Great video. I used it along with three others to educate myself so I could replace the plugs on my Honda Fit. I just finished up a 1/2 hr ago. I have a 2008 Fit GD3 with the L15A1 VTEC engine with four spark plugs. I have 66,065 miles on the odo. I installed NGK Laser Iridium number 1ZFR6k-13 which is one of two plugs the owners manual calls for. The other is Denso. I bought the plugs at AutoZone for $19.49 each. I did NOT use anti-seize compound on the new plug threads because NGK's website specifically says don't use it since the threads are coated. The two ignition coils on the right side are a bit difficult to get at to remove so if you DIY you'll need to be patient and have pretty good dexterity.
Thank you for making this video. I am about to do this with my '08. I liked your methodical approach. Also, unlike many videos, your camera angles were very good which allowed me to pay particular attention to details. I did wonder though, why not replace the plug immediately to avoid having debris enter the cylinder? Upvoted, thanks.
Whatever company made my 5/8" socket did not add enough rubber where it should grip the spark plug tip, so the plug just drops back down into the hole. I created a tool from long doctor's tweezers and a few inches of paper towel taped to the tweezers to pull the plug out.
The white washer got stuck, where does that washer go ? does it come with spark plug or the mounting cover part. All in all the video post is very helpful, it gives me a tip what size of socket to use with the ratchet. Does the set of 4 plugs come with grease to put around each thread? Thanks
@@jordanmiller2131 Yes I know. All civics/jazz's have 4 cylinder engines for this generation. However there were 2 variations of the 1.4 engine. They both had the same block but different heads. One engine was the i-dsi(Dual Spark Igntion) 83ps and the other was the i-Vtec 100ps. The I-dsi, as the name says has 2 spark plugs per cylinder. The head of the engine in this video looks very similar to the I-DSI head. Thats why i asked the question.
Great video! I have a different (but same) problem. I had the cutting out - shorting out behavior for a bit. I noticed the wires that connect to my coils over the spark plug - were probably shorting through the weak plastic covering. Maybe that covering is wearing out. I taped them up with duct tape and it has worked fine for a couple months. I want to get a new wiring set - and cannot find the part number or even the part name anywhere. Can anyone help on this? Is it called the COIL WIRING HARNESS or something like that? I looked through dozens of YT vids, searches online for a diagram with a part name or number. Cannot find anything. Mine is the 2004 Honda Jazz / Fit 1.6 DSI engine with 8 spark plugs (4 cylinders). MANY THANKS FOR ANYONE WHO CAN HELP!
Good video, but very weak sound. You should practice speaking loudly. The Closed-Captions are a mess, too, since the captioner couldn't tell what you were saying.
@@F150fx2sporT These 4 cylinder engines have 2 plugs per cylinder. There are indeed another 4 under the black cover which is part of the air intake. At one stage in your video i can see a pencil coil hiding down there.

Thank you. I was following every step, even when you made the mistake I was like “No, you did that plug already” but you did well and thank you again.
Im about to replace them.. thanks for the video.. it’ll help a lot.. I’ll let you know how it went!
Thank you so much!..I'm gonna try to change my 2008 Honda sport fit spark plugs tomorrow..Lord willing! God bless you 😊👌
Great video! Gives me the confidence to do this myself. Thanks a bunch
Thank you.
Had to change my plugs too. This video was very helpful.

u can do it that way buddy,it ok
Thank you very helpful I appreciate it
This was incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for this video!
Make sure to push down the rubber gasket inside spark plug socket every use. Takes 4 seconds to push down, and saves time in the long run.
detailed video. Thanks for taking the time
Agree!
And, maybe the best part, for no annoying music!

I would have like to see some graphite grease on the plug threads and perhaps silicone grease on the plug cap to cylinder head seals.
What size ratchet and extension do you use ? Btw great video best one on youtube
Emmy &Art 10 mm for the bolts holding down the coil and 5/8ths for the spark plugs. 3/8ths socket. And it was a 3/8th ratchet
Keltic Ride same as the ratchet. 3/8ths. You can’t use a 1/4 extension on a 3/8ths ratchet unless you use an adaptor. Which is more complicated.
Keltic Ride of course 👌🏼
Personally I’d change one plug at a time to avoid getting coil packs mixed up.
They’re pretty much interchangeable but yes that’s good too

Well if you open the cover you will see that you got 4 more spark plagues 😅 if you don’t know,DO NOT TOUCH 😂😂😂
VERY GOOD !
Is this an I-dsi engine? Because if it is you know there's 8 spark plugs. 4 in the back (the ones you changed) and 4 more under the engine cover.
The 2008 has the Vtech which is 4 cylinders

There are 8 spark plugs. When you remove the plastic engine cover you will find another 4.
