I've listened to many of his sermons and he had always taught salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, and that this gospel is for EVERYONE whether you are Muslim, Buddhist or whatever religion you practise. Because once you truly believe the Truth, and he ALWAYS preach Jesus is the Truth, the Way and the Life, you will want to live a life pleasing to God and stop whatever you're doing wrong. He wasn't expecting anyone to change until you put your faith in Christ. So stop taking him out of context. Nvm I did my research, I knew Joel was one, I just couldn't believe Billy was one too, so I did my research and heard his take on different things and concluded that he was a false teacher, thank you for posting this comment so that I was able to find out the truth.
Joel did speak truth about Billie Graham. He needs to take the humbleness, and the simplicity he saw in Billie Graham, and apply it to his ministry. Only God knows the true heart of Joel Osteen.
May we not forget that the greatest commandment is to love God with all of our heart and all of our soul and all of our mind and all of our strength and the second is like unto the first and it is to simply love our neighbor as ourselves. As long as we live as though the world revolves around us, it is impossible to see the good in other people. There are so many who are earnestly trying to make a difference. Giving generously to charitable causes, volunteering their time and resources, making great sacrifices, taking the time to speak a word of encouragement to someone who is struggling to find their way through tough times. At the same time there are those who are contentious, fault finders, finger pointers; they are critical, judgemental, condemnatory ready to speak words of hate against any and all who dare to disagree with their man made philosophies. We are all in this thing together. NO ONE GETS OUT OF THIS WORLD ALIVE !!! When we die we'll either go to Heaven above or Hell below. Those are the only options given in the Bible. I went to Joel's meeting when he came to Columbus Ohio. He had to add a day because so many wanted to see him. People were eating & drinking during Worship, he had to go up & explain to the people we were in worship, to please get involved. They didn't know. At the end, he asked how many wanted to receive Christ, about 90% stood up. He prayed a 10-second prayer, told them to go to church & dismissed them. I think if people didn't know what worship was, they are not going to understand his 10 second prayer either. He should hand out something to these people explaining just what they did.
i am a christian from India. Joel osteen has influenced my life like anything. He is a true man of God. Almost everyday i listen to his messages on internet,and i share it with my friends .It helps me a lot. It's not just you. Mr. Osteen is beyond proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus the Messiah - The Way, The Truth, The Life! There is no way to the Father but through the blood of Jesus. Osteen is inclusive. Jesus is exclusive. Osteen will never make that proclamation. It's against his nature & religious practice.
Can't say I ever watched the man, but I gather he is more of a "prosperity gospel" preacher, i.e. God wants success & prosperity for all who believe in Him. Nothing taught about sin, its consequences, the atoning blood of Christ. Jesus Himself said "pick up your cross & follow me", and "you will be persecuted for My Name". Not exactly warm & fuzzy topics. Osteen puts on the continual "smiley facade", which looks fake to me.

Joel Osteen preaches a "prosperity gospel". All Billy Graham cared about was trying to get the message of salvation through Jesus out. Winning lost souls for the kingdom of God. I got to meet Billy Graham in 1980 at his crusade in Las Vegas, NV. I was in the choir and we met backstage. Very friendly and kind man. He lived a modest lifestyle and not into money or fame or worldly possessions unlike many t.v. preachers. Jesus didn't live a lavish lifestyle. He wasn't adorned with jewels and fine robes like all the rich kings. He didn't require a huge lavish palace to talk to people. He was God come in the flesh, in all humility and love to show us how to live and be saved.
Mr Osteen have you ever read Johnathan Edwards sermon ...sinner in the hands of an angry God? You have an incredible platform. Start preaching the full council of God . Preach the Gospell. Jesus talked of hell..7 times in the new testament. His death on the cross saves those who believe , from the wrath of God. Quit telling jokes. And saying you can have your best life now. BELIVERS best life is coming ..heaven. unbelievers worst life is when they die..hell. people come to Christ when the word is preached correctly. The holy spirit can work powerfully in the hearts of men and women when the word of God is preached right. That is how God set it up. Look up the ...great awakening... men like George Whitfield an Johnathan Edwards preached the Gospell to thousands and thousands and thousands were saved. The power is in the word! They were fearless in their preaching. You are in an incredible position to do just that , to be like these great men of God. I don't think you get it . We are talking about lives of many . Whether they spend eternity in heaven or lost forever in the horrible suffering of hell.. this is so sad , you are letting your life ,and lives of many in your audience and your ministry slip away.

He fails to mention that Dr. Graham really called people to repent of their sins and to acknowledge their sins. Its not only God's love that Graham preached but also the fear of God, the salvation from the wrath of God. This speech just makes you see how this preacher is not willing to preach the real Gospel.
He seems very focused on the temporal impact of the things Billy Graham did, rather than the eternal impact. Any preacher worth millions of dollars should take a look at Jesus and His apostles. They were not rich. In fact, the word of God says "where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" and not to store up treasures on earth for yourself, such treasures ultimately perishing, but to store up imperishable treasures in Heaven. I automatically distrust any preacher that is worth millions.

