It is weird when you do the unexpected in real life. I had a gun pulled on me and I casually looked at it then said, "just shoot me i don't care" he actually took a step back as surprise showed on his face.. I guess no one had ever responded that way before. But I was depressed and doing a lot of drugs and really didn't care if I died. I just say that if you're going to pull a gun on someone, be ready to use it. Don't use a gun solely as a scare tactic because that's just stupid.

I had a change of perspective when I was on my death bed due to my drug use... (Actually, I probably did die, and quantum immortality is more close to the reality we're in but that's a different and deeper conversation) I'm not dealing with suicidal ideation these days. Depressed yes. But I'm not actively trying to will myself to death... Did having the gun pulled on you give you something more to ponder on? Like, what if they would have pulled the trigger? Etc?

At the time it didn't affect me at all, but since the beginning of my hard drug using days at 18 I had a boyfriend who murdered someone for a dealer in exchange for drugs for us so maybe I became desensitized to it, I'm not sure. But those two things happened 19 years ago (the gun) and 24 years ago (the boyfriend.) I have two years clean currently because I'm on the methadone program and even though I'm in a better place I'm still really depressed due to some really bad PTSD and disassociation I acquired after being with my last boyfriend. I've been through some really horrible things that don't happen very often to people but I've learned to keep it to myself because I've been told by therapists and a psychiatrist that it had to be "all in my head." I tried to end my life so many times in so many different ways I've lost count but it's taught me that the human body is extremely resilient and it's very hard to actually unalive yourself. So I don't actively try anymore but I'm basically just waiting to die and hoping something happens to speed that process along. I even had an acquaintance with HIV who gave me some of his blood in a syringe; I shot it up and still didn't get it! Sometimes there's things that'll bring me out of my depression temporarily like going on holiday but the good feeling only lasts for a few weeks after I get back home. I'm also struggling with my ED again after being semi okay for almost a year and a half as it's the only thing I feel I can control in my life. I also feel the smaller I am the less I'll be noticed and the less space I'll take up as I feel I don't deserve to be using oxygen that some other people could use so much more than me, etc. But I'm hanging in there and some days are better than others. Thanks for taking an interest, and I'm glad you're feeling better despite the depression. You seem very kind and I hope things continue to get better for you :)

I had a gun pulled on me and I casually looked at it then said, "just shoot me i don't care" he actually took a step back as surprise showed on his face.. I guess no one had ever responded that way before. But I was depressed and doing a lot of drugs and really didn't care if I died. I just say that if you're going to pull a gun on someone, be ready to use it. Don't use a gun solely as a scare tactic because that's just stupid.

I had a change of perspective when I was on my death bed due to my drug use... (Actually, I probably did die, and quantum immortality is more close to the reality we're in but that's a different and deeper conversation) I'm not dealing with suicidal ideation these days. Depressed yes. But I'm not actively trying to will myself to death... Did having the gun pulled on you give you something more to ponder on? Like, what if they would have pulled the trigger? Etc?

At the time it didn't affect me at all, but since the beginning of my hard drug using days at 18 I had a boyfriend who murdered someone for a dealer in exchange for drugs for us so maybe I became desensitized to it, I'm not sure. But those two things happened 19 years ago (the gun) and 24 years ago (the boyfriend.)
I have two years clean currently because I'm on the methadone program and even though I'm in a better place I'm still really depressed due to some really bad PTSD and disassociation I acquired after being with my last boyfriend. I've been through some really horrible things that don't happen very often to people but I've learned to keep it to myself because I've been told by therapists and a psychiatrist that it had to be "all in my head."
I tried to end my life so many times in so many different ways I've lost count but it's taught me that the human body is extremely resilient and it's very hard to actually unalive yourself.
So I don't actively try anymore but I'm basically just waiting to die and hoping something happens to speed that process along. I even had an acquaintance with HIV who gave me some of his blood in a syringe; I shot it up and still didn't get it!
Sometimes there's things that'll bring me out of my depression temporarily like going on holiday but the good feeling only lasts for a few weeks after I get back home. I'm also struggling with my ED again after being semi okay for almost a year and a half as it's the only thing I feel I can control in my life. I also feel the smaller I am the less I'll be noticed and the less space I'll take up as I feel I don't deserve to be using oxygen that some other people could use so much more than me, etc.
But I'm hanging in there and some days are better than others. Thanks for taking an interest, and I'm glad you're feeling better despite the depression. You seem very kind and I hope things continue to get better for you :)
