i met him when i first started playing blue grass on the harmonica in k.c. he is one of the people who helped me catch my groove. you are blessed to of gotten to experience his dynamic live, cherish that.
Jesse Williams he brought so much energy to the group, I saw them heeps in Missouri at the Blue Note, what seems like a lifetime ago. I’ve seen them a Few times in the past 5-8 years and as much as I still love the band, it’s not the same without him. He truly was an integral part to the overall atmosphere of SLR!
Saw these guys in Indianapolis, at The Patio, husband and I did... bought my youngin' a red onsie with the logo on it... tht tot sure looked sharp in his threads and the ol man and I had a heckuva good time discovering this music - live and boogie'n down in Broadripple that night. Damn fine band.
Well the wind it is a-blowin' and I haven’t seen the sun I ain't seen much anything about a month or so Coulda' been much different, yeah, my Momma told me so I never shoulda listened to the things she didn’t know I don't think I'll ever make it home (Swim that muddy water) I don't think I'll ever make it home (To feel the bright sunshine) I don't think I'll ever make it home (Swim that muddy water) I don't think I’ll ever make it home (To feel the bright sunshine) Well, I had a chance to be someone I nevеr been before Took his clothes and wallеt and I left him on the floor I always thought it would be so damn easy to be free Sing myself a different tune, the Man came down on me I don’t think I'll ever make it home (Swim that muddy water) I don’t think I'll ever make it home (To feel the bright sunshine) I don't think I'll ever make it home (Swim that muddy water) I don’t think I'll ever make it home (To feel the bright sunshine) These bars are old and this room is cold and I'm out of cigarettes Sleep is so elusive and my clothes are soakin' wet I think about my sin and as I make my final trek It won't make no difference with that rope around my neck I don't think I'll ever make it home (Swim that muddy water) I don't think I'll ever make it home (To feel the bright sunshine) I don't think I'll ever make it home (Swim that muddy water) I don't think I'll ever make it home (To feel the bright sunshine)
reminds me of that one episode of 90's version felix the cat where they are trying to turn him into hotdogs or something about a meat grinder guy, wait that was a thing yeah.
real music is so hard to find these days..think why this has so little views (obviously no one knows what real music is these days) only people that do either have parents with good taste in music or really old people. Now all you hear is bs nothing compared to these guys =D

these guys are great , i got to see them twice , once with reverend horton heat and once with primus . amazing bass and kazoo playing
How do you forget the electrified car hood?
@@jimvictus the gas tank bass was badass....
Wow... Split Lip and Primus, that had to have been a show to see!!
This band (and especially this song), is what made me realize bluegrass can be good.
GreyRabbitMedia give a listen to john hartford. ;)
Listen to devil makes Three and the Dead South
Already a fan of The Dead South.
You should go older into the bluegrass roots of you have just recently joined the club 🤓
Man I love this song
their shows at The Go Away Garage Gallery in Wichita were AMAZEBALLS
KIRK RUNDSTROM!!! R.i.p
And the winner and still champion of kazooing in a song goes to... *drum roll* SPLIT LIP RAYFIELD
Missing Kirk.

A classy piece of bluegrass. Especially for yours truly, locked up in a psych ward clucking bad off smack. Wish me luck folks..... T.J. Xx
In Emporia, KS Saturday October 4 2014 at the Brickyard !
Paul Wall my old band The Creek Heathens opened up for the Grassacre
R.i.p.
my heros
Well the wind it is a-blowin' and I haven’t seen the sun
I ain't seen much anything about a month or so
Coulda' been much different, yeah, my Momma told me so
I never shoulda listened to the things she didn’t know
I don't think I'll ever make it home
(Swim that muddy water)
I don't think I'll ever make it home
(To feel the bright sunshine)
I don't think I'll ever make it home
(Swim that muddy water)
I don't think I’ll ever make it home
(To feel the bright sunshine)
Well, I had a chance to be someone I nevеr been before
Took his clothes and wallеt and I left him on the floor
I always thought it would be so damn easy to be free
Sing myself a different tune, the Man came down on me
I don’t think I'll ever make it home
(Swim that muddy water)
I don’t think I'll ever make it home
(To feel the bright sunshine)
I don't think I'll ever make it home
(Swim that muddy water)
I don’t think I'll ever make it home
(To feel the bright sunshine)
These bars are old and this room is cold and I'm out of cigarettes
Sleep is so elusive and my clothes are soakin' wet
I think about my sin and as I make my final trek
It won't make no difference with that rope around my neck
I don't think I'll ever make it home
(Swim that muddy water)
I don't think I'll ever make it home
(To feel the bright sunshine)
I don't think I'll ever make it home
(Swim that muddy water)
I don't think I'll ever make it home
(To feel the bright sunshine)
If there is a country video or bluegrass video that isn't on youtube and you'd like to have it be so lemme know I most likely have it..
RIP
2:03 what a great pic of kirk! My favorite SLR tune.
Great ! I got to see them once . I didn’t know who they were before . Fantastic ! They stole the show from Headline Band .
i saw them wit Primus too in Chicago it was so awesome !!
touchofgrey90 split lip with primus?! I gotta know when that happened, surely a festival?
I always refer to Split Lip as the "Slayer of Bluegrass" because they thrash.
39 people have absolutely no taste. Musical greatness
These guys are the soundtrack to my little buddy, the state will give him back to me in five or six. Ain't life a bitch. great tunes though.
great song.
Harry, not only is it a different tune, but Me and My Uncle is by John Phillips, not the Grateful Dead.
Dig it. Wish I could get SLR and Union Station on stage all at once...
Great tune!
sweet
awesome
do you have the pine box boys DVD? if you do, a couple songs from it would be awesome
reminds me of that one episode of 90's version felix the cat where they are trying to turn him into hotdogs or something about a meat grinder guy, wait that was a thing yeah.
has the same tune as "me and my uncle" by Grateful Dead
real music is so hard to find these days..think why this has so little views (obviously no one knows what real music is these days) only people that do either have parents with good taste in music or really old people. Now all you hear is bs nothing compared to these guys =D

reminds me of The Devil Makes Three. holy shit
10X better than DM3. At least when Kirk was around..
Before and better in their prime. Both bad ass.
This is why there’s DMThree. These guys brought real grass to the forefront
Yea i just told my sister kazoos were annoying....but that wasn't to bad
