Alexis, kids in your life most likely told you not to fight because they felt you are the only person that would listen. I mean when you're a kid its drilled into you by your parents not to talk back and not to fight with them, so that's probably their little perspective. Not that it was your fault. They knew to tell you not to fight bc they can't stop the adults and probably meant like don't engage, just listen to the adult (like they have to) and not make it a fight. They felt comfortable enough to tell you that without consequence, and probably wanted to protect you as well.

The detail you put into storytime, we can actually visualize what is happening. If you've seen "When a stranger calls" it's so similar to what you experience with the babies. The expectation the Peaches had of you as a child is like, man you do realize I'm a child right?! Just because you go through trauma and have an unfortunate experience with life and constantly have to be on guard doesn't mean that it is okay for Adults to put all this ish on you as a child like what is wrong with them? I hurt for little Lex and all that you had to go through.

Alexis I know EXACTLY what you mean with the OCD and touching stuff a specific number of times or else you feel something bad will happen. Like taking a certain amount of steps or touching the door knob 4 times. I also have a favorite number I tend to touch things that amount of times so that I feel better and less anxious 😭. I just turned 23 and the OCD started for me after something really really traumatic happened to me in Las Vegas when I was like 18 and I’ve had paranoia and OCD ever since. It’s like a switch went off in my brain because one minute I was “normal” and after that traumatic moment happened my brain completely switched! No need to explain or apologize for the OCD but then again if you feel like explaining DO IT mami because I get it 😂! Trust me I feel you, it’s like we have the same exact personality and same childhood experiences. I over explain for that same reason too lol. I wish you and your family the absolute best! I love these story times and to see you grow and prosper 🫶🏽, blessings and besos!
