This song is absolutely insane! The MV is god tier and the song is a certified banger! I knew this would be legendary when I saw Toby Fox AND Camelia were involved in this. I had high expectation and it blew them to hell and back! (Also, the live version is amazing too :D) I've been looping this for a while now, and watched reaction to it XD
There are heavy implications that the Ghost Marine is the one from I'm Your Treasure Box. There are a few frames of what's actually in that large ornate chest, and It's a skeleton curled up, which transitions into a not-so-healthy-looking marine in the same pose. I'm surprised you missed it. She's even dressed the same as the Shackled Marine from that video
Add in the I'm Your Treasure Box motif at the end of the song, and it's even more believable. Also, I'm pretty sure there was a motif from Treasure Box earlier when the skeletons were first head-banging (or rather, body-banging? That doesn't sound right). It's an earlier part of the song, but still definitely it. Is motif the right term? Or would they be sampling from it? Or is there another term that is escaping me? Sorry, I haven't ever actually studied music theory, so someone with a better understanding of the differences between those, please clarify for me.

There all so well done and get better with each video, she’s really one of the gems of vtubers and the music industry.
This is true but we are talking vastly different scales and scopes. The difference between a 4 min video animated really well and 4 hours of an entire season of anime are ludicrously different scopes. Marine obviously had to have paid a ton for this level of quality and that still would barely be a drop in the bucket for the cost of an actual season of anime on this level of quality not to mention multiple seasons and this is not even talking about the time it would take to make.
I loved saturday's vid!! I had never watched Bagel before but knew i had to sub after watching it, she's so cute!! This video was esp good because I hadn't seen it yet, so I got to watch along for the first time with you :D Marine's music videos are always on some other level, it's crazy. Treasure Box used to be my fav MV so the references made it so awesome.. This is definitely my new favorite MV, it lowkey makes me emotional ;-; Loved today's video, thank you!!
Don't know the story about how the "Marine x Toby Fox" collab started but she was a big fan of Undertale and probably first contacted them in order to ask permission to do a song/parody of "Death by Glamour". Since he's also worked on her with an original song "Marine Treasure Box" a couple years back. You can actually hear a refrain of the melody from Marine Treasure Box in this MV
The fact that marine keeps doint these paying with HER OWN money still blows my mind. The same way it blows my mind that you havent seen her "treasure box" music video also with toby fox music.
Speaking of throwing money at Marine, she just announced her first Full Album release! The special edition is $80 and comes with both a CD and a Blu-ray - of what I am assuming are the MVs of her songs on the album, this song included. It all comes packaged in a treasure box!

She's not a diva like others talent, but SHE ALWAYS bring so much surprise to the fans.. She give a perfect visual with a perfect aransement, didnt forget with the storyline in the MV that become the main of the lyrics, And that heavy metal tho? DAMN!
Absolute banger, the song slaps so hard, Toby and Camellia are just an amazing duo, add Marine's vocals, just incredible. There were a few callbacks to I'm Your Treasure Box, when the headbanging skeletons first appeared and at the very end. And then of course the MV, the animation is just immaculate, as one would expect from that credit list. Fantastic job by everyone involved. My recommendation is Watame's original song Revival, it's a banger as well.

This time, Camellia and I created a song for the legendary pirate, Houshou Marine! It's got an amazing music video, so check it out! [A picture of the MV's thumbnail which links to the upload] Marine's desire was for us to create a "boss song" about her... A serious, intense song, that doesn't pull any gags at all! As a song reference for this, they sent me... "MEGALOVANIA". ... Anyway, I tried my best to make something cool. Marine's basic concept for the story was about her fighting with a ghost version of herself. Camellia and I actually ended up fleshing out this story concept while writing the song, and it ended up being used as a basis for the video! Some of my creative highlights include, "there's a moment where the two Marines' faces become close in the middle of the battle"... ghost Marine's special attacks... and, the plot twist. "
Fun fact. Her birthday was yesterday ( 30th of july) There's a whole birthday celebration merch set on the official hololive store. You could get that. Although admittedly, the set is rather pricey since it includes a hoodie & a teddy bear ( stuff adds up to a lot since hoodies on average are not cheap) BUT you can always get a single merch of the set you can afford OR buy her 1st album for like 22$ There's also an acrylic stand for around11$ I get the struggle I don't have that much merch myself 😅
