    Thank you for sharing that the burgundy Betty matches the Mathew trousers! I would definitely keep it as it suits you perfectly and we waited forever (at least I did) for that color! ❤

      Thank you so much! It's such a versatile color and I love it so much - the cost per wear on this jacket will be close to cents by the end of winter!

    I think the blue Betty with the burgundy pants is even better than the matching set, just beautiful. And I do love those earrings. Also, I have to mention that the gray jacket is perfect on you! Thanks for showing us what was in the blue boxes. I was curious about them from the start of the video.

      Thank you Shannon for the lovely comment and the suggestion to keep the blue wash Betty. I’m being adventurous and decided to keep the burgundy one (will replace the buttons) and as for the earrings, they’re too pretty to return so they’re staying as well 🥰

    I like the blue cardigan better with the burgundy pants. I think the combination of gold buttons and matching color makes the look quite mature/classic.

      @whatmarianalikes  2 месяца назад

      Yes, I agree. The blue wash Betty goes well with burgundy. I love the idea of the matching set, but the gold buttons are such a turnoff for me, as, like you said, they give a classic vibe.

    can't wait to get my coord! I actually dig the buttons so much, and I don't know if I'd buy a Betty without those kind of buttons. Then again, gold is my metal of choice... I think if you love the color so much, it's worth it to change the buttons. And then you can resell those buttons or do something creative with them.
    I've seen the earrings retailing for 125€ on vinted. it's so crazy. I'd say keep them only for this reason :D I think they're a completely different vibe anyway, and I think you can use them in summer too, while the handmade ones, they're more wintery, and because of the black-red, you can probably wear them in a less versatile way.

    Mariana, the Lyna Jumper looks gorgeous on you! Have you considered purchasing the navy crochet Betty? I am dark winter too and wear it all the time. It pairs well with white, black, purple, grey, sky blue, burgundy... I think it will pair well with the burgundy pants as both colors are cool, dark and saturated. The vintage blue is nice, but less versatile than the navy Betty. The burgundy betty looks weird with the pants IMHO. It looks like a pajamas set with gold buttons!

      @whatmarianalikes  2 месяца назад

      Thank you so much for the suggestion! After reading your comment I decided to order the navy crochet Betty and what can I say, I'm totally in love! I didn't get that "hell yes" feeling from any of the other Betty's I tried, even though I waited quite a long time for the burgundy one. I sized up like the others and it fits great, did you get it in your regular size?

      @@whatmarianalikes Great, I'm so glad I helped you made the right decision! I have the Betty in my regular size M. It fits me well, even though it's a bit short. I'm not sure sizing up to L would have helped length-wise, though. It's supposed to be a boxy, short cardigan. I love it! And my other Bettys too (especially the bright red one that looks great with a white blouse and a dark blue pair of jeans. It's not available currently, but I'm sure they'll have something quite similar, or even prettier, in the future).

      I’ve seen mixed comments online, some people love it some people hate it 😅 I love the color so much and I decided to replace the buttons… god knows when Sezane will release other Betty in burgundy and even if they do the chances that it’ll match up with the Matthew pants are low…

    I don't really like the buttons on the new Betty either, as someone who lived through the "Balmain blazer"-era I can't see pass the resemblance 😆 Love the green set on you (obviously haha)! The earrings are really pretty, I would say they are different enough from your other earrings to justify keeping them (if you wear the ones you already have on a regular basis!)! The Jack jacket looks amazing, I hope they release it in a Rosewood, vintage blue or in a houndstooth for spring! That would sell me on it completely! 😍

      @@madeinnorden I thought I was the only one who didn't like the gold buttons - they're a lot to take in, but I have to admit that when I was editing the video, I loved the idea of having a coordinated set even more. Jack in vintage blue would be a dream, it's already one of my favorite jackets! And of course, you got me into the coordinated sets! Thanks for the comment, Amanda 🥰

    Keep blue Betty with burgundy pants & get a burgundy light weight shirt ( tee, or polo or mesh) to wear underneath and wear Betty like a cardigan.

    Lovely video as usual, you showcased the items very well. I have the same doubts about the Betty, I don’t love the golden buttons. I have purchased the cardigan because of the color but I’m thinking to change the buttons with similar ones that Sézane uses elsewhere. Do you have any idea where can I find ones?

      Thank you very much for the (positive) feedback! I have no idea where I can find buttons to replace the golden ones, I’ll start searching at some local craft shops in my city but if I find something online I’ll update you 😊 Good luck with the hunt!

