As a reminder from the first two games, we're playing as a normal person who was kidnapped by Flumpty. He has kidnapped many people before you (the player), because of the newspaper in One Night at Flumpty's 1 and also his call confirms that it's for a game basically. You get to leave at 6 am, but this game reveals that you've never actually made it to 6 am. Therefore, we're stuck playing a third game with him and his friends

I haven't actually seen anyone else explain this, but in ONAF 2 with the exposure, you'd turn of all power, meaning that they couldn't see you, but your screen also couldn't charge.

The "room-switching-thing" isn't a new mechanic. It's a play on the owl mechanic from Flumpty's 2. In that game, the owl would alternate flying through each vent. In this, it's the room that alternates.

When I heard MatPats reaction on the counter not going over to 6 AM, then going back to 12 PM and say "Survive until 6 AM" during Dawkos livestream was great. It's a shame that I had to sleep during that time and had to watch the video instead.
Every time I hear stuff like "Yeah Scott went around and helped people with fangames" i hate that he was bullied out of the games industrie... Everything I hear about him paints him as nothing but a great guy who loved making games...
Same, but I think he said something at one point about making RPG games again, even though his previous forays into the genre fell flat. Maybe he'll make something again. Either way, many people have built their work on his legacy. Whatever his critics say, they can't undo that or take away from it.
Jonochrome himself mentioned that this game was never meant to be big on lore. While he did have lore planned for the final Flumpty game, he ultimately decided against it and just stick to focusing on gameplay with some tip bits here or there. But if you want Matpat, I can tell you what I might have pieced together from those tip bits. First off, the person you play as in all 3 games is the same final victim Flumpty kidnapped. Why did he kidnap the player is unknown, it could be for the sake of the lols or he captured you because he got triggered after watching you eat eggs for breakfast. The most likely reason I believe is because Flumpty Bumpty is lonely and wants more friends, nay a best friend. Flumpty has terrible social skills and isn't completely sure about right and wrong, which is why he has no qualms of killing people, especially since he can just revive his victims whenever he wants. After surviving the first night, your character was ready to leave, but Flumpty is kind of clingy as you're the first person that was ever been able to give him a fun challenge and isn't willing to let it you leave. With his powers, he reversed time and restarted the night but with a new set up to the formula (leading to Flumpty's 2) and then again in this game. At the end of the first night in this game, Flumpty kills the rest of the characters, even though the beaver and owl were already technically dead, and wants to pull an all or nothing gambit. He uses his powers to cause enough chaos as possible hoping for some way to make the player slip up, but again, the player succeeds. Flumpty finally decides to release the player, but you escape to a doomed world. I think this is because of one of 2 possibilities. Either 1: Flumpty is trying to trick the player to convince them to stay with them by showing that his domain is much better than wondering a doomed world or 2: This is an actual alternate ending where Flumpty doomed the planet by tossing a meteor on it one day as shown on the newspaper at the end of Flumpty's 2. Regardless, the player stays for one true, final night and once again comes out victorious. Flumpty finally accepts defeat and lets the player go back to their world in a nice, peaceful state. The "I'll miss you" moment is a genuine goodbye to the player from Flumpty as he flies toward some sort of star. Jonochrome had planned this game to have multiple endings aside from the ones actually shown here. Once of which is Flumpty nullifying his deity-like powers, bringing back all of his past victims, and then committing suicide. I think that's close to what's going on here. This is my personal take on Flumpty, though. I can't speak for Jonochrome.
The lore is that flumpty kidnapped the player into playing his “extreme hide and seek game” to become his best friend (flumpty doesn’t have the best social skills) but since flumpty is immune to the plot and can transcend time and space so he can reset time like in onaf 3,so we have never truly survived until 6am as said in the call of the start of the first night.
I really hope that Steph can make it for the St.Jude stream. Her high energy and overall fun demeanor is just what is needed to get people interacting and having fun, while also supporting an awesome cause.

I love that by the end of the night the camera screen is absolutely cluttered with nonsense bullshit schematics, with rooms changing places, an exposure bar, the giant door power switch way at the top in a section of building that descended from the heavens at 3am (or whenever), the foxy mechanic on the right side and the anti-foxy mechanic on the left side behind the furnace. It's incredible, and amazing. I love it.

Tip for Matpat (calm before the storm): Flumpty will first attack your front at around 90% (89% if your feeling risky or 91% if your wanna be safe) door power (as long as you don’t use your doors before hand) I have no idea how confusing what I just said sounds so I’ll try to explain When ever I wanna play Flumpty night I…- Start the night and immediately go to the furnace…- At the furnace I wait for door power to go from 91% to 90%…- then I head back to the starting position (looking down the hallway with one door on each side AKA the middle position) flip up the camera and go to cam five…- if Flumpty isn’t there I flip down the camera and flash the hallway (if he is I wait till he disappears from the camera then put down the camera and flash the hallway…- Just a little thing so when the night starts you can relax a little or mentally prepare for the chaos

The cactus is saying “I’m a cactus” a reference to the first games cactus, the onaf 2 exposure meter was avoided by turning off the light in the room. I’ve only gotten far enough to give those bits of knowledge
Oh and patience is a reference to the clown in onaf 2 popping into the room where you would have to turn off the light

I haven't actually seen anyone else explain this, but in ONAF 2 with the exposure, you'd turn of all power, meaning that they couldn't see you, but your screen also couldn't charge.

