I just found your channel and I'm honestly swept away. Your videos look very professional and they are so enjoyable, and the info you share are short and clear. I feel like I get the benefits of a pro documentary with the informal touch of real life people who experience the places they film to the fullest. I am very curious how the lovely Karla (whose wonderful energy pops out the screen) was able to adjust to such a different and extreme climate when she moved to Canada.
Wow, what a thoughtful comment. Thank you. For all our latest videos where we go more into cities, towns, etc, we've been doing them a little more blogging style to suit the platform but I do like this style quite a bit. For Karla, it wasn't that bad. For the most part, you're indoors and when you do go out, if you dress well, it's not that bad. When it's super cold, none of us are used to it haha. But a big part is probably that she enjoys the winter because we like skiing, skating, etc and it looks beautiful. Plus, in the west, the winter is a dry cold. We were just on the east coast and that humidity makes it feel so much worse
I'm from Scotland and I wanna move here to test my strength on the cold, in the winter here it can get up to -15 degrees C. But I go outside in shorts and a hoodie and I don't really feel the cold, so I wanna feel the difference here.

Very nice video. I’m really glad to see so many canadian winter videos popping up over the past 3-4 years. Winter has always been one reason I love Canada. I’ve lived in Edmonton my whole life, which gets to -30 to -40 for 2-3 months or so in winter, but It’s not real winter without severe sub zero temperatures and a ton of snow. I heard Calgary was supposed to get 60 cm of snow recently. I wish you two luck :)
Nice video for people from warmer climates. I lived in Montana for many years, everything is just as you say. Are you in Kimberley by any chance? The outdoor scenes of skiing, snowshoeing, etc. sure looked like Kimberley.
try to get to Kimberley in the new year. when it's sunny and -10 or warmer, the sun pits on top of the ski hill are a blast. locals dig them out like tiered seating in a stadium and there are sometimes 150+ people from all over the world, sun tanning, live music, moon-shine and beer, and friends you never knew you had. you're only a stranger until you introduce yourself once.

Where are you guys, cause from where I'm from -25 is seasonal and kids still go to school in -30. They just might not have outdoor recess if there's added wind chill. Something I thought was standard in the country shocked me to find that other provinces close schools at or near -30. Sure you gotta bundle up, but it makes -20 balmy when you get it, to the point where after a cold snap (with -40 wind chill) you find double digit temperatures spring jacket (read thin jacket) weather. Ps, you can survive the winter without central heating, it's called wood heat, like with a wood stove. I know lots of people who have done it for years, and it cuts down on bills because you don't have to pay for heat.
We're in Calgary and I don't think the schools close here that easily either. I lived up North most of my life and we definately didn't get school cancelled often. Wood can definately work for cabins and rural homes possibly, but if everyone did that, there'd be no trees left haha. And it would also be expensive. But I do love a wood fire when I'm at a cabin. So cozy :)
@@MustDoCanada several people in my area heat with wood, only taking dead fall. Been doing it for over a decade and the trees are still flourishing. But yes, you do need a lot of wood to heat your home for the winter, but that really depends on how well insulated your house is and if there are any draughts. One set of friends has to stoke the fire every hour or so just to keep it going. Which means through the night as well, but their house is on the breezy side. Whereas another couple get away with a day time fire and stay toasty of the residual heat at night. And that bit on the schools closing, I was just repeating what I heard on the news. The fact that the reporters were shocked people in my area still send kids out to recess in weather that would make adults in some places cower in frostbite fear and give kids days off school until the cold snap is over. And yes, if everybody in the cold parts of the world did heat with wood and wood alone, we'd not last many winters but man, nothing beats warming up by a fire after being outside in winter, especially when you're unlucky enough to have no choice about going out to care for animals in -50 wind chill.

