Hi everyone, In this video I shared that I picked one word for the year 2025 and for me this word is going to be 'simplicity'. I would love to hear your favorite word for the year 2025 too.
I love what you've done with the beadboard in the back of the cabinet! It's always good to create a space where you can be warm and comfortable and that can be a haven while the rest of your home is under construction.
Hi Melissa, thank you and yes I think so too. We need to be able to relax and warm up too, and being able to cook in a nice clean space is also going to be great!
It is so great to see you both so happy. It may be a cold house but you created such a cosy warm atmosphere in the rooms. You truly put your magic touch on it. Hope you feel better now and yes, thrifting helps me too to lift my spirit. :)
Hey, thank you! I thankfully was only feeling sick for one day and yes there is nothing better on a day like that then so good old second hand snooping around;) and I know how amazing the brocantes in France are!
I'm happy for you and the nice start of 2025 you had! The kitchen is metamorphosed (is it correct?)! Running after his tools is a bit annoying; maybe you could have a little suitcase for your favorite and useful ones and take it with you?
Yes, those were my thoughts too! I actually brought some of my tools that I thought I was going to need, but then all the plans changed, and then I needed completely different things, so I think that I need to bring a lot more the next time and I also need to bring them back because now I forgot to take the tools that I brought back to The Netherlands😏
I love your old jars and cabinets and chair and everything about your vintage kitchen. And also how you find the beauty in everything and encourage us to see it, too. The natural light (when it's available) that floods the schoolhouse is just so beautiful. I might welcome the magical frost on the windows if I could also have that much light.
Hi Laura, so glad that you liked it too! Yes the light is amazing on bright days and in the kitchen it is going to be like that too in the future because the windows from the 70s are going to be replaced with windows like I have in my classroom and those are a lot higher and... we are also going to add double doors and more windows! I can't wait! I love light!
…and then she turned a room into the most beautiful kitchen ! , just look at the Wall with the pretty old wallpaper with flowers 😍 one step at a time, and the old School will turn out amazing in you twos hands , no doubt 👏🏼❤️ I would love simplicity in my life , I just need to declutter a lot of old items , and that is not easy when you love to collect 🫣
@ my favorite store is a recycling shop , I often find very cheap but so beautiful coffee sets , bowls for the kitchen , I love to bake , fabrics , cause I dream of sewing some more ! 😆 , furniture, latest it was a seventh table , and a beautiful chair , and my plan is to paint them both 😆 , and I really can’t have more in my very small apartment , my problem is difficulty to get rid of stuff, as I feel it all can be used somehow , so I store it , but sometime I just have to find something to return to the recycling shop 😆 I always say , I don’t have to much , it’s my space that’s to small 🤣. From my teenager years when I start collecting antiques, I have porcelain dolls big and small , old toys , a big collection of pincushion porcelain dolls , old women and children boots with laces , clothes from 1850 , needlepoint bags , old pictures…..I bought many things when I was a teenager , some I manage to sell then , but today it’s not easy to sell as it’s not so IN right now , but I will always love the old items with a history , I wouldn't feel comfortable in modern decor , I’m glad to see other with an old soul 😄
@@Floralee2020 I think the solution is that we will just come shipping at your place the next time in stead of going to the thrift-store haha because it sounds like you have some amazing things! I can imagine that it is hart to get rid of things like that.
Thanks for the video Eva, you can make any space look so beautiful. I look forward to seeing the vintage cabinet finished and decorated . If I were to pick a word for 2025 it would be self love ( sorry I cheated it’s two words 🤣), I am always way too hard and critical of myself, and with difficult people always seem to blame myself for everything…sorry for getting too deep, look forward to all the wonderful progress you and Rogier make to your new home ♥️🇬🇧.
Well, self-love should just be one word because it is so important! I do completely get you because I struggle with the same. Please do not apologize for sharing these things because these are things that matter and I think that a lot of people struggle with this too and I really want the comment section on my channel to be a safe space for everyone to share their thoughts and feelings, so thank you for doing that!
Hey, thank you so much for sharing your word. A safe place to live in and to call your own is so, so important, and I am so glad to hear that you have found that because being without a home is extremely stressful. So happy for you!😘
Love your transformations and am happy that you're enjoying the process albeit in a very cold home! Hopefully, you can insulate those walls and get storm or energy efficient windows (I know how expensive they are) soon. Is your heating working at all? Hugs!
Hey, I'm happy to hear you liked how things turned out;) We will insulate the house for sure and sorting those windows is going to be a 'thing'! There are electric heaters in the house, but we do not use them because they are very old and electricity is very expensive in Sweden, so we just heat the kitchen and the bedroom with two heaters that we brought ourselves. Thank you for taking the time to writing this comment, it really means a lot!

My husband was diagnosed with cancer last February-My word for 2025 is FORTITUDE.
I picked two words for this year - simplify and thrive.

Hey Ineke, thank you and will do!

@@EvasHomeVintageDIY It's not easy to be between 2 houses; and you never have the tool you need ; )
