Wow you two are really living the life. Really enjoy your narrative style, not overly faking enthusiasm. Wonderful to watch your crusing for us that only dream of it! Thank you.
Thank you for the new "Milton Keynes is Beautiful" tourist board video ladies. It really is a great place with over a million trees , loads of lakes and parklands within the boundaries. Even the much maligned roundabouts and grid roads keep traffic flowing and away from residential areas. So less pollution and safer roads.
Your cats are bursting with excitement, ready to explore as soon as they're released for the day. Very few cats would have such a life. Ours have to make do with the same routine - out into the garden at 8:30am, then they dribble back into the house one by one, until around afternoon tea time all 3 are home for a snooze until dinner at 5:30 to 6pm. Repeat endlessly 😻😻😻
That sounds like a great life for a cat. I wonder if ours miss their old routines. They do get impatient if we are moving later as they like to have outside time for the whole afternoon as they have an early curfew these days.
We did the Chinese and the Indian takeaway at Peartree bridge, and the Peartree bridge inn... yuuummmmyyyyy :-) Milton Keynes is a wonderful surprise on a boat, beautiful scenery and amazing public art. But nice to get away from the road noise when you're finally out the other side.
Its definitely a lot nicer than you expect it to be. And lots of nice parks to wander around if you get off the boat. So you recommend all the takeaways ?? We will have to try them next time!
Good video. There was some beautiful scenery and plenty of animals. I took a gander at the geese and was peeking at the ducks but that orange tabby riding another boat was the most beautiful. That was a relaxed feline.
Hi there NB Ladies. I don't think I would ever be able to calculate distances and time targets to arrive by. That Cruick craft show looks like a fab one. Have a great time there. I absolutely love seeing all other C C ers with their pets on board. I love that when we go for a little wander in the canal by ours. Leeds/ Liverpool . Thanks again for sharing your adventures. I love seeing your journies and learning curves.. plus Alice and Munchie. 😊🐱🐈💝
Brought a smile to my face today! It would be interesting to see the process of mooring up....how you choose, and what is involved. Liked your new idea with the center line. 😊
Wish I was but still around London. I was hoping to pick one up on my travels. You two are old hands at this compared to me. I’m still working up my cruising distance.
I wish I could but still around London. I hoped to pick one up on my travels. I’m new to this compared to you two and still ramping up my cruising distance. Need some sound cancelling headphones for my boat!
Hey Kath, google 'how to daisy chain a rope'. It is quick, easy to do and you can just throw it in a heap in the corner and your rope does not tangle. When you want to use it, just shackle the eye end to the middle of the boat and pull on the running end and the daisy chain magically unties itself with no knots (make sure you daisy chain from the right end though:)
Right Girls, been watching since you started CCing. Lots to say..sorry lol. First, has anyone told you make sure your rope is short enough to not get around the prop. Still reach each bank, yet save hours down the weed hatch cutting it off. Trying (and failing lol) not to post a novel. However when boating around here I did lot's of video of our waterways, something you might? like to watch in your spare moments. Just in case you decide to explore this area in the future. Lastly, excellent job filming. Lovely shots, keeping interest without the long boring bits most others do of just ...... well a waterway.
Hi there. Thanks for your comments, especially the filming complements. When we bought the centre line rope we measured out how long we needed taking into account the prop. It is also important that the rope isn't too short as that can be dangerous too. I've seen quite a few boats have difficulty with their centre lines not being long enough and Anna just re-told a great story about how a guy lost a finger thanks to a short rope. I'd rather spend hours cutting rope out of the prop! We are always mindful of all the ropes not just for getting in the prop but also for being a tripping hazard.
Yes it does need to be long enough. I had an 'education' early on. A very experienced boater, who lived aboard a wide beam working boat, came to Bardney. He tied his boat with one quite small line. I wondered if it would be strong enough, he ensured me it was, and was correct. As long as you're safe :) As I said I was boating from 2002 for a little over 10 years. On Wud-E-Nuff I did 1300 miles on my own one year, including a trip to Thurmastan Back to Bardney (my mooring at the time) in 2 days lol....at 6mph. Oh, also you just might like to read of my adventures. Before videos etc I had a website. It's still there. You can find the link on the homepage of my RUclips channel. If you do want any info on this area, please get in touch. Don't know if you know Robbie, but he came here early this year. Pity I didn't know beforehand, as he had already watched a few of my videos for info. Could have enjoyed a pint with him :)
Glad you enjoyed Milton Keynes. It’s my home town and it really is a lovely place to live. I often cycle on the canal boardwalk which runs beside the canal for a large part of its run through MK. Did you explore the park at Great Linford Manor House? There is a really nice canal side pub and restaurant, The Black Horse, not far from there. MK also has 200 miles of traffic free cycle paths - Campbell Park, Willen Lake and Ouzel Valley Park are all not far from the canal and are great for cycling.
We sell the mugs through a third party site as stocking them on the boat became too much. www.redbubble.com/people/narrowboatexp/works/30054945-narrowboat-experience?p=mug
Normal tea in the morning for Kath and I drink warm water with a squeeze of lemon. Then in the afternoon we indulge in a tea called 'Jade Mountain' it is terribly expensive from T2, so we share a pot and refill it for the whole afternoon lol. Happy?
Hi well we are now part of your work as of today we own a 63ft nb. Now I have to get it from cowroast to wigrams turn. Seeing as you are doing the same route can you suggest mooring sites in MK any nice place to moor up. I will be leaving on Thursday, but will be going to Crick Saturday. So will continue on Sunday any suggestion appreciated thanks
Congratulations!! There are lots of nice parks around MK to moor up. Even the public mooring closest to the shop is good if you don’t have cats to worry about. Maybe we will bump into you- not literally though I hope!!!
Did I miss the secret delivery for Crick? Can shoppers at Crick pay by card or do we need to bring cash? Thanks for another great video. I was up at 6am with the dogs so I’ve treated myself and watched 3!
No you didn't miss it - I think we are keeping it secret till the day now! We are hoping for internet signal so that we can take card payments. I think they have cash machines on site from memory but I imagine there is a charge for them...
Milton Keynes is looking very nice - what is that thing like a bit of a chimney you are using for a coffee cone?? I ask because Coffee Cones are like Hen's teeth but ideal for the nomadic life.
What’s happened to your car? Do you boat for a day then return and get the car then do the same the next day etc? or sold car so just boat and walk? Great video👍
You're right about the Chinese takeaway .. I've looked through their menu (in Google Map), the price is okay but the food is pretty luxurious for my liking, definitely not for (like you've said) casual boaters - it's good if you're having a once-a-week eat out or a family reunion I guess. Anyway, it was too early for King Prawns I guess?
On a boat, there are mooring lines, there are halliards, there are rigging lines, reefing lines, anchor chains. What there aren’t, are ropes. Ropes live on land only.
Annamarie I see that you use Windsor & Newton colours so I’ve seen these for thirty pounds off on Amazon Winsor & Newton Professional Water Colour Stick - Pack of 10 www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00O8R6XQG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_i_y1xaBbWWVQGSM Hope this is of help Regards Paul

