5 Star Wars Legends fleets take down Snoke and his The Last Jedi fleet!
Supreme Leader Snoke's fleet in Star Wars The Last Jedi is incredibly formidable, due in no small part to his Supremacy Mega Star Destroyer. Today, we'll look at 5 fleets from Star Wars Legends lore that could take him down. Among those featured are the Operation Shadow Hand fleet of the Reborn Emperor, the Republic's forces at the Battle of Coruscant, and much more!

Well the entire fleet wasn’t destroyed. I’m pretty sure that the supremacy could still function after the hyperspace ram. Besides, this was a fraction of the first orders forces. There were more ships out there

A fleet is powerless with out a competent officer an example snokes fleet led by hux made many strategic errors where if you put Thrawn, Pelion, Peitt, Yularen, Raddus , and Ackbar they could have used a fraction of the fleet to defeat the enemy with no mistakes.
Well, the Forerunners have even better leaders.
One single commander can perfectly coordinate nearly a million km-long capital ships.

What about the Eternal Fleet from SWTOR? It had great number of ships, possibly able to overhelm and even board some of the ships on Snoke fleet.

The same, especially if we take the eternal alliance version with the addition of the gravestone and the remanents of the imperial and republic fleets. And as the eternal fleet has thousands of hugely advanced (even for the Snoke era) destroyer sized warships controled and coordinated perfectly by one commander in real time ... As the gravestone is even more advanced than them and able to take down 10-20 of them in a single shot ...

Probably an issue of outdated tech. First Order ships are basically improved Star Destroyers, and one Star Destroyer can take on a small fleet. So even if the fleet is large, it likely wouldn't have the fire power or shielding to last against improved technology.

Lol... Seriously, that's how they got rid of an ISD... Ramming it after disabling its shields. 200 ships would obliterate Snoke's Armada with ramming.
Also considering it would only take 6000 crew for the entire fleet (Thanks to its slave circuits) It's more than a bargain.
It's 2,000 crew members per ship instead of 16,000. Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruisers had strong hulls, but were slow with weak shields and outdated turbo lasers.
Robert Nelson You need only one crewed ship to do all the ramming ;) slave circuits= remote control which includes its hyperspace systems.
A Dreadnaught is 600 meters long, the Mon Calamari ship used was 3,500 meters long. I think that would make a difference.
Ecks I just realised something about the rebels world between world's episode. They're rewriting the star wars series. What if papiltine and the Jedi order played ignorance, both would have survived, and they would have kept the balance in the force.
Or Palpatine kills Anakin as a child, and trained something else instead. Or kidnapped the two year old Ezra Bridger, and trained him as a Sith...I dont know, this time-travel become something good or really idiotic, for example multiple remakes of the trilogies, with alternate timelines, till the Endtimes...:)

You have to take into account the utter inconpetence of the first orders leaders. Any good tactician would be able to pick apart snokes fleet with a much smaller fleet. Just look at how well the resistance with their slightly less incompetent leaders managed to accomplish.

Thrawn would retreat though if he felt outmatched. I think he would still need quite a few more then 2 capital ships. Have Thrawn with 2 Executor-class Super Star Destroyers and possibly 6 Imperial I and II’s then he would most certainly take that battle. Thrawn wouldn’t waste troops or resources with a chance at defeat. Thrawn probably wouldn’t engage unless he had those within his arsenal.
SWLoreMasterEvan if I was Thrawn, here's what I THINK he would have done.
With two SSDs as capital ships, first recon, get to know the ship layout. And gun emplacement.
Since the MSD probably takes a lot of imperial design, their main weapons will be facing forward.
From there, send the majority of my forces toeet the enemy head on alongside one of the SSDs, however that's just the distraction, hyperspace an interdictor behind it, using the gravity well generator for pinpoint hyperspace the second SSD along with the rest of the fleet behind the MSD.
Go full point black range drive by on the MSD while covering the interdictor to ensure the resurgents don't get away.
Or... Hyperspace ram their ships with X-Wings.

What about the eternal fleet? It consisted of 10 thousands, even more eternal fleet battlecruisers and dozens of eternal fleet flagships. And they were commanded by only the eternal throne which would be at the other side of the galaxy. I hope Drew Karpishyn writes a legend book about the eternal empire because I loved the kotet and kotfe story arc. So disappointed it just released by the time it was made legends.

And UNSC ships are bigger and more heavily armed. 1 MAC cannon could prolly take out any Mass Effect ship in one shot. (Probably)

The Mass Effect Universe consisted of the entire Milky Way Galaxy, the UNSC at its height controlled only a small portion of the Orion Arm. The MACs and nukes would help, but I think they should face only one Mass Effect species at a time. If it was the UNSC and covenant vs Mass effect Universe, that I could understand.

