I was very depressed when I found this song, like suicidal. I listened to it everyday. I went to a library when I would skip college and just stare at the sky out a window thinking about life while listening to this. Fast forward about 8 months later I'm in a much more positive state of mind, but every time I listen to this song now, I get a shiver down my spine and a weird feeling in my chest just of the sheer memory of how I used to feel back then. Thought I'd just share that ☺
Shevy Hey, I know how it feels like to be in tough times like that. I know you say you’re in a positive state now, but if you ever feel down, feel free to share how you feel here, k?
Kind of a relatable situation for me. When I was 7 yo, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Everything was fine, I was medicated with a treatment that would suppress your immune system but I was fine. Fast forward to August 2019, I was not feeling good at all. I was hospitalised for 5,5 months (until mid january 2020). I listened to this song a lot while I was in there. It reminds me of what I’ve been through and that life can be shit aometimes, but you gotta appreciate it when it’s not. Btw for those who read, while I was hospitalised, they tried everything they could with no success. I had to get a total colectomy (removal of the colon+rectum) and now I have an ileostomy. Anyway, this song is great
I feel that. i also wasn't in a great place when i first heard this. first time smoking as well at the same time. The nostalgia that emits from this song is unmatched to me. Never felt anything quite so Nostalgic before. It made me feel like everything is going to be okay. and it will be!!!! :) keep pushing! we must survive!
Hey. May be a tad bit late but still hope you're in a better place of mind. For me its more or less just a calming and chill song but I get how music and environment create a healing athmosphere. Just a lil comment passing through to wish you best of luck. Also to all the others carrying their burden, you're not alone. It may seem like you are but you are not. Keep it up! We all got this one perticular song that helps us on our way and I hope you find yours in this one.
Everyone is complimenting this song, how beautiful it is, and how much more recognition it deserves. The reason it's beautiful is because it samples Tomas Dvorak's music ("The Glasshouse With Butterfly" soundtrack for Machinarium). If you like this song at least recognise the original creator (who by the way makes some gorgeous music)
lol what a great original thought. its no secret that this is a sample from machinarium, but because you already read the other comments, I'm sure you already knew that :)
This song reminds me of my first night in Paris last summer. Staying with a host family, and I was up in my room with the window wide open, letting a nice cool breeze come in as I was leaning over the railing just looking at the Eiffel tower late at night, seeing the lights shimmering, and seeing planes flying overhead. I probably stared out that window for 2 hours just taking it all in
2016 - early 2018 lofi still resonates, it shines brighter. those were the days underground artist make real lofi now lofi is mainstream it lost the juice. the Listen Men part makes me cry i dont know but cold existence remains one of my faves
yee feel you, existence is one of these classics i found out on ChilledCow (Lofi Girl) stream early 2017 when this was still the original GIF we loved so much, i was so intrigued to find something i basically always looked for. crazy to think it's one of the most popular if not the one lofi channel everyone saw at least once on YT and we were like a thousand there, was comfier haha
Lofi doesnt exist anymore. It’s completely souless now. We had really really beautiful songs and artists back then who could really touch our hearts. The worse of all is it feels like all that was forgotten and not even recognized and rated as it should 😢
You've found an old glasshouse. It's all rusty and most of the glass panes on the roof are dirty and some of them even fell of. It's all quiet but you keep hearing weird rattling noises. On the backside you've noticed an old air conditioner. It's still slowly turning its dull metal blades. Since no one's around, you've decided to climb up the wall and disconect the motor thus making this place completely silent. Because you were curious of what's inside, you've carefuly pulled the falling-apart motor out and climbed up the vent. At the end of the narrow tunnel you've bumped into some bars. It was a cover with holes for the fresh air from outside. You've grabbed it and gently started shaking. Strangely enough, the cover fell right off and stayed in your hands. You've carefuly jumped down and landed on a table. It shaked, but didn't break under your weight. You've get down on the floor and had a look around. Right infront of you is an old-school projector, but it probably won't show anything because the front lense is missing. You've followed the power cable to a really weird looking socket with something you could describe as a puzzle safety lock. You've managed to solve all six riddles and unlocked the power suply. You've turned on the first outlet which lead to the projector and as you expected, it only showed a small dot on the screen above the table. Disapointed by the projector you've turned on the second socket as well. Right after that you've heard some noises behind you. When you thurned around there was a strange machine in the middle of the room. It was shooting a wauge red beam towards a cracked flower pot filled with nothing but dirt. On the floor right next to the pot was lying a seed. You've picked it up and threw it inside the pot. The seed started shaking and then magicaly grew up into a wonderfull sunflower. You've also noticed other plants slowly dieing in this wrecked place. You've got an idea and pointed the machine on those plants too. All of them started spreading leaves and blossoms. From one of the plants also flew out a butterfly. He was light blue with six red dots, three on each wing, and started flying from one side of the room to the other. Because there was nothing else to do, you've decided to leave. You've grabbed a rusty key from a small hook next to the exit and opened the door. When you stepped outside, you've looked around and noticed that the butterfly followed you out. As he was leaving towards the clear sky, you've smiled at him, raised your hand, waved few times, and started headding home...
All my life I have been alone, I really feel like I do have a cold existence, this song makes me feel so nostalgic and calm at the same time. The only person I have ever loved left me and I have been alone ever since just feeling so numb. Years go by but I don't feel any better, sometimes I wish I had someone to at least listen this kind of music with. I feel music like this is the only thing that keeps me alive. I am glad at least I am not the only one that enjoys it and just that, makes me not feel so alone.
Incredible track. The sample fits perfectly. For those wondering its by an artist called Tomas Dvorak and the track is 'The Glasshouse With Butterfly'. Mesmerising stuff.
I think this may be my new favorite video on youtube.. the visuals and song are just.. absolutely incredible. Please never delete this or make it private! Big ups Axian!

This song reminds me of a nanachi world in VRChat from 2018. I believe it was called Lexi's world by Lexidoll. It gives me hardcore feels. Like sadness, old memories, how things were, how life isn't going as planned and i'm just like that smug falling image of myself falling endlessly in a dark abyss almost like i'm in a dream or lost in my own thoughts. I might even go as far as to say perhaps even questioning my existance or what is my life's purpose like in a deep 2 am conversation around a warm campfire. Just endlessly falling carelessly and without a thought feeling while feeling chill, sad, and a bit meloncholically-numb at the same time. It also feels like saying happy birthday to a close and best friend and celebrating their birthday with a full cake even though they have long passed away years ago but are alive in your memories as if it were yesterday. That's what this song makes me feel.
Every time i couldnt remember this song name, i went to the "lonely day lofi mix" on cloudx music, before he removed the song (along with others for copyright) it was always after hearing the machinarium song on a chill game soundtrack mix. Beautiful song, and a beautiful use of the sample too.

Glad you dig it Mugen, and yeah, that was intentional :)
It might be fucked up, but I adore how this song and its vibes make me feel like I’m nothing. It’s really calming
ain't fucked up, the lack of pressure from the ongoing action to prove your worth is really relaxing
That's not "fucked up". That a Buddhist point of view.

Perhaps you should listen to "The glasshouse with butterfly" by Tomas Dvorak, and the entirety of the Machinarium OST. An equally relaxing experience.
