Bobcat Hunt with Hounds in New Mexico Mountains! Dog Hunting

We got to go on a Bobcat hunt with hounds in the mountains of New Mexico! This is from the Total Outdoor Pursuit show that airs on Hunt Channel and Carbon TV. Chris Moehring and Casey Davis from High Country Outfitters took us out with their dogs and we treed a nice Bobcat! This is part 1 of our trip.

Chris n Casey are good friends of mine. Guided Elk hunts with them for some time. Good guys to be around and they do know thier business. Glad you were able to enjoy the friendship i am fortunate enough to have with them. Hope to see the both of them again soon.

You guys had me worried with some of those lion tracks. Because they weren’t. Maybe you didn’t mean it that way? Might have been me expecting lion tracks and not getting them. But great job on the bobcat! Congratulations. I love finding the “sitting bobcat” followed by a large leap. And then I go looking for signs of the catch. And if I find them, I pretty well know it is a caught bobcat. They can’t run much with a rabbit inside. Looks like a beautiful female New Mexico bobcat. You are lucky to have such pretty cats. He is a wise handler leaving those hounds in the box when he for sure wants that bobcat caught. That takes a lot of self discipline and a business like attitude. Because it is a lot more fun to watch the pups mess everything up and make it impossible for her. Hopefully you know it takes a LOT better dog to tree most fresh bobcat than it does to tree most fresh lion.
You were blessed to be able to witness that level of dog work, And smart handling. Great job!
