This is a dope game changer for say bedroom style cookups minus the plug in play but to have keys and a beat machine right at hand is a plus
articulate and organized / nice production values / great audio / excellent presentation style / intelligent / balanced
Looks like the live 2 is still King for now. Still looks like a dope unit it would fit perfectly in my setup if I didnt already have the live 2
That Live 2 is still crushing the game.. i wanna buy another just to have 2 😂,
Y’all recommend live 2 over this? I haven’t used the live or live 2. Looking to grab a new piece
yessir i dont see anything taking that crown unless akai does something crazy. I like the X alot too its just too rich for my blood right now the live 2 gives me everything i need plus portability @@2twenty13
@@dome2222 trust us! Get that Live 2! The portability of it is awesome! The layout of the buttons, qlinks etc..and plus the Live 2 users are the only ones who can cook up beats anywhere! Lol 😂 the beach , bathroom, airport, in the middle of street if u want lol
Live 2 is still undefeated
Exactly~ Great addition for the on the go and traveling producers Especially for me I dont like having unseasoned or new artist in my personal lab... as always Thanks Bolo.
Lol! Bolo tried to show us this a few vids ago with his makeshift key 37! His first cookup of 2024 sure looks alot like this machine 😂😂😂... We see what you did there 😂
Facts
Funny how people complain about batteries but never once mention why doesn’t it have Oled knob displays. That feature is a game changer.
?
Batteries is dumb.. you can use a battery pack thing
It’s cool but for traveling I might as well take my MPC Live II and my 37 keyboard controller
If you have those, but if your like me and had your
Live 2 and moog 37 stolen out of your truck 3 times in different cities, the $900 all in one is a lot nicer than the $3500 I’m used to spending
@@daltontaylor988what cities are you going to? Did you not learn after the first two instances? Ijs
@@illanoiz1his “homies” definitely finessing him
DOPE SEEING YOU AT NAMM!!!!! ON POINT AS WELL!!!!!
Same here homie!
Hunter you nice as hell TOO !!! 🔥🔥🔥 VIDEOS AS WELL !!
@@producerdata Thanks a lot!!
Facts
That is a good price, and they need to put all of the mpc to that exact price range. And if they do make all of the mpc that are not True Flagship Models, AKAI sales will Skyrocket. Because the customer will began to trust AKAI again. Great Video Bolo..
Couldn't wait for this video Bishop!!!
Well… I took the plunge and ordered one of these today (9/9/24), or should I say my wife did as she got it for me as a surprise for my birthday today. I’ve not had an MPC for a while - my first was the 2000 back in ‘98 and I’ve had another 13 since then - so I can’t wait for it to arrive tomorrow! Thanks Bolo, you convinced me to get back into hardware again!
Well your the First to show this, I already know what it is before You even say anything. Its a MPC one Plus with keys.
I'm not gonna hold you, I was REALLY hoping this would come with 4gb. But considering the price, I'm not mad at it though. I think I'm gonna cop it
@@avace917 better wait til the 4gb gray one drop...lol
@@ECollinsMusicis that realistic based on there release circle?
@@avace917 I did a quick vid talking about why Im not buying it, if You want to hear My opinion but basically the biggest problem is no battery.
@@ECollinsMusic I want to know why its red, did they originally intent to release a standard black one but jumped straight to the Red with Red One plus features. Or dud they think its better to go for the red one and later release a red MPC Key 61 plus? Hmmmmmmmm
Oh sure it got a battery, except that it’s sold separately and it’s made by Milwaukee, and it’s called the Milwaukee M18 18V Power Inverter 😂 and get this, it’s ALSO Red and Black. Not a bad idea to pair that together to use it portably.
Please Elaborate. What do you mean?
I’m definitely buying a Keys 37 on Black Friday.
Tilted screen wuld have been dope
The entire back part of the unit is tilted up slightly.
A 10" tilt screen would have been the most important thing for me
AKAI....From a product planning POV, consider a speaker line dedicated to MPC line. One folds for traveling purposes. Another more stationary. Sound quality specs near MPC Live speakers. This is a logical step vertically
Now that’s dope!!!
