But he is not a professional chef or even known in the foodie/travel community, so who is he to judge? Instead of having this tone of trying to win him over, it should have just been him enjoying local spots in Philly. He is definitely the wrong guy for this job. The local host, Natalie, was fantastic. So energetic and fun -- and the host of the show, Justin Lizama, just fell flat and seemed like a buzzkill. My favorite is summertime when certain spots have the beautiful lights strung up on all of the trees & the hammocks set up. Ugh such great memories 🥰 & the food?!? I mean, the selection alone will leave you mind blown.

Other American cities set their template based on NYC. But Philly, having been the first major American city, set its template on Paris and London of the 1800's. Those New Yorkers who visit often eventually realize Philly is a unique culture, not just a bad "Minnie-me" version of NYC. They would not be so close minded if they went to Paris, London, or Rome; but they don't immediately grasp that Philly is a world class city with its own identity.

I live in Philly and my favorite spots for cheesesteaks are. John's roast pork cheesesteaks. Dallasandros. Carmen's. Max's steak. Woodrows. Cleavers. Larry's steaks.
Came back. Murph's is overhyped. It was hipster heaven and some of the items they had were no longer on the menu and they weren't willing to make them (understandably). The fried mozzarella also tasted like frozen mozzarella sticks but in ball form.
I've watched all of these so far because the concept and the locals are great, but the host is terrible. He just latches onto a phrase and says it 10 times per episode "Philly is aggressive" jeez it _will_ be if you say that one more time

Philly Native here and while I understand people have different opinions Steves Prince of Steaks is not even close to other places by a LARGE majority of Philadelphians. She said she likes it not chopped up, that's fine, but if you want a real Philly cheesesteak its Delessandros, Johns Roast Pork, or Jim's. And a real Philly cheesesteak MUST have cheese wiz.

It makes me pissed and depressed as fck because I grew up there pre-gentrification but I since moved away when my parents moved to the southwest. When I first heard what happened to my neighborhood I was shocked. I went home to visit and everyone but one neighbor I knew was gone, she told me they’d all been bought out of their homes & a bunch of fcking yuppies with fancy cars lived there now.
