    I agree with u. I’ve been djing 45 yrs going on 46 now and have embraced the 12 MK2’s and don’t have a single regret. I also have a Prime 4 and Numark V7’s and depending on the venue and price of course I should be good for the next 5 or so yrs. Great video👍🏾

      @@alchemix206 Your welcome. The V7’s were ahead of the curb way back then as well as the NS7 that set the bar for sure.

    excuse my question but in terms of feeling, why do you think is better using DVS Control tone than HID mode?

    • @alchemix206
      @alchemix206  9 месяцев назад

      It is minor and hard to describe for me,... but HID control feels just a bit more like a controller with conductive jogwheels to me and DVS timecode just feels a little bit more like real vinyl. Both are fine, I just prefer a more classic vinyl feel.

      @@alchemix206 thanks fot the reply. But still dont get it. How can a rane twelve (motorished turntable) feel like a conductive jogwheel if you don´t use DVS mode? 🤔

      @@djatuncontomate I felt the same way about my CDJs when I used them HID in Serato. Something about connecting them to software reduced their measurable dexterity compared to how the jogs felt in standalone (possibly the extra latency?). I can also hook up my Omni one wire DVS and don't prefer it, I also did not like the first Phase that lacked RCA time signals as well. This is barely noticeable for most but I've seen other DJs demonstrate their ability to "scribble" (I believe it was Cleveland Terry) faster using timecode signals on here. Just a minimal difference and possibly not even very noticeable if you don't come from an analog vinyl background, but definitely an issue I've heard others voice as well.

    I am contemplating buying either a pair of Twelves or a pair of RP 8000 Mk2. Interesting to see you own both. I'm a turntablist DJ so the weight, feel and tension of the platter is really important to me. I dont need to play Wax, I have a pair of Str8 150's for that. The clean set up of the Twleve appeals to me, yet the additional midi buttons on the RP8000 mk2 will come in handy for stems mappings. How do you find the reliability of the Twelve? I've read up on a lot of issues with the decks spinning up fast for no good reason (both in HID and DVS mode). Is your Twelve reliable and stable? Does it feel as good for cutting as your RP8000 mk2?

      The Rane Twelve MK2 has been rock solid for me. the Reloop however has not been as reliable. I often end up having to pull the midi cable on the 8000 due to weird DVS signals and end up loosing the extra controls I wanted it for in the first place. Reloop is an amazing turntable, but has consistently caused a lot of trouble for me especially the last two gigs.

      @@alchemix206 Thanks for the response - really appreciate the feedback. I decided to pull the trigger and got a pair of Twelves this week. They are indeed awesome units....but my problem is it feels a bit different to vinyl on a turntable. I tried several slipmats, tried using wax paper, using the supplied washers, and even tried swapping the acrylic discs for Serato control records - but it just doesnt feel right to me. When I do drags and tryng to get in a lot of fader cuts on one record movement, the Rane 12 seems to "pull my hand" forward" quite a bit more than a regualr turntable does - this really messes up my cuts. After spending 3 days messing with it, I found it works best for me with Dr Suzuki slipmats, black Serato vinyl (i find the black ones to be thinnest and lightest) and just one supplied washer. That aside...the units are great. Pitch fader is very smooth and accurate to me, the motor has plenty torque and I absolutely love using them in DVS mode as the pitch control feels a lot more "natural" to me than using HID mode. Thanks once again for your input. By the way, have you tried a firmware update on your RP8000's? Might help with the Midi issues.

      @@alphaza76 I found pretty much the same thing, one washer and I only like one butter rug between the control surface and platter. I have not updated my firmware on the reloop yet, my issue was the right angle MIDI cable that was supplied with the unit from what I can tell but that is a great suggestion brother. Im glad you were able to dial in the 12s to your liking.

    Just a quick question!
    I came across a steal deal on 2 Decks but they mk1
    For 800$ for both!
    Should i jump on them or they are worth nothing and Just get the mk2 for double?

      in my opinion id rather have the mkiis. I've had to use midi cable DVS in certain situations but prefer an actual timecode being transmitted.

      That thing looks awesome! I haven't heard many complaints but I do like the spindles on the rane one for the potential to throw on real wax.

    If you come from a technic 1200 background, then get it. If you have tiny girlie hands, then get a pioneer controller..lol

      I still love my Rane 12 and was really hoping my boys at Skratch Attach would drop a modular tone arm add on for it so I don't have to sell a kidney for a CRSS 12... But it doesn't seem like that's gonna become a reality for me. : (
