- Today Ryan and I were on pool 4 of the Mississippi River. We spent pretty much all of our time pulling Dubuque Rigs along a current seam and in a low flow area. Overall, we had some good luck! We caught quite a few decent saugers and maybe a few smaller walleyes off camera. As always, leave any questions in the comments below. Enjoy!

Take your favorite flavors then put them on wax paper put them in the microwave for 10 seconds roll it into a ball stick it in your mouth. No more than 5 pieces or you'll be salivating too much to enjoy
That's a great tip!
me too I use that, but I think mine is a bit different me I put a weight on the bottom, I don’t know how to explain it, 😆 but it’s a good way to keep myself on the leaderboard, I always use it for the fishing derby’s.
Does your rig use 2 baits on the same line?
Hit subscribe as soon as you broke down rig and presenting it good 👍
That means a lot! Thanks! We're trying to focus on sharing more details about what we are doing.
Can we send you some leeches for a future episode
Sure! Send us an email at positivelyfishingwi@gmail.com and we'll work out the details.
I like the content. However your using a Bellevue rig. A Dubuque rig has two stickbaits in tandem. I don't want anyone to go to Dubuque and be wrong. Those guys don't play. Nice video though. Love the Mississippi
Interesting. Everyone one in my area of the Mississippi River (pool 4) that I have talked to calls the rig I was using the a Dubuque rig. You peeked my curiosity so I'm going to look into this more.
I get my knowledge from fishing both pools 12 and 13. I also have a book called fishing the Mississippi by Dan Gapen. It is actually a fishing hot spots product. The one I have is specifically about pool 11. I believe there is one for all of the upper pools. It's a good 30 years old. So probably is out of print. Try the double Rapala rig. I have watched the guys in dubuque really do well on it. I prefer to pitch jigs. I cried after losing 2 Rapalas at once a couple times and I am
To cheap to keep doing it
@@johnmiller5987 I've actually found (well...snagged) a couple of those double rapala rigs. I was excited because I got 2 free baits! My question would be about the front rap. Would it have any action with another rap trailing behind it? I would be curious about the catch rate difference between the front rap and the rear rap.
Yes, it does deaden the action of the front Rapala. Sometimes that's what they want. Remember both rigs are best in cold water
Very good point!
You are crazy! Red is the best!!!!!
Nonsense!
Smash that like button guys
YES!
So if I'm looking at that right, your 3 way is like a sideways T?
It's set up basically like a regular 3-way but instead of your dropper being just a weight, it's a heavier jig/plastic. It should go main line to three-way swivel, dropper to a heavier jig, and trailer line to either a plain hook/minnow or a lighter jig.
@@positivelyfishing1810 thanks!
No problem! If you have any more questions, just ask!
It ended up being a great afternoon to be on the water!
I'm really glad we found a spot out of the wind!
Must be so fun to feel the takes in your hands like that!
It's awesome! Even the smaller fish just crush that jig/plastic!
@@positivelyfishing1810 no kidding! Now a just need a boat like yours 😅😂
Looks like it was a great day.
It was a lot of fun!
Blue Starburst best
I'm just talking about the OG Starbursts
Helps the channel
Indeed!
Cool
Thanks for checking it out!
not that it matters but some of the fish are actually saugeyes
You know, I was wondering about that. Which ones do you think are saugeyes?
@@positivelyfishing1810 they have white on the tail but not like a walleye.also saugers don't get as big..sauger should never have white on the tail.i have been trying to find out if the dns still have the same size limit as a sauger or as a walleye on saugeye . in the book it says (includes hybrids)
so your guess is as good as mine .
From what I understand most walleye in the Mississippi have some sauger genetics in them. And if I remember correctly there is no size limit on saugeye. That being said I would not argue with the warden that there is sauger genetics in a fish that looks like a walleye.
@@johnmiller5987 My understanding is that the 15" size limit is for walleye. Sauger and hybrids have no size limit. I just looked at the regulations and that's how I read it. Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Either way, I don't eat fish, so it doesn't really mater to me! 🤪
