  • Manual - Operations staff imperatively manage data center network devices using CLI, SNMP, and basic and discrete tools.
Semiautomated - Scripts and rules-based management combine with traditional tools for basic automation, and alerts that enable reaction to network events.
Software-defined - A software abstraction of the network infrastructure enables faster, secure deployment of services and applications.
Automation-centric - Builds upon the software-defined data center by automating provisioning, configuration, deployment, and orchestration.
Intent-based - Continually collects all pertinent data needed to take the automated actions that keep the network aligned with dynamic business intent, data center conditions, and policies.
    Translation -
Translation can capture and translate business intents into policies across the system.
    Automation -
It works under the assumption that the systems receive the Intent in some form of command and control requests either using API’s, SNMP or remote CLI’s. Automation systems need to integrate with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) systems to provide services like eliminating the delays, scale the environment and providing security.
    Assurance -
The system is continuously monitored to validate and verify if the system is functioning as per the specified Intent. It also provides remediation if any discrepancies is found with the stated Intent and Policies.