The sunshine smile melted me.
I feel we need to watch it again to see it haha. Thank you
I'm from Scotland and I wanna move here to test my strength on the cold, in the winter here it can get up to -15 degrees C. But I go outside in shorts and a hoodie and I don't really feel the cold, so I wanna feel the difference here.
haha wow, well in that case, you might like it! Our avergae temp is probably around -20 but it definately gets to -40 at times
Where are you in Canada? It seems we have the same winter temp -54 degree C we experienced here 😁 it was awful yet fun.
oh wow, we're in Calgary now which does not get that cold. We might get one week of -30 but it's more likely to be around -20. It's actually 0 right now. But I lived in Fort.McMurray for 20 years. Where r u?
Must Do Canada I’m from Philippines and 6 years living in Yorkton Saskatchewan. Tonight the temp is -7 and feels like -12 not bad so far 😁 Thank you for replying my comment. Take care
Snow is beautiful,
I love the cold a lot more then the hot, the hot is just so stressful and makes you sweat and ruins your clothes with humongous sweat stains, while the cold just sends a chill down your spine, plus I love wearing hoodies❤️
trueee
Live in Saskatchewan for almost 5 years I went through all of those experiences.
+1
Great video...I hope to visit some day I love the cold...please where are your boots from? X
Which one of us? hah
I love Canada so much God please take me to Toronto Canada Amen
Thank you for sharing beautiful video, and excellent comments, and photography 👌👌👌
Glad you like it! :)
I had a friend from Egypt. He told a friend back home that we have to plug in cars when it’s cold, and his friend thought he was joking. 😂
haha it does sound like a joke, but no its true!
I'm from Singapore and I want to see, feel and play winter with my eye even one time in my life.
I came here from Singapore too,but dear the cold is really really harsh i wish i could go back to SG every single day :(
Hi guys! Beautiful video! Amazing nature 🙌 especially in winter
I love you guys!!! Such a joyful, cheerful and lovely couple. Thanks for the video.
Thanks!
I wish you two luck :)
haha true, Edmonton is very much a Canadian winter! And yes, more winter videos coming!
@Zayan Tahir haha, it was close to -40 but only a week.
Nice video for people from warmer climates. I lived in Montana for many years, everything is just as you say. Are you in Kimberley by any chance? The outdoor scenes of skiing, snowshoeing, etc. sure looked like Kimberley.
We're in Calgary, so mountain shots would be Banff. But we'd love to go to kimberely one day!
They make winter look so fun haha
Winter is fun! As long as you're not going to work and dealing with all the hassle haha
But i am sure that they have put so much of hardwork and passion just for this video
❤❤❤😊it's interesting to know the details about winter in Canadian neighbourhood.
It's amazing!
Thanks for sharing with us your winter's routine.
people from cold climate making videos for people from hot climate.... best usage of internet ever
Beautiful video presentation of winter in canada .... I really enjoy watching this video , excellent 👍😁
Thank you so much
Managed/endured -25 in Anchorsge but not certain if I want to even attempt to visit Toronto during winter.
oh you can definitely handle Toronto then :)
oh my god i am planing to go visit canada and this is making me cry from hapiness thank you it was so beautiful
Thank you so much. Where are you visiting from?
Algeria =)
@@phelominablume7264 Oh wow, so much warmer eh
In my country, we don't have snow. So snowy winters is beautiful to me, no matter how cold or "brutal." I would die to live in a snowy place.
where r u from?
@@MustDoCanada Hi! Thanks for replying. I'm from the south of the Philippines.
The cold and snow is something to deal with for sure, but people also need to have a way to enjoy the winter like skiing, skating, hockey, etc.
Totally. I think people who hate the winter are those without any hobbies. If you just sit around the house, it's a very long 4-6 months
You people have shared a lot of positivity.
Thank you :)
try to get to Kimberley in the new year. when it's sunny and -10 or warmer, the sun pits on top of the ski hill are a blast. locals dig them out like tiered seating in a stadium and there are sometimes 150+ people from all over the world, sun tanning, live music, moon-shine and beer, and friends you never knew you had. you're only a stranger until you introduce yourself once.
I probably never get to see snow in real-life in my lifetime lol. I live in Bangkok and 30+ is normal here.
haha, yeah no kidding. We were in Bangkok way back in 2012
@@MustDoCanada Do you see yourself living in any other country other than Canada now? Haha or is Canada forever love?
@@gabriellanoelle1606 For raising a family and a long term living plan, I don't think we'd consider somewhere else. But we'd love to live temporarily in other countries at some point.