@@BoloDaProducer thanks G! Push through your contacts. This thing had legs.
Great release. Wishes: 4GB RAM, touch strip, 10" tilt screen, 2 more I/Os, and better keybed.
A battery would be helpful, but I wouldn't want to bulk it up for people like me that wouldn't ever want that.
Speakers wouldn't work with that form factor.
The price is impressive.
Hey Bolo. Good video! A couple important points to be aware of. NO professional synthesizer or keyboard workstation is battery powered. NO serious professional keyboard or workstation has speakers. That’s just a fact. Especially when you look at what it can do.
and what about Roland Jupiter Xm with more than 4000 sounds...
@@amstadeathhardcore816 great question! However, it’s not even close to being in the same category as the MPC keys. The Jupiter is a robust analog to digital synthesizer but is not a full music production workstation. The Jupiter xm doesn’t compare to the phantom line, and a the higher end Yamaha lines. The Jupiter xm attempts to compete with such synthesizers as moog, nord Dave smiths instruments etc. Roland’s attempt was to round out its analog to digital synthesizer line. Not compete with Akais MPC line because they can’t. I should’ve clarified that in my previous comment. My apologies. The akai MPC keys line actually proves as a totally viable replacement and master controller for professional workstations and analog synthesizers. In fact, you can control and even sample the Roland Jupiter xm using the akai MPC keys. Either one. 37 or 61. The MPC keys is in a league of its own. While some of the higher end workstations do offer some amazing capabilities. The MPC keys is entering a whole new universe. I totally get why akai didn’t include batteries or speakers in the MPC keys. We should give them credit. They’ve been making tools that have created genres and shaped music. If they didn’t include it. There’s a purpose behind it. They already knew that the battery feature works. Yet they didn’t include it. They also didn’t include it with the MPC XE. Also keep in mind. Most people don’t know the legendary family that akai is a part of. Alesis, m-audio, rane, numark, Air Music Technology (responsible for many of pro tools plugins), AND Denon DJ are ALL owned by the same company. Also, adding a battery and speakers increases size AND cost. Because an AC adapter for power is cheaper, and allows for a much smaller form factor design.
Also, the number of sounds really doesn’t matter. The QUALITY of the sounds is more important. Having the ability to physically edit their midi and velocity and see what you’re doing while simultaneously being able to process those sounds along side the rest of your entire production without ever using a computer, all on the same device. That’s game changing. And the Roland Jupiter xm isn’t even close. Sorry this reply was so long. Be blessed.
MPC Stems? They have finally made a MPC perfect for me.
And it's worse quality than a 128 kpbs mp3 file, 🤮.
Looks like the buttons are same as the Mpc one let’s hope they last longer than mine, where they pushed the solder pad away from the circuit board and broke the connection. Akai uk wouldn’t do anything about it, because I’d bought it used, even though it was only 6 months old, with hardly any use. Clearly a huge design flaw.
I just sold my mpc one. and I miss it, even tho I still have my X. I travel a lot but that doesn't look like its small enough to fit in a laptop bag or even a big book bag. would've been nice to see you sit it against another one. Looks kinda like its bout the size of my Moog grandmother but slimmer.
Native Instruments shakin now
Native instruments needs a similar style s37
lol just got my first ever mpc (one+) from Zzounds a week ago.. now i'm debating on returning and exchanging for the key 37 😂. i like the darker red finish of the one+, the button layout, and i already have a Mini Key 25 i used with Garageband.
Waiting for a Bolo production video on the unit...that gives it the real stamp of approval...💯👍🏼🔥
This what I’ve been waiting for!!!
Apart from the red, looks dope
Maybe use this for your next kitchen cook up series? Great vid.Stay Blessed.
that thing looks sweet af.
I have the MPC Touch. I haven't necessarily needed to expand on my in the box setup. However I do want to have a hybrid setup where I can go in the box when I want to and do DAWless tracks when I have the desire
Add a Roland D-Beam to take this to the next level 🎉
I need help on how to make my first beat on it.? Need help
Check my last Kitchen Cook Up I make complete beat with no video edits
I was excited for this MPC, but i think I'll wait for the internal battery and speaker version. Great video and review!