Cool Video, but what about a fleet using the same or similar resources as the First Order? Many of these fleets just won because of their ridiculous size, not because of any technological or tactical advantage. Similar to your video detailing your ideal fleet using any ships but with limited resources, how would you put together a fleet that could destroy the First Order fleet using a similar amount of resources?

The sun crusher going through the Supremacy. The sun crusher is a super weapon from Star Wars Legends that could rip stars apart despite being similar in size to a YT-1300 freighter. It was nearly indestructible too. After numerous attempts at taking the weapon out, it was finally destroyed by being sent into the Maw, an extremely dangerous cluster of black holes that also happened to be where the entity Abeloth was imprisoned several thousand years earlier (Images of her are pure nightmare fuel)
Just 40 hyperspace cable ships and ram them one for each snokes ships, since the last Jedi broke the unwritten/ unspoken rule of not using hyperspace as an wmd (unless it’s the galaxy gun)
And made it so turbolasers, ESPECIALLY those shown in new Canon, utterly obsolete. Hyperspace starfighter sized droid projectiles would be far more powerful.

Just a reminder, no movie source shows rebel ships outside of the falcon, fighters, and the Tantive IV discharging any variety of weapon. Rebel ships are just unarmed fighter carriers with really good shields.

Hey Eckhart, two things. After watching your quick video on the Last Jedi it made me reconsider how i felt about the new saga. I re-watched both episode 7 and 8 and have to say you are pretty spot on about the 8th movie unfortunately... My proposition for videos today are as follows. I would love for you to talk about the in universe science behind a hyperspace ram and if it is indeed possible to ram 1 let alone several ships through hyperspace. My second idea is for a new series. I would love for you to take an iconic "supercapital" ship like the eclipse, give it a small escort fleet and pin it against a fleet that would leave the playing field even. The fleet make up and size would be completely up to you; whatever you feel stands a chance against the super's. I personally would love to see videos like this because they would help me understand the power of these supercapital ships and I have a feeling you would have very interesting fleet composition and dialog.

The MSD itself has 1 and a half million Tie Fighters, 8 hanger that automatically create and repair resurgent class destroyers at a very fast pace, and it self repairs, I'm not that much of a star wars fan, but that seems like a lot, and now that we know Palpatine was snoke, he can just use his lighting storm as In ROS and kill like half their fleet
While The MSD does the rest, and also each resurgent class destroyer had 400 to 500 thousand operators and around 100,000 ships in each destroyer

I know the entire fleet was not destroyed, but it should not have been as effective as it was. Also, the eclipse is an Executor-class dreadnaught, which is more combat-oriented than the Supremacy.
The supremacy may be functioning... But the same couldn't be said about 15+ star destroyers that got shattered by the debris.
That hyperspace ram pretty much broke Star Wars for me. It is sort of like the eagles in Lord of the Rings now it feels like they should be used for everything!
Before watching I just want to say that any competent naval officer would have used a series of mini hyperspace jumps to cut off the Resistance fleet....
but then again no competent naval officer would ever be caught dead in a Rian Johnson directed Disney Star Wars film.

The First Order knew it had won, they were just toying with the cruiser making a show of force. They destroyed the bridge with a few fighters, there were still a good thousand fighters waiting on hold for orders if something happens.

This reinforces why Thrawn, Vader, and any good military leader in *earth* history never "toy" with an enemy in combat.

I imagine the fleet commanded by Thrawn during his rampage, Ole Emperor Vitiates fleet, Palpatine and his big Death Star fleet, an maybe the Jakku battle Republic fleet along with the ones you mentioned ESPECIALLY ANYTHING with a lot of Super Star Destroyers probably could've gave Snoke a proper beat down with sheer force. Coupled with a master strategist admiral like Thrawn, Tarkin or Raddus for example or Akbar had he made it leading.. Snoke wouldn't have had much of a chance

The Eternal Fleet from the SWTOR: Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion pack would have made short work of Snoke's fleet as well. Since according to the depictions there are thousands of cruisers that are each more powerful than a Imperial Harrower class dreadnaught, and according to one of the the in game missions to recruit Yun, you find out that the technology of the Eternal Throne has a powerful Force signature.

I know people tend to not like Kotfe and KoTeT stuff from swtor but the eternal fleet at full might not just the one massive armada. They are stealth cruisers that are smaller faster and a lot more of them each ship packs a lot of forward fire power and boarding pods of advanced sky trooper droids. Then they are commanded by sentient droids that see every aspect of the battle.

A couple of Eclipse SSD battlegroups should be plenty, the Imperial I, IIs and Victory class ships form a buffer to keep the Resurgents away from the Eclipse(s) whilst they poke holes in the Supremacy, then the Resurgents at will.
If Daala is in command, I'd scratch number 2.

I would like to see in Episode 9 a massive space battle between Smoke armada and mix of republic and imperial capitol ships. It would be amazing to see 3-4 Venators vs Resurgent

One will most commonly see hundreds of ships at once. It was able to *hammer* the war-ready fleets of two galactic superpowers simultaneously
