- Part 2 of our steering system our race trucks long travel suspension. In this race truck steering build video I show you two things. First we fabricate a mount that will keep the power steering box from a 2013 Silverado 2500HD in place during a grueling 1000 mile race at the Baja 1000 and we take the old Silverado’s pitman arm and convert it into something we can use in this new system.
Please hit me up with any questions in the comments below.
These are some of the tools I used in this video.
Bristle Brush amzn.to/465L0GI
Dewalt 20V Grinder amzn.to/465L0GI
Press Brake amzn.to/3EMf0LT

Love how you show how to make all these parts in such detail.
Super cool! It’s cool seeing a budget friendly trophy truck. Nice work!
Thanks. Will see if it works.
Love watching this truck come together. Nice work!
Many thanks.
Nice work Dave and thanks for sharing all the details. Can’t wait to see the rest of the build.
Nice steering container!
Thank you for the info. I really like that you are so humble and helpful.
Thanks.
I always stick around for your Fusion work.
It is Very informative!!!
Thanks. I was wondering if anyone was watching.
Seeing how you designed the part is very helpful (especially narrating your key stokes). Making the tangent lines and showing how you make the radius are some tricks I was missing as a beginner with fusion. Hopefully I get to see this thing in person someday!
It will be at the starting line for the Baja 1000 in 40 days.
Thanks for watching.
New to suspension, liked the slider for the drag link? looks super strong! Enjoy seeing this stuff built in a garage, not a 10 million dollar shop!
Thanks. Just got back from Baja. The slider was bombproof over 1200 miles. The steering box mount did fail. Just rebuilt that and will be testing it at the Mint 400. Should be much stronger.
