Kingston has a lack of resources for mentalhealth help. The daytime murder of an innocent bystander proved this. The murderer went to AMHC on Princess Street and another Community Service but received nothing from them. We're in our 8th year of the 10 yr " housing plan" and the homeless list is beyond 300 souls with no where to turn. Many tourists complain that they're harassed by pan handlers. Our city seems only to focus on what's nice for the rich and forget about the rest of us. City monies are spent extremely unwisely.
Stay in the city, and away from the outskirts. I’m married to a local girl and we are moving back this summer because, where we are in the states is similar. You need to be born in, married in or will never be part of the community. Yes, the restaurants in the city are very good.
I can see how you could feel that way! Kingston may not technically be a small town but it can have that small town feel as though everyone knows everyone else...unless you are not from here. But, I do know many people who are "from away" who fully feel as though Kingston is home and their community now. Exciting that you are moving back here!
Are you able to make a video on renting apartments and suggesting which apartment management to go with. Also which neighborhoods to live in kingston for young professionals
I'm from Oswego County NY originally. On our side of the lake and going up the east end of Lake Ontario there's no big towns like this until you get down to Syracuse. How do I move to Canada? My grandmother was born in Prescott, Ontario, does that help?
Tenzin 68. I am not sure how I missed this comment! I am not sure if your mother being born is Prescott will help you move to Canada but in my opinion it should!! ;).
You need to make 70-100K a year to live here comfortably. I’m not even sure 70K is enough. Almost got a home just before Covid, it won’t happen ever now. I’m 41. Don’t come here, please just stay away! Save Yourself!
Sadly, it is a challenge to afford to live just about anywhere in Southern Ontario right now. With inflation and the cost of living having climbed so drastically and the price of housing having spiked across the country a formerly good salary does not go as far as it used to. Kingston prices have only just kept pace with the rest of the country.

Sadly , Kingston is NOT AMAZING !! as a senior returning to this city after 16 years away , it is downright UNFRIENDLY !! . And it is known for this snooty colder than ice reputation throughout Canada ... Good try Lisa 🙄

Pajji part time job easily available in kingstone but if you are looking for skill job then may be difficult part.

The waterfront is nice, historic, with lots of nice restaurants, but the rest of the city is a dump.

It certainly has had some very cold days recently. Yesterday was one of them! Today, much better.
