The part I loved is where Esther spends a lot of time beautifying herself before speaking to the King. There is a lot of wisdom in what she did. Make yourself beautiful before going to save the life of your people. Smart and beautiful.

We are Christian. One of my all time fav Bible studies was on Esther. Each character had a special sound (Vashti was “ooh la la) which we said whenever their name was mentioned. I used it w my elementary Sunday School class. They loved it
We are of course in Lent. Hubby (who’s a preacher) talked about Purim this AM in his sermon. Great video. Thx for sharing. Your kids are just too cute! Happy Purim

Ty so much for explaining your Jewish holidays, I enjoy learning about them, and you explain it so beautifully, to where others understand it. I know cowboys had to have a lot of dried foods. The only thing else I could think of was maybe beans. They are a lot of those. Since you already said jerky, nuts, and trail mix, that had the dried fruit in it. You could of also maybe got fruit leather/roll, which ever you call it.

I'm from Texas so believe me , Cowboys eat Chili and beans. You can also do like a fritz pie, it's feito chips with chilli on top with cheese and jalapeños. You can make kosher hot dogs for the kids . Fruits are watermelon, cantaloupe and for dessert ice cream cones

And if anybody wants to give me a thumbs down for what I am about to comment go for it, I don’t care. I’m also very happy that you and the other families have your Purim dinner catered. Yes, many families who want to make all of the food and do of the clean up. That is a ton of stress. I hope you and your friends have a wonderful celebration. I’ve seen your Shabbat dinner videos. I would have suggested cans of baked beans. And, when I was a kid, there used to be a shredded bubble gum in a little pouch (like chewing tobacco). But I don't know if that was ever kosher.
This year, my daughter just baked gluten free chocolate chocolate chip cookies, an apple and a small carton of milk. That was our m'shlach manot. My kids are all almost grown and they make their own costumes if they want. I'm old and 😉tired!

I try to include my grandchildren in the process when we prepare for holidays. I really think it helps them understand the meaning of why we celebrate the holiday the way we do. As a Christian our holidays are not the same as yours, but the inclusion of family in preparation is something we share.

My name is Haddass. I think it worth mentioning it as Queen Esther, which is a Persian name, real name was the Hebrew name Hadassah , which means the myrtle, one of the 4 odorant plants we put in the lulav, sukkot 4 minim (4 species of plants). I know I am bias of course, but I found Hadassah way more beautiful than Esther and am always very surprised that so few refer to her by her real name, and never even mention it (although it is clearly explained in the Meguilat Esther)…
