How can you NOT love Alcest? They’re so talented and different. 💕
They have gorgeous atmosphere, quite minimalistic simple structures but still stay groovy and very melodic and they have some amazing build-ups and climax parts

i know it's been 7 months - but you're partially right - it's a drumming technique, yes, it's common in Black Metal, but in different metal subgenras as well, it's called blastbeats :)
Yeah, but it only works because there is such a gorgeous initial part that builds up. And when it explodes, it's ecstatic.

Both are fantastic. The type of bands to kick back immerse yourself in the music, preferably on a rainy or cold winter day.
LMAO I discovered Peste Noire, then Amesoeurs, then Alcest all 3 in 2016, and in 2020 Agalloch

Une fois de plus ALCEST nous délivrent un set empli d'emotions , de mélodies et ce sans complexes . J'aurais aimé quelques moreceaux de Shelter ,mais bon, certainement pas assez "metal" pour le Hellfest . Long live Alcest .

His best Vocals are on DUEIL ANGOISSEUS ( So good !!! ). But this Tiamat Gothic Soft Mix is not my Thing. Oliver L.

Cam is a Sony HDR-CX250E. Sound is not from the camera, it was recorded with a Zoom H1 and post-processed with Audacity and Calf Studio Gear.