Part of me is a little disappointed that it doesn't have a sata plug tucked into the bottom, but 1TB SD cards are getting pretty cheap these days, so it's not as a big a deal as it used to be.
As for use? Heck, I could set it up in a corner somewhere in the house and use it when I want to make stuff away from the ol' PC. :)
It'd also make an excellent control for a DAW-less setup.
Live 2 is still the best out of the series. Can't best the full sized pads, battery, and speaker.
Wowww now Am going to get back with my open lab miko 😂😂😂
Is it going to be a big learning curve from fl I just bought my first MPC i was waiting for the 37
Prefer Live and one, Big up Bolo hope you enjoyed Namm.
Once you sample an external source, can you trigger the samples from the keys instead of the pads?
Yes, just make a keygroup
i like it but i still think they ca make it smaller if thats the case. not too excited about it but its cool, not what i was expecting
Bolo, bro I’ve watched a lot of your videos over the years. But this video looked like it hurt to make…🤷🏾♂️ it’s probably one of your shortest videos ever made. I mean you said a lot by not really saying a lot at all. 🤦🏾♂️ with that said, I’ll stick with what I got. Thanks for the truth bruh! 🤗
@BoloDaProducer I already have the MPC one and I’m happy with it. That being said should I buy a synthesizer for sounds and use that with the MP or do you think it’s worth to buy the 37? I’m thinkin bout getting the Korg krome ex
No internal hard drive support? I'm assuming not since you said it's like the one and one+
No.
Nice little red chicken box with fries or keys , I like it.
They could put the speakers under the keys like the Micro Krog.
Those speakers are trash, the LIVE 2 has studio grade sound, worth the $400 if you have it but if not save up for a Bose S1 Pro later down the line.
Bolo you the best with the cold open LMAO
i just got mine bro ! super excited
I do travel alot. What is the best speaker set up to travel wit?
These 👉🏾 bit.ly/3OGExvF
Damn...damn...damn... Native Instruments. Akai Killin em 😢
Or NI are sitting back munching watching the half assed comedy Akai are putting out before they slay…
Whatching too much Good Times?
Native Instruments needs to service their Maschine customers and perspective customers better than they have to date. New controller keyboard without support for Maschine. No new products. It sounds like they have other things on their minds
I just saw one of these on IG, and I said lemme go see if BOLO has a review…and here we are lol
Would you recommend this for a beginner that has never made a beat, but is very interested in learning how to?
Yo yo! Love the content my g! Really inspiring!! Had a question! I’m a OG like yourself..I came in the game on Korg Triton 61 paired with MPC XL2000. Had to adjust to the Digital world FL and Ableton. Thinking of getting either the Key 61 or the 37. How much do you think to fully load the 37 vs just getting the 61? I need All the sounds! Jura and Mini D as well!
It doesn't have upgraded RAM or a spot for an internal drive.
I realy wish they would add an external display port for external monitor....not the mpc software mode....i want a bigger screen for editing
Akai owes you a commission, cauz I’m about to pull the trigger on one 😂 Also appreciate the real review. Seems hardly anyone else will say the negatives
You should have done a comparison with key 61 that would help out alot!! So we can decide witch one to go with
It doesn’t seem to bright to you? On your halo desk, it makes everything else look almost dull, or maybe that’s just how it appears on RUclips video. Excited about the product though. Ordering mine soon
Aye I want yall to know yall are witnessing the greatest producer to ever come from Tampa Fla
So, I have an MPK Mini MKIII and I’m looking to upgrade. I was already having a tough time deciding between the One+ or the Live II. I like the price point, but Is it worth buying over the other 2? I know if I picked up the Live II or the One+, I could connect my MPK to it. What would y’all do??
I know you can’t have everything but maaaan could you imagine if Akai had timed this release with an announcement adding Force’s arranger to the Keys line?!
Oh wow you got the early hook up! Looking forward to this
I remember back in the day casio keyboards had speakers on them and we thought that was cheap and generic and now all the new generation want speakers on there gear lol…
Its crazy how stuff changes…Dope video Bolo as usual but umma pass on this one, salute to those that picks it up though 🫡🫡🫡
You ain't never lying on that one how things change smh
@@ATMFX-uv3ox Big Facts 😂
Does the audio interface work while you use it as a controller but still are in standalone mode….
