    I'm an RN. White is usually a routine call. Red is emergency. Green is for RN. Orange is for the CNA or nurses aid. They usually come an associated tone when the light comes on. And some times lights can be flashing too. If you want a more in depth, RUclips "rauland responder 5"

      @@anthonycopter1068 It just means that the patient pressed the call light. Then when a staff answers the call at the nurses station, they ask what they need over a speak phone in the patient room.
      Once the call taker triages the call. They can press a button for the RN (green light) or the nurse's aide (orange).
      If the patient asks for pain medications then that would be an RN task. So the call taker would press the RN button, then the corridor light will flash green. Meaning the need for an RN
      Or for example, if the call taker knows that patient needs like water or bathroom, then the call taker would press the nurse's aide button which turns the light to a flashing orange, or a need for the nurse's aide.

    I just opened my first fa pull station today. The actual alarm that’s coming is similar if not the same one as the one in your profile picture

    Usually the press to call button would sound a chime when the button is pressed (a quick compress/release motion) and the nurse has a separate button they press to reset it

    Usually at a hospital, they have lights that actually flash and make a little “beep” noise every 2-3 seconds, and they’ll change colors as time goes on

    Hello! I have a question. I read some comments on one of your wiring videos, and I found out that you can’t wire voice activated alarms the same way you can with standard ones. When you have the chance, do you think you could make a video on how to do that? I am a big fan of fire alarms and I want to learn how to do it. I understand that you are extremely busy these days, but if you could do the video, that would be great. Thanks!

      Hello! Yes, you are correct. You cannot wire speakers to direct voltage. I have tried it in the past when I was not as experienced with this type of stuff. Direct voltage may damage the speaker. To hook a speaker up to a real fire alarm system, you will need a voice evacuation panel system (which I do not currently own, plus they are really expensive). The way I have gotten my speakers to work is by hooking them up to an amplifier (which in my case is an old stereo reciever that my dad has had for years and years). Then I have the speaker voice messages stored in "Voice Memos" on my iPhone. I have recieved many requests to do a video demonstrating how to wire up a speaker fire alarm, I just have been very time crunched and I just haven't done it yet. Maybe sometime I will do one in the future when I have more time and I maybe get a more updated amplifier that will better help people figure it out. It was great hearing from you, good luck with everything. ;)

    Is youtube not really your thing anymore or do you don't have time for it? If you are busy that is totally fine. I am sure we all understand.

      I have mentioned several times that I have just been really busy with so many things going on in my life (things that are far more important than RUclips and videos). My interest in this kind of stuff has not necssarily gone away, but is has slowly decreased on some level, mostly due to not doing it in awhile. I hope one day soon I can get a video or two out, just not now. :(

    How did you wire the call button that is a doorbell button

    • @firealarmperson4774
      @firealarmperson4774  5 лет назад

      Nope, it does indeed look like a doorbell though. As stated in the video, it is actually an old "push to call" button that came out of the old demolished school that got a whole bunch of other devices from (those videos are on my channel by the way). The button was located in every classroom that the teacher would press to call the main office. I wired it up just like a would to a typical pull station, along with a notification appliance. Good question and thought!
