💯 MATT your rear axle were getting a lot of axle wrap in the tug of war on the rear axle. Please have someone look at securing the rear suspension before you start having driveline issues. 💯💯💯💯

Actually the pulling point has to be as low as possible. And a very low Tyre pressure.
In tractor pulling, there are rules for how low your pulling point can be, for the same reason.

Thats the nice thing about diesels, you don't drop to gallons per mile until the turbo spools up. The 5 ton gets 10 or so MPG on the highway, thats Ferrari level

its evident Abel would have won, he did amazing! he only lost because of the physics of the monster truck pulling from a higher area. instead of the trucks pulling each other (which Abel would have won), the monster truck was pulling up and straight which gave a very key advantage.

Just retired 30 July 2020 after 36 years in the Canadian army as a leopard tank mechanic. (RCD and 8th Hussars with zipperheads as well as armoured school in gagetown) Was with 4CER in Germany on the badger and bridge layers too. Love the leopard!!! Great video! As far as the tug of war, the rope has to be level, he just lifted your ass. You were pulling with the front wheels. Leo is 45 tons(medium battle tank) my arv (armoured recovery vehicle, Leo with a lifting arm instead of a turret) was 40 by itself and 44 with a pack on the back deck.
His contact patch with those 800 pounds monster truck tires gave him an obvious advantage. Plus like Matt mentioned his truck sits higher pulling Matt up.

Best Tug-Of-War I've seen (on YT) is a tractor pulling tractor being schooled by a steam engine tractor. Torque (and traction) really is king.

Monster truck has softer suspension , he can squat without bouncing , Matt's deuce was just bouncing and losing traction . Angle on the rope wasn't enough to make a difference , that was all suspension .
That’s not how that works at all. He was hopping because he didn’t have enough weight. It’s all about weight distribution, Demo should’ve put tractor tires in his bed. And Demo actually had an advantage of being lower and having the rope at a lower angle, because his truck had a lower center of gravity and leverage; it’s simple physics. Regular trucks out pull mud bogger/ monster trucks all the time in truck pulls, as long as they’re lower, have decent tread, and have tires or people in the bed to weigh it down.

We went from fashion shoots in colorado to this. Channel is all over the place.
Because of the way physics work, the way the rope was tied, it gave WhislinDiesel an advantage since the rope was tied higher meaning you need to pull down while he pulls up giving him more downforce.
Matt now needs a tank, just for occasions such as this.
Captain CuntBunt Someone I know used to have a Centurion tank. They use like $400-500/hr in fuel and take like 12 truck batteries just to start the bloody thing. It’s insane!

Honestly, the pull angle killed it for me. Even when his truck was squatting, it was still pulling up at 20 degrees or so, basically eliminating your rear tires from the competition.
