Pantai Selong Belanak Lombok - Best Beach in South Lombok Indonesia

There are so many beautiful beaches on Lombok Island in Indonesia that it is hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to pick just one beach on Lombok then I would pick Selong Belanak Beach.

Selong Belanak is a beautiful beach with soft white sand covering a broad beach curving around a big bay.
The water along Selong Belanak is a beautiful aquamarine color, clean and clear.
The warungs and the sun beds are along one stretch so you can get something to eat, they're quite reasonably priced, and the food is good. You can also rent out a sunbed or a surfboard along this stretch of beach.
Then you've got an entire half of Selong Belanak beach which is practically empty so you can head out and find a quiet patch of beach and just chill for a bit.
Selong Belanak is good for surfing if you are a beginner like me, the waves are gentle breaking near the shore and it's a sandy beach with no rocks, so if you fall off you just fall off onto the sand and get washed in to the shore.
If you have never heard of Lombok Island then this is what you need to know.
Lombok island is very close to Bali but is less touristy and still has everything you could ever want in a beach, from surfing to snorkelling and nightlife to amazing food.
The airport for Lombok Island is at Kuta (not to be confused with Kuta beach on the neighbouring island of Bali)
There are many beautiful beaches within easy reach of Kuta Lombok.
There are also many beautiful smaller islands between Lombok and Bali including the Gili Islands which will give you an even more secluded holiday.
