    Jon Maghini installed these pickups on my '78 P-bass. They sound great! He also put on new pots, which are like butter.

    the pick style is nice, but there's effects, so you really cant get a clear understanding of what the actual pup sounds like by itself. All these pickups are factored off the original fender 63's, but aggies have a more balanced output i hear without too much big boomy lows of the PV63's

    I am not a wealthy person, so expensive Fender or boutique basses are not in my budget. I will be purchasing a Marcus Miller P5, some Labella flats, and replacing the stock pickup with the AG 4p-60. Thanks for the content. It was helpful in making my decision.

    Based on the pick tone, I put this in my 2011 P Deluxe American and love it.

    another reason is because they used to handwound pickups, and some pickups are wound with more coil as it is just impossible to count up to 5000 wounds

    Sounds really good. Looking for a replacement for my 2010 American Std P Bass. I feel the stock P/U's are kinda dull. Looking at these and the Fender 62's or Bill Lawrence P-46's….

      What did you end up going with? I think both the Lawrence and 62's are great (I have the lawrence but am considering the aguilar 60s)

    Too bad they don't make an AG-4P-70 ...

  • @DiogoBaeder
    @DiogoBaeder 8 лет назад

    Hey man, great review! Let me ask you a question: I got an AG-5P-60 pickup (similar to yours, but for 5-string basses) and installed it in a new bass I got from a luthier. However, I'm getting a lot of humming, even with the luthier having reportedly shielded the pickup. Did you also notice any humming in your bass after installing it, or is it silent for you? (Mine hums a lot when I'm not touching the strings.)

    • @deadbeatstudios
      @deadbeatstudios  8 лет назад +2

      Hm, I'm not sure about that. My bass doesn't have that issue, and I'm not really a technician so I don't think I can help. Maybe take it to a tech or call up Aguilar? They're really good with support and will help you out I'm sure!

    • @DiogoBaeder
      @DiogoBaeder 7 лет назад

      Hey man, sorry for the delay! So, in the end it was the luthier that screwed up, he switched the phase of one of the coils, and then insisted in trying to make it work without switching back, then broke the wire and... well, in the end I had to buy another pickup (he basically broke the other one), but then I took the bass to another luthier, and now it sounds beautifully! Took me a few months to sort this out (and some back-and-forth with electrical technicians), but it's finally working. :-)

    • @deadbeatstudios