Trust Billy Graham to reach out to Osteen. In his quiet, unassuming way, Billy reached across the miles to assess and share the fullness of his heart to presidents, kings, pastors and all people, great and small. He was and is a true man of God. He shared the love of Jesus in every message; he loved everyone, judged no one. I am unable to be so kind. Osteen makes me very uncomfortable. I cringe each time I see his face on TV or here his voice. The only other one who makes me feel that way is K. Copeland. Be wary of such men! Leave it to Osteen, himself, to reveal the shallowness of his heart as he tries to offer up words on Graham. Osteen, in his own words, true to form, has no message other than the shallow words that spew from his mouth to make trite comments filled with verbiage that shines a beacon of light on his insincerity as a False Teacher.

I went to Joel's meeting when he came to Columbus Ohio. He had to add a day because so many wanted to see him. People were eating & drinking during Worship, he had to go up & explain to the people we were in worship, to please get involved. They didn't know. At the end, he asked how many wanted to receive Christ, about 90% stood up. He prayed a 10-second prayer, told them to go to church & dismissed them. I think if people didn't know what worship was, they are not going to understand his 10 second prayer either. He should hand out something to these people explaining just what they did.

Can't say I ever watched the man, but I gather he is more of a "prosperity gospel" preacher, i.e. God wants success & prosperity for all who believe in Him. Billy Graham preached a very simple, very powerful message. He obviously lived out Jesus's Words to live in peace with all men, as far as possible. For this he gained great respect, and it added great power to his message. His life was not marred by needless bickering. His focus was the Savior of the world.

Joel Osteen preaches a "prosperity gospel". All Billy Graham cared about was trying to get the message of salvation through Jesus out. Winning lost souls for the kingdom of God. I got to meet Billy Graham in 1980 at his crusade in Las Vegas, NV. I was in the choir and we met backstage. Very friendly and kind man. He lived a modest lifestyle and not into money or fame or worldly possessions unlike many t.v. preachers. Jesus didn't live a lavish lifestyle. He wasn't adorned with jewels and fine robes like all the rich kings. He didn't require a huge lavish palace to talk to people. He was God come in the flesh, in all humility and love to show us how to live and be saved.

Jesus talked of hell..7 times in the new testament. His death on the cross saves those who believe , from the wrath of God. Quit telling jokes. And saying you can have your best life now. BELIVERS best life is coming ..heaven. unbelievers worst life is when they die..hell. people come to Christ when the word is preached correctly. The holy spirit can work powerfully in the hearts of men and women when the word of God is preached right. That is how God set it up. Look up the ...great awakening... men like George Whitfield an Johnathan Edwards preached the Gospell to thousands and thousands and thousands were saved. The power is in the word! He preached that the cross is offensive! He preached that sin is a disease that affects the human heart, will and emotions. He fails to mention that Dr. Graham really called people to repent of their sins and to acknowledge their sins. Its not only God's love that Graham preached but also the fear of God, the salvation from the wrath of God. This speech just makes you see how this preacher is not willing to preach the real Gospel.

He seems very focused on the temporal impact of the things Billy Graham did, rather than the eternal impact. Any preacher worth millions of dollars should take a look at Jesus and His apostles. They were not rich. In fact, the word of God says "where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" and not to store up treasures on earth for yourself, such treasures ultimately perishing, but to store up imperishable treasures in Heaven. i wan to say all christian belivers we need to pray for him.because most of his time in childhood Joel spend is in behind the stage and in operating room.i am from india in ministry with my medical studies.i feel this is very hard and tough thing to manage studies,ministry event management behind the stage and camera,and then spend the time in God's presence,in prayer,in worshiping the Lord,meditate the scripture,prepare the Gospel meassage or sermon for thousands of people.its a big challenge.I feel this is what happend with Pastor Joel.we really need to pray for him.because of financial support of Joel Osteen this has been made possible for the establishment of Jesus calls ministry to take the Gospel in all over India with big impact.

Trust Billy Graham to reach out to Osteen. In his quiet, unassuming way, Billy reached across the miles to assess and share the fullness of his heart to presidents, kings, pastors and all people, great and small. He was and is a true man of God. He shared the love of Jesus in every message; he loved everyone, judged no one. I am unable to be so kind.
Osteen makes me very uncomfortable. I cringe each time I see his face on TV or here his voice. The only other one who makes me feel that way is K. Copeland. Be wary of such men! Leave it to Osteen, himself, to reveal the shallowness of his heart as he tries to offer up words on Graham. Osteen, in his own words, true to form, has no message other than the shallow words that spew from his mouth to make trite comments filled with verbiage that shines a beacon of light on his insincerity as a False Teacher.

You need to admit you are preaching “feel good” messages, and encourage people to give (to you) so you can live in a mansion, have fancy cars & a jet!! From what I’ve heard & read, YOU WILL be accountable for the people you’ve led astray from God!
