i love this reporter - his empathy really comes across, not like other reporters who provoke people with harsh questions trying to squeeze every little awful detail about what they experienced until they cry. this guy asked good questions while remaining respectful of what they just went through - he didn't interrupt and listened to their story without pushing for the gory details. I really appreciate his gentle display of care and empathy. Well done. God bless the restaurant owners and the people in KY.

I was just talking to my friend about that.. I watched one reporter, a woman, ask 2 separate people on 2 different videos, ask the person, are you sure it was a tornado, just like a few hours after they were hit.. UNBELIEVABLE!! It is cringe worthy! 🤔😣😠

I love these folk's attitude... even if it is "just shock". You will rebuild, and you'll have a new memory to add to the 75 years of memories. You'll have the additional memory of survival and perseverance! You have your home and you have your lives... but most of all you have hope!

My Hometown GONE!!!! Breaks my heart. Ate at Carr's Barn as a kid. It was special. So sorry for everyone. It was one of the old places that still stood after all these years.

WOW -- I used to eat at Carrs Barn every time time I visited Mayfield.. My family members are all gone now, but I enjoyed the food .. These folks know some of my family..
I feel for them, we went through a direct hit from hurricane micheal in 2018. A cat 5. When he said he didn't even know where he was going in a town he grew up in,, brought back memories. God bless you

Ef3? That was the rating of the tornado as it passed through bowling Green. It was an ef5 as it went through Mayfield and Brandenburg
We do need the old rating system back. The new one depends too much on how well built structures are that were destroyed and they allow that to tell them the wind speed instead of radar readings that show higher wind speeds.

I do not believe this was a EF3 at all. They are still doing surveys on it though.
I mean, there's still buildings standing in the background.
Some houses were blown off their foundations. Whether they were strapped down or not, this is hardly a "middling" storm.
@@shawnnewcomer4879 Unfortunately, the new rating system views a storm where many houses were not strapped down as around an EF-3 or high end EF-4 at the most. How poorly a house was built should not matter more than the wind speeds.

My hometown. Me and my grandfather would go to Carr's in the 60's to eat BBQ or burgers. I have sat on those barstools when I was a kid and teenager.

I am not a rich man but I will be sending $20 on the 31st to the governor‘s relief fund I don’t have the money until then and every American should be donating to help the people who have been devastated by the series of storms it could will happened to us in a flood, Tornado, hurricane, wildfire, earthquake, or other natural disaster and I would truly feel for the people who have lost everything and for the families of those who died

I'm not a major religious person, but I talked to a friend not long ago. As easy it is to blame God on these tornadoes, don't forget the devil is to blame as well.

@@phillipaj.5588 God does not use natural disasters to punish wrongdoers. This was plainly "time and unforeseen occurrence" as the Bible says. Yes, the Bible is honest and the word of truth. You really need to learn what it really teaches so you don't make further inaccurate statements about God.
We are imperfect and live in an imperfect world due to Satan trying to get people to do wrong, but not all things are directly caused by him. Natural disasters are what the Bible calls "time and unforeseen occurrence". As for God, he only allows bad to happen. He is not the cause, but he can help people get the strength and endurance to get through this. He also will resurrect dead loved ones to be with their families and friends again.

Those were NOT EF3s with all that widespread obliteration. I say more like a 4 possibly, a 'weak' 5. Not only do they have a massive cleanup ahead but they'll have to deal with the cold and freezing temperatures too.

Sucks. But people don't leave home ground over a storms and floods. They rebuild but hopefully they work together to prepare another next time. Where I live the problem is flooding. People just rebuild and I think oddly the damage brings money for construction and jobs and new businesses replace old ones...
And it still wasn't as much damage as covid restrictions did to their business.
Is there anywhere people can send canned goods, dry goods & stuff these people will need? So much devastation! How can regular people like myself help these folks? I would love to send food stuff for them, clothing, medical supplies & other things they need right now.