    Hi Mariana! Did you do something to your hair? It looks amazing! I’m loving the color of the Maurice sweater, I’ve had my eye on it for a while. Good to know it’s not itchy! I’d still love to see how it compares to the Arket sweater you mentioned. About the Betty cardigan, that’s a tough one. I think I’d keep the burgundy, but I’d try to find the new buttons first that way you know you’ll really love it.

    Hello, may I ask about the hand-made earrings from Mexico? They're stunning! Can I find them anywhere?? Thank you!

    • @whatmarianalikes
      @whatmarianalikes  2 месяца назад

      Of course! These earrings are the type of item I'm going to keep forever in my wardrobe, not only because of the sentimental value, but also because of how beautifully made they are. I have to say that when I got them they were a much longer pair of earrings, so I asked the store if they could split them: so I ended up with two sets, the heart part and a black fringed part that looks exactly like Sezane's Emrys earrings. I searched for the jewelry designer again and found her on Instagram: instagram.com/maritzavillegas_joyeria/

    Hi Mariana some of your experiences reinforce my sense that Sezane is more interested in designing for its models than for its customers. e.g., the silhouettes really don't suit women of average height. So many things are scaled too long for anyone under 165 cm - e.g., their jackets, trousers, "midi" dresses would require way too much expensive tailoring for me to consider them. As for your maybe pieces - well I personally don't invest in maybes anymore. For *me* if it's not a "hell yeah" then it's a "no." I've had way more regrets over keeping so-so pieces that I only wear if I force myself - bit of a waste of time/money/closet space at the end of the day.

      It really is sad, isn’t it? Growing up in Brazil and then moving to Europe, I’ve definitely learned some hard lessons when it comes to finding clothes that fit curvy body types. I completely took for granted the attention to detail in the Brazilian market when it comes to different body shapes. I already avoid brands like COS and Arket since they tend to design for the Scandinavian body shape. And while Sézane does offer a relatively wide size range, it’s not just about size-it’s about how body structure and proportions change within that range, right? I must say I love an oversized fit, so Sezane's jackets and blazers work well for me. But trousers are a whole different story. This pair was a pleasant surprise, but I’d still need to have them hemmed since they’re designed for taller people. And let’s be honest, I’m not petite, so I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for those who are! It’s funny, though-thinking about it now, the average French person is more on the petite side too. So why does a French brand seem to cater to Dutch average heights? 😂 Thanks for your advice! I hadn’t had the chance to reply earlier, but I read all the comments. In the end, I decided to return the Betty cardigan in burgundy-it just wasn’t a “hell yes” for me, and I’m trying to be more intentional with my purchases.

    Did you find the burgundy Tomboy itchy, or scratchy? I had to return the striped blue Tomboy which is also made of just cotton because it was so itchy and uncomfortable. The ones made with organic cotton, like the solid white and blue, are completely different, super soft.

    • @whatmarianalikes
      @whatmarianalikes  2 месяца назад +1

    The green corduroy is pretty, Sezane should have done a padded/quilted Will with a suede collar for winter….something with more weight and warmth. I understand why you returned it. If it’s not perfect….send it back!
    Last years Betty was in Garnet which was brighter than this years burgundy. If you keep the Betty and want to do an international button swap, let me know. I would be happy to swap the tortoise shell buttons from my new Black Betty. I know it would be cheaper to buy buttons elsewhere but I guess it depends on what type of buttons you want. I love both sets of heart earrings…I would keep both but I am partial to hearts ♥️ I’m so upset, we can’t get most of the Sezane gift items in Australia. No candles, no tea cups or coffee mugs. Scarves and gloves seem to be the only items on offer for us this year. 😢 I really want the “Poetry” mug with the pretty letter and flowers. Europeans and Americans don’t know how lucky you are!

    It's a double-breasted jacket, not a blazer. It will make you look blocky. A huge criticism of Sezane is that they design primarily for women that are shaped like models. The cuffs and sleeves on the blue sweater are too big. I think you are mistaken about the gold buttons. That piece needs it for the contrast. However, the blue looks better on you. I think the double burgundy is a bit too much. The gray jacket is a hit.

    • @whatmarianalikes
      @whatmarianalikes  Месяц назад

      I believe they do state it as a double-breasted blazer, and although I love an oversized fit, not every Sezane jacket/blazer works for me. Sometimes the proportions are off, as they were designed to taller people as you pointed out - which is a shame! I understand most people love the golden buttons, but I'm a white gold gal and it was just too overwhelming for my liking - so I decided to return it! I'm now questioning if I'm trying too hard to love the Betty cardigan... perhaps it's just not for me :) The Jack jacket is already a staple in my wardrobe, I'm wearing it non-stop! It goes with everything and it's so warm too, perfect for this season!
