@@idiotsandwich6727 No, it doesn't work like that. The market for hot hatches and sports cars doesn't have to be split up according to which wheels put the power down. Why should it? There's lots of factors that affect car choice. AWD doesn't make a car automatically faster or better. Increased weight and greater drivetrain losses, but greater traction out of corners. VW's Haldex certainly isn't the best system.

Why does the old stig have to do the lap times ? When tiff is just as good , but good to see the old stig doin a bit ,they should merj , saying that they would have to split the takins :) 👍
Think of the running costs of those cars compared tho. But none the less 70k is way to much, id have a type r which is nearly as fast and half the price
I was surprised the mini was only a second of the pace.... and yes it would be nice to redo this with the Yaris GR up against the winner.... given all the hype...
The Megane is a four door car. Renault aren’t going to create a new body in order to delete two doors for their track focused model. That would be flawed.
Does this justify the price tag on the Megane RS I think the Mini has to be the value........would of liked to see Tiff n Stig battle it out for the fastest lap in each car !
In the dry the Megane would be 2+ seconds faster on this short track There is 16 seconds difference in the Nordschleife manufacturer's times between these cars. The Mini has nothing on the Megane. Neither will have the Yaris GR. The limited edition Civic Type R on the other hand is the only front-wheel drive car who will probably beat it because it's much faster on the straight.
Actually the mini is quicker than the megane and the civic in a straight line the reason them cars are quicker on the ring is because they have a much bigger body and cover a bigger area which allows the cars to carry a lot more speed through the high speed bends , on a short twisty track the mini would have the advantage, put a set of carbon ceramic brakes on the mini and I’m sure it would of pulled the 1 second back
yet the Mini is also slower than the previous gen 2014 Trophy-R with 30+ hp and 90 Nm more. That's a significant margin of advantage in straight line and there are enough of straight line full throttle sections to make up on any track if the straight line speed is so much bigger.
Great video. The GP3 hmmm. Not superb on track, jittery and a torque steer on the road...and no manual the tour and cruise. What’s the point really. Disappointing car, could have been so good.
I don't think all that extra thousands of ££££ is worth spending on the Megane just to be just a second quicker on a track. But I guess its because its limited that's why its £71k
Would not use a current mini as a paperweight. The entire range excludes several things that should be on every car, they follow the BMW std kit list there.