That would be game changing
first actual time seeing it
Got a maschine mk3 and an fl key 37 taking up alot of room on my desk, this might just replace them 👀
Or maybe its bigger brother will 🤣🔥
Say Fam, quick question. Can you use that with Logic Pro ?
Is the red as shiny as on the Akai Advertisement or more of a matt finish? In a lot of videos it seems way more Matt than I thought.
Hi,
I saw that you made videos on Beat Maker 3.
Is the workflow close to the MPC ?
Did this come with fabric and the other paid plugins?
Just one (your choice).
I came to your video from the E-A-Ski referral this morning. I wonder if Akai will make the retro color for this. Great review!
Does it come with all the instruments that the 61 has
Not all of them
Ooooeeeeee!!!! 🎹 👀
Hey bolo can u hook it up to the MPC X SE and use together without any problems?
Which MPC comes with no sounds or plugins pre loaded?? I’d like to load only what I choose
The older ones
I just thought about something they would have the first keyboard standalone with stem separation 🔥🔥🔥🤞🏽
True!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥BOLO!!!!
Bolo my bro it uses a power brick with a DC input so that means that you could get a suitable power bank and that will kinda work like a battery. As a keyboard on board speakers would probably spoil it but yeah, interesting.
Does the keys (keyboard part) work with the scale/chord progression mode? i.e as can be used on the pads.
Now on another review i saw that you can add multiple outputs thru a usb soundcard ..is that true ?
Great an all in one…now we got the Akai Mikko😂😂😂i’ll take one
Shame it isn’t usb power capable , the Roland Verselab can power off a USB portable power bank for hours at a time .
12 v input 3A is still possible via the ever shrinking new power station units ….some only the size of a toaster these days .
Does it have a Bluetooth function ?
Great video bro thank you.
Do you think you can get a battery pack for this ?
I see the plug is different than the mpckey61.
Let me check
🟥 MPCs are like Jordans. Same product in different colors
I was going it looks really eye catching Nord hmm, if it had speakers not battery I would have bought one, even though I just got the One Plus.
Can this be hooked up with the force via midi
Gr8 for keyboard players who want a new portable MPC.
Do you think they'll make an MPC Key 88 eventually?
Thanks, big brother you you explained they I wanted to hear it.1Love🤜🏾💯🤛🏾📠
Bolo
I Need that MPC KEY 37 vs MPC Live II comparison and pros and cons along with the specs video... let's see if bolo will be the first one to do this video I haven't seen one out as of yet. This video will be the final video that I need to step into the MPC world I plan to purchase one or the other 😊🎉🎉❤
No comparison...live 2 has a lithium battery...I can take a dump...lay in my bed...etc...and bang out..just wouldn't be a fair comparison..prolly why not may out there
@MainConcept
I get that I was merely saying that it would be still a nice video to be shown or produced appreciate your input and I think I am going to be aiming toward the MPC Live II
Kind of looks like a SH-101. Just needs a keytar grip and strap.
Looks Delicious🤤
Looks amazing 🔥🔥🔥
It is!
*I seen this on a video last week and I thought it looks like my MPK MiniPlus with the MPC One plus stuck to it*
No speaker or battery though, meh
Peace. Yo best review ever thanks bro.
I already knew you was working on something you say you was sick sick of playing at 37😢😢😅
I like the product. Seen the link. It reminds me of the akai max 49 and the miko. Love that the mpc one meets the akai max.
I have a gold mpc one. Think imma trade it in for this unit.
Dope!....is this a Good choice,if I don't own no new Akai workstations (expect Akai mini keyboard..FL DAW)?...Thanks
Yes
Let's Go!!!
Is this one better than the mpk249? Can anyone respond in need to making music
I was considering it but the mpc one is more compact with a added mini midi controller. Since they made this, the mpc one is now a module. Lol😂😂😂
This joint going to be fire with BM3
How so?
@@genekj81 you can midi up all the knobs, pads and keys with the app. Also import the instruments directly in while seeing the key groups
