A little tip on the emergency brake cable just put a 13mm wrench on the nut that holds all that spring and everything together push up or back and you can flip the end out with your finger....no prying with a slipping screwdriver or using pliers.
i just did this install and this was a great tip. the o-ring on the backside of the caliper is what failed on me and i had fluid leaking from that 13mm bolt. it wasn't worth buying a $20 repair kit when these calipers cost $35 per caliper brand new.
Great videos but for the diy repair person you really should mention the important bits like bleeding the calliper ,you could always add in the notes of the video in case someone just puts the caliper on and drives away. Just my thoughts

I agree. They showed it like "oh, just wait till fluid leaks out then close the bleeder." I've changed one before, going back in to change it again (cheap Chinese knock off) so just trying to refresh my memory on it, and what wrenches to bring to the show.
Great video, but I do have a question: besides vise grips, is there a way to work a triple square if you cannot find one locally and the job needs to get done? I cannot find a m14 triple square bit locally to take the caliper carrier off, and using an allen key or star only strips a triple square....

Thank you for the feedback! Yes, after installation, it is necessary to pump the system and blow it out, and then add the brake fluid.Best regards, Autodoc.

Thank you for your feedback! You won't do without brakes bleeding, since when doing brake pipe dismantling, even if you unscrew it quickly and clamp it, an air will get into brake line which will cause an incorrect brake operation in future. best regards, Autodoc.
Installed new brake line end, caliper, rotor and pads. But brake fluid is leaking out from somewhere looks like the banjo bolt crush washer area. Are you supposed to use a sealant or maybe tighten the bolt more? Do I need a torque wrench? Just using a regular socket seemed like it was tight enough. Model is 04 passat 1.8t gls. With a 5 speed manual transmission.
Thank you for your feedback! According to the description, it is difficult to solve your problem, we recommend that you contact the service for a complete diagnosis and identify the cause of the leak. Best Regards, Autodoc Team!
Thank you for your comment! In your case, you should first put the rear brake into service mode, you can find a detailed manual in the technical documentation for the repair and maintenance of your car. Best Regards, Autodoc team

Safer using a prybar for the handbrake lever when removing the cable. Needs less force and it's broader so there's less chance of it slipping and stabbing your finger
Thank you for your valuable recommendation, we will definitely take it into account when shooting new videos and further replacements of these parts. AUTODOC

I will be changing my caliper on my 2004 passat.I plan on clamping the brake pipe and hopefully not needing to bleed the brakes

How about someone speaks and verbally explains what is happening for some of us that don’t work on cars everyday

That would be great because a lot of videos apply to my car and I’m not too experienced with working on cars
