1983, 37 years ago. A lot has changed since then. I think that it's lower today in the percentage of Americans who believe Hell exists.
The new age doctrine has made people confused. So many ways to get tripped up, yet God never changes and I put all my trust in him. Jesus is the only way.

Had the pleasure of seeing him in louisville and cried the whole time. The glory of God was so present there it was overwhelming. I cant even imagine how heaven is gonna be, i am sure beyond amazing. My heart is full for the love of Jesus.
I came to Christ at age 27. I stood before the congregation and repented of my sins, accepted Lord Jesus as my saviour, and got baptized the following week. After that I got backslidden but I came back to Lord Jesus.
I remember my parents used to watch this on TV in the 80s and early 90s. This preacher was amazing. He says everything we need to hear.

This is a topic that needs to be preached more in churches. People need to realize how much Jesus loves them, that they want to do what it takes to make it to heaven and avoid hell.
No, it's a topic that needs to be consigned to it's mythological past. The notion of hell came from other cultures. Jesus used stories of hell simply to illustrate how bad sin was. Sin doesn't lead to eternal torment, it leads to suffering and misery on earth. The real hell is the one we create around us. Worrying about eternal punishment is ignoring Christs message. Christ taught us to love one another, to serve one another. To put other people ahead of ourselves. Believing something because of the idea of eternal torture is self centred. It's about what God can do for us. But that is not the message, it's about what we do for others. There is no way to accept that a Loving God would condemn people to torment. It's not loving. There is no way a just God would condemn people to eternal torment. The worst people on the planet wouldn't condemn people to eternal torment. The idea that a loving righteous God would makes a mockery of God. Preachers cling on to hell because it is a good tactic to convert people. God isn't interested in converts, God is interested in humanity living in harmony with each other as was intended.

It is a real place and Jesus warned people to turn to him so that they could go to heaven. If you read the Gospels and Revelation, Jesus spoke of hell far more than he did of heaven! Even though I have already come to Christ, I still love Mr. Graham’s messages. I still remember watching him on television when I was about four or five with my baby sitter Eldrid. She was a wonderful Christian woman. When Mr. Graham gave the invitation and people came forward I asked, “ What are they doing?” Eldrid explained that they were giving their lives to Christ.

I wasn't raised as a Christian, so I was never indoctrinated as you put it, and when I was drawn to the faith, I undertook a rigorous investigation into the faith because I didn't want to believe in a delusion. It stands up to intellectual scrutiny - you don't have to abandon your logical mind when you give your life to Jesus. I say this with deep compassion, because there are many who will not spend a joyous eternity with Him because they didn't take seriously the claims Jesus made about Himself. Nor will they experience, in this life, the peace of God which transends all human understanding. He sees you, knows you, loves you and calls you by name. Billy Graham's preaching at Mission England the following year was responsible for my conversion as a fourteen year old. He was a true man of God indeed and now he is experiencing eternal bliss in heaven. I want to enjoy eternity with our Lord and I am English!
As I'm watching this, I wonder how many people that were in that crowd are still here with us and who have left us.
I used to think I could pray and ask for forgiveness and then go on living and committing sin. Now I understand that is not possible. I'm ready now. It truly is the most important call of anyone's life.

I'm a senior citizen in America. Billy Graham was on the radio. When TV was on later in life , we continued to watch him ! He speaks from Gods bible to our ears! He is in heaven with the Lord today! I'm Baptist and believe every word that he has preached all of his life! I was raised to believe ABSENT FROM THE BODY, IN HEAVEN WITH THE LORD. This is one of my favorite Billy Graham sermon, I enjoy listening to it. I can listen to it daily. It gives a real picture of hell and heaven.
I was just thirteen at the time but not yet a Christian (that happened the following year during Mission England). I am English and find the prospect of hell very distressing, especially family members and my best friend going there. When Dr Graham died I was in my late forties (52 in three weeks' time) and am now a Christian of 38 years' standing! Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom!

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with Jesus. Many scenes from my life flashed across the field of my memory; in each of those scenes, I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, but at other times there was only one. This fact filled me with trepidation because I noticed that during the particularly excruciating periods of my life, when I had been suffering from anguish, bereavement, or humiliation, I could see only one set of footprints, so I tearfully said to the Lord, “You promised me, Master, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always; but I have noticed that during the most torturous periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you the most, have you not been there for me?” The Lord replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you in my arms.”
That's a beautiful dream a few months ago I dreamt of flying up diagonally to get away from someone 🙏

I wonder in 2020, how many who went to the Alter are still alive. And better yet, how many are still saved. I pray they are all still saved. R.I.P. Pastor Graham.
I went to the alter at a BG Crusade in 1971, at 10 years old. I’m still saved. As Jesus promised, I have been given eternal life.

None of those are saved and if they didn't get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ born water and spirit they are not in the kingdom of heaven. Billy is in Hell.
