with it...
Amazing from manila philippines
collecting water from the roof makes sense with it sent to a barrel to use on the chickens fixed to that post

The chickens will never complain, only the critics..
這房子蓋的比人類住的還堅固。。。太完善了!
You did a fine job with that 🐥🐣 chicken coop !! Well built and beautifully explained. Will you be locking up after dark so predators don't help themselves and the chickens are all safely roosting inside ?
No plans for that right now. They've been in there for several weeks and no issues yet...though it'll probably happen eventually.

That was my thought too and bet he thought of it as well.
And just like that, the Taj Mah Coop, for all intents and purposes, is done.
❤❤❤
Just to let you know, pets (esp. dogs) sit closest to the messiest eaters at the table.....
A beautiful stain color would be attractive

...National Double-Cheeseburger Day? Only in America! 🤣🤣
Ha!

Is that a set of Knipex cutters? Love my Knipex. This was a great video series. Keep up the good work.
Yep, some of the best tools around.
could the shutter on the window by the be made to lift up instead of swinging?
Son! Watch them ladders.
They'll get you.
You could have made a bi fold shutter
Why don't you set it up for rain water caching sysrem
Wood sure was cupped! Kinda aggravating to cut.
Строительство курятника, часть 9.
Do chickens care about crooked fences?

Thanks for letting me know, Josh. Unfortunately I only have limited control over that stuff.
just bi fold it to one side..
Why didn’t you hinge the two pieces and open to the left?
🎵🇨🇵🎞🎬📽📸😁😍👍
That big "Z" on doors, does it mean some geopolitical idea? :-) In Europe i guess you would be arrested immediately these days :-)
what about water damage?
First?
You got it.
Nice