A tip for the "Patience" from the game over screen :
"If you cant flash, hide"
Which means you can flash it but lose a film...or just go to a different room...
He doesn't go away until you flash him, but if you go to a different room he can't raise your exposure meter, so it gives you time to prepare.

The "room-switching-thing" isn't a new mechanic. It's a play on the owl mechanic from Flumpty's 2. In that game, the owl would alternate flying through each vent. In this, it's the room that alternates.

I know there's a REALLY low chance that you'll actually see this - but there's this game.. it's called "Among the sleep" It didn't come out recently or anything, I just think it's a really great game and I would love to see your take on it. I wasn't around when you played ONAF 1 and 2, so I had to go back and watch that before I saw this. I think it's a pretty cool game!
PS: I just wanted to add that I think you guys are amazing. You guys deserve alot more than the subs you have now. Y'all put so much effort into your videos, and I appreciate that. I'll probably be buying your merch for Christmas or something. Same, but I think he said something at one point about making RPG games again, even though his previous forays into the genre fell flat. Maybe he'll make something again. Either way, many people have built their work on his legacy. Whatever his critics say, they can't undo that or take away from it.
Very, very late reply, sorry, but I swear, that man did so much for a fandom that didn’t entirely deserve it.
Jonochrome himself mentioned that this game was never meant to be big on lore. While he did have lore planned for the final Flumpty game, he ultimately decided against it and just stick to focusing on gameplay with some tip bits here or there. But if you want Matpat, I can tell you what I might have pieced together from those tip bits.
First off, the person you play as in all 3 games is the same final victim Flumpty kidnapped. Why did he kidnap the player is unknown, it could be for the sake of the lols or he captured you because he got triggered after watching you eat eggs for breakfast. The most likely reason I believe is because Flumpty Bumpty is lonely and wants more friends, nay a best friend. Flumpty has terrible social skills and isn't completely sure about right and wrong, which is why he has no qualms of killing people, especially since he can just revive his victims whenever he wants. After surviving the first night, your character was ready to leave, but Flumpty is kind of clingy as you're the first person that was ever been able to give him a fun challenge and isn't willing to let it you leave. With his powers, he reversed time and restarted the night but with a new set up to the formula (leading to Flumpty's 2) and then again in this game. At the end of the first night in this game, Flumpty kills the rest of the characters, even though the beaver and owl were already technically dead, and wants to pull an all or nothing gambit. He uses his powers to cause enough chaos as possible hoping for some way to make the player slip up, but again, the player succeeds. Flumpty finally decides to release the player, but you escape to a doomed world. I think this is because of one of 2 possibilities.
Either 1: Flumpty is trying to trick the player to convince them to stay with them by showing that his domain is much better than wondering a doomed world or
2: This is an actual alternate ending where Flumpty doomed the planet by tossing a meteor on it one day as shown on the newspaper at the end of Flumpty's 2.
Regardless, the player stays for one true, final night and once again comes out victorious. Flumpty finally accepts defeat and lets the player go back to their world in a nice, peaceful state. The "I'll miss you" moment is a genuine goodbye to the player from Flumpty as he flies toward some sort of star. Jonochrome had planned this game to have multiple endings aside from the ones actually shown here. Once of which is Flumpty nullifying his deity-like powers, bringing back all of his past victims, and then committing suicide. I think that's close to what's going on here. This is my personal take on Flumpty, though. I can't speak for Jonochrome.

The lore is that flumpty kidnapped the player into playing his “extreme hide and seek game” to become his best friend (flumpty doesn’t have the best social skills) but since flumpty is immune to the plot and can transcend time and space so he can reset time like in onaf 3,so we have never truly survived until 6am as said in the call of the start of the first night.
This part 30:36 when matpat was jump scared an ad just popped up randomly and makes it a perfect cut scream
I really hope that Steph can make it for the St.Jude stream. Her high energy and overall fun demeanor is just what is needed to get people interacting and having fun, while also supporting an awesome cause.

I love that by the end of the night the camera screen is absolutely cluttered with nonsense bullshit schematics, with rooms changing places, an exposure bar, the giant door power switch way at the top in a section of building that descended from the heavens at 3am (or whenever), the foxy mechanic on the right side and the anti-foxy mechanic on the left side behind the furnace. It's incredible, and amazing. I love it.
