- Someone asked me to do a demo / review of the other features of the #StrymonMagneto!
In this, I play with the Sample Feature!
I hope this accomodates that request :-)
Little playing about happens around @19:00 minutes if you just want to hear some droning
YES! finally I'm "somebody" 😅 great stuff, thanks for taking the time!
HAHAHAHAHA -- You are now "somebody"! And Ill be "that guy" 😂😂
I really like your content and youtube channel, thanks!
Thank you! It's always good to get encouragement and feedback!
Did you ever you explore Sound on Sound Looping? It records to tape head 4 (with feedback on), and once you tap out to set the loop, the loop gets added to constantly. And depending where the Repeats knob is set, the loops all decay and degrade over time. So if you have a sequence going, record it to the loop then transpose or divide/multiply your clock, or switch up the source entirely (for examples)...it all gets layered on. I'm still trying figure out the manual on pages 4 and 10 regarding heads 1-3 in the loop function. So far they act as delay for head 4, not for the incoming signal (page 4). I'll need to experiment more to understand the box on page 10.
That's a wildly interesting technique, and I'll have to give it a shot when I get mine back! I had to get it serviced cause a switch or something went bad -- Strymon took great care of me on that!
Anyways, yea, the manual is a bit tricky to navigate through, and definitely one of the longer ones I have encountered. I think tape head 4 is the front of the chain, so to speak, and so 3-1 follow afterwards (I think...). When I get it back, I'll play with it a bit! Thanks for the tip and comment!
@@boedye Thanks for the reply. I look forward to seeing more about Magneto! So much to figure out...but I've gone a bit off the rails with effects modules lately...oops haha
Wooo, magneto is back!?
Actually, it never left -- I just had two for a time, and sold the one!
arrrrggggghhhhh so frustrating to listen to
RAAAAWWWWRRRR WAARGGLE BWAAR!!! Incredibly insightful comment -- thanks!
@@boedye He’s most likely referring to the 7 minutes and 25 seconds it took before you actually started diving into the module.
@@A_S_M_R Completely aware of the criticism, he just wasn't terribly forthcoming with it 🙂