Awesome! We hope to visit Ireland too one day. matt has ancestry there
Nice video, thank you for sharing the information. I live in Saskatchewan :)
Namaskaar patelji..how about farming potential there for new Permenant resident.
Oh god! I want to live in canada...
Darkness Prevails trust me,I do.
@Darkness Prevails bro yall Canadians are spoiled lol. You guys don't have to deal with Hurricanes, spiders the size of your face and snakes that will kill you in one bite. Winter is a blessing. Take it from a person that lived in a tropical climate for over a decade.
@@johonanandrewgomes7593 in Canada you have to worry aboot rabid dogs and foxs and trust me you don't want to know how fast foxs run when their rabid. And plus you have to worry aboot the snow storms and wolves that harass you all the time when you live alone in a cabin in a frost bitten barrenland that exceeds the temperatures of -70c. Or lower with the wind chill
And trust me a vegan lifestyle won't work down in the north
And bears down here are known to push houses and rock them. And bend literal steel rebar that protects your house I'm inuit and I do this everday

Over 9 metres of total snowfall in Ottawa in winter 2022/2023. The novelty of winter wears of dealing with that much snow!
haha day to day for sure
I love to watch you guys. I really hope you guys make videos more often.

Finally people who don’t hate snow!
The accent of the lady is so cute. 😍
Spanish accent.
She sounds latina
Yes she just said , "in this video" and I knew she was "Latina"... Cool
My fellow Canadians good to see you
Wow! Amazing place with beautiful snow.
Thanks!
To survive winter in Canada you need (if you can) a Canada Goose coat. It will definitely keep you warm. I’ve spent 52 winters in Canada & lived in Montreal for some of those years & commute to work by bus & it definitely is the warmest coat I’ve *ever* worn. It is pricey though. *Also try throwing water in the air & see what happens. Hot water is best, but be careful not to burn yourself!*

Most of us park our cars inside the garage especially when you have an attached one like you do. Don't have to plug in or clean the snow off in the morning. Just a tip. Just kidding good video.
Some houses in north doesn't have garages or old houses in the city also don't have garages

@@kavitansingh2702 Very interesting. Of course, it can be challenging too, especially Delhi!
@@MustDoCanada yes that's my humble request to all foreigners coming to India that please don't go to Delhi unless you have someone you can trust ... otherwise Mumbai is the best place ...eg. Great video! Just one question....what do you guys do if the heater stops working and you suddenly realise that you're freezing cold....and what if it's during the night??....
You'd have to call an emergency "heater guy" to come fix it. It happens all the time to people. I don't think it's happened to us, but we've had issues with our apartment building and someone has to come right away. Pipes start freezing and that sort of thing, which can cause some major issues
@@MustDoCanada woow... that sounds scary, have any such instances resulted in some serious mishappening ?
@@simplyInvent I mean, it hasn't happened to us. But I'm sure there has been stories of pipes bursting, which can cause some damage. But no one gets hurts. That wouldn't happen. Just damage to the home
@@MustDoCanada oh alright, thanks a tonne for the prompt response inspire of being such a big channel ...I love you videos btw even tho I recently discovered your channel. I have some more questions, it'd be really nice of you if you could reply...
How difficult is it for international students from middle East & Asia to adapt to the climate in Canada? Do they tend to fall sick initially?
@@simplyInvent I'm not sure, but my wife was an international student from Mexico. Saw snow for her first time. They all loved it a lot. It was just so different. It was just a small town but they loved being independent and experiencing the snow and nature.... No one got sick.
Salt is for melting snow for when its between -32 and 0 degree celcius
Gravel and sand is for colder days when salt cant melt ice and its for traction: Without it we would have to wear shoes with metal spikes under them otherwise we'd slip constantly and cars would crash all over the place
We use the same stuff for our ice roads up north
Canada: come for the scenery and the people, stay because your car won't start! It's a beautiful place to live!
Thanks for beautiful video about winter in Canada.. you can cover your car by blanket. It makes cleaning more easy from snow..

I presume you do not turn your heating off in the winter. Just curious on how much you spend on gas per month?

Hi Guys, loved the video. We visited BC and Alberta last northern summer. Had a great time in a fantastic truck camper. Here in Australia our winters are never as severe for most of the country. As with Canadians heading far south for your winter we try to head north for ours. Generally anywhere above the Tropic of Capricorn provides a warm to hot winter. Where we live it might get to minus 6C occasionally on a winter’s night. Snow is very rare. A pleasant winter’s day is around 12 to 14 C. Some winter I hear you say! Again thanks for the great video.
Thanks! Glad you liked it. Yeah, we have some family near Perth. They saw some snow once near the mountains there. But that's about it. New Zealand gets a bunch eh?
