Ive lived in both cities for over a decade (10 in calgary and have been living almost 18 years in Edmonton). I love Edmonton but Calgarys a nicer city. Important ways edmonton is better: more affordable housing + U of A is better than U of C (i have degrees from both and thats just my opinion).
@@AvadaKedavra943 Thanks for watching and I hope you got some value out of this! I am slowly getting better (I hope) and will take this feed back and keep improving.
Lived in Edm for decades. Living in Calgary for last few years. -The warm chinook winds that roll into Calgary every few weeks in winter are awesome. They raise the temperature a few degrees and dry up the roads a bit and make our long winters more tolerable - And more corporate jobs in Calgary - A lot of these videos forget to mention the University of Alberta in Edmonton. It’s a very good university and the campus is nice with some old buildings and quads and it feels like a nice university enclave. The University of Calgary is okay but very modern looking, not as vibey as the U of A in Edmonton. So Edmonton would be my pick for a university town. One of my kids wants to attend there, so maybe moving back in a few years!
That is a great question. Both cities have excellent hospitals and also a shortage of nurses. I live in Calgary and know several nurses who have told me AHS (Alberta Health Services) is looking to hire many more given a shortage + growing population
@@Florentine1993 Your welcome! If you would like me to send you some contact info for AHS or a list of hospitals, etc. email or text me and happy to help!
Hey Marouen thanks for watching and also for your comment. Why do you think someone can make more money in Edmonton...I am genuinly curious? In my opinion I agree people can make more money in Alberta (lower taxes, less government interference and greater opportunities). Take care my friend...
I grew up in Edmonton and lived there for 20 years...the weather warms up once in a while but to experience a Chinook need to be Calgary or further south like Lethbridge. Thanks for commenting!
@@FrankPerestaRealEstate I lived in the Edmonton/Red Deer area for 15 years.... I experienced many Chinooks. They don't come as often, the affect is weaker than at Calgary.... But, Edmonton does get Chinooks!!! This is right out of Wikipedia: "Interior Chinooks are most prevalent over southern Alberta in Canada, especially in a belt from Pincher Creek and Crowsnest Pass through Lethbridge, which get 30-35 Chinook days per year, on average. Interior Chinooks become less frequent further south in the United States, and are not as common north of Red Deer, but they can and do occur annually as far north as High Level in northwestern Alberta and Fort St. John in northeastern British Columbia, and as far south as Las Vegas, Nevada, and occasionally to Carlsbad, in eastern New Mexico."

Thanks for sharing Trey! I got my undergrad at the UofA and my grad degree at the UofC and agree on this point also!
Living in Alberta is awesome!
Elevation wise Calgary's almost ya know the Denver of the North mile high
It sure is. A lot of people call Calgary a sister city to Denver!
@@FrankPerestaRealEstate you repeated that line at the end 15 times in a loop…

I totally agree, Calgary is the best!!
Both are awesome...but Calgary is my top choice

Awesome points!
calgary aint that much bigger then edmonton. calgary population 1.6M, Edmonton population 1.5M that including surrounding areas for both cities.
Which cities are more convenient to use public transportation, you can survive without a car or not...
Calgary's train system is larger than Edmonton's...Edmonton also has good transit but mainly bus
Calgary for sure.
i just want to see mountains so Calgary
You can definitely see Mountains from Calgary and even better you are in the mountains in under an hour!!
Calgary is much better it’s near banff and the roads are cleaner
I agree!
Which one is best for nursing career?

Hey either city is great. Good hospitals in both cities. We need more nurses in Alberta.
Don't forget about crime rates
If someone wants to make more money, Edmonton would be better choice.

You change the title to why Calgary is better than Edmonton
Hey Ed, I'm biased and prefer Calgary too
@@FrankPerestaRealEstate well I’m glad somebody picked. Everyone else online tiptoes around the debate
Edmonton always vote left mayor who raise tax
I agree Yi. Unfortunately Calgary did the same and this needs to change!
dah !!
Edmonton most certainly does get Chinooks….
