in essence, the only real difference apart from the other features is that the pro has rubber tips and ANC the gen 3, doesn't. If the windows laptop is newer, it should work just fine, but don't expect it'll have the same hand-off feature in contrast to using an iPhone and a Mac/iPad 😊