It is lovely around the canal. Saying that, we don't mind the grid roads either!
Hiya Ladies great video again, lovely to see Alice and Munchy having fun on the towpath !! I loved that horse sculpture you went past.

Hope you get to Crick...A cuppa coffee and a cuppa tea will be waiting!! take care xxx
Yay! That would be lovely. See you there.

Thanks. The orange cat was great. Not at all camera shy ;-)

We had a little wander at the park but didn't see any Manor House though. Shame, I love a big house to look at!

Do you take the center lines off and coil them every evening when you stop? What brand or flavor tea do y'all drink?
We mostly do- depends on the weather- the area and how long we are mooring up. But more often than not we do like to protect the centre lines.
@@TheNarrowboatExperience Still curious about the tea.?
Normal tea in the morning for Kath and I drink warm water with a squeeze of lemon. Then in the afternoon we indulge in a tea called 'Jade Mountain' it is terribly expensive from T2, so we share a pot and refill it for the whole afternoon lol. Happy?

Its called an Aero Press - like a french press but less mess.
Look on RUclips for using an aeropress inverted, seems to make much richer coffee. ruclips.net/video/kQ8wvUKa35E/видео.html
Brilliant, girls, as usual😊😀👍
All love, and best wishes, Claire, Berlin 😘 😘 😘 😘 ✌ 👍
What’s happened to your car? Do you boat for a day then return and get the car then do the same the next day etc? or sold car so just boat and walk? Great video👍
We sold the car to make life easier. We haven't really missed it either which is great!

The Narrowboat Experience many thanks see you there
sorry to bug you guys but i forgot to ask you were can i buy a boat over were you guys live thank you jim
It's after Christmas, I'm broke right now.. Just for curiosity how for a Mug..?? And how much to ship it to Canada..?
You've still got 16-17 hours cruising to get to Crick, ladies! Around 37 miles and 22 locks.
Don’t worry, we will make it. The vlogs aren’t quite real time....
Very naughty Kath, we with the finger pointing at Anna, even if it is true !!! 👩🦳👩🦰😺😽
I want a mug please do you post to Adelaide Australia?.
Yes we post worldwide.
How do I do this then do you want to email me details?.
www.artbyannamarie.com
Do you ever sit out on the front on a sun lounger?
No its not very big.
I wanna go cruising now! where are you moored? can i come help?
That would be great!! We are heading towards Crick at the moment.
On a boat, there are mooring lines, there are halliards, there are rigging lines, reefing lines, anchor chains. What there aren’t, are ropes. Ropes live on land only.
My daily fix .
Annemar
PS the "Coffee" mug.. W(who)TF drinks tea..???
:)
Annamarie I see that you use Windsor & Newton colours so I’ve seen these for thirty pounds off on Amazon Winsor & Newton Professional Water Colour Stick - Pack of 10 www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00O8R6XQG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_i_y1xaBbWWVQGSM
