How To Change Center Serving On Bow

  • Center servings seem to be one of the quickest spots to wear. Mine started to separate and my nock fit was getting too tight. I decided to change the center serving to extend the life of these strings instead of a full replacement. Quality string manufacturers can serve the string much better than with a jig but hopefully this helps out to those who are wanting to extend the life of their strings or adjust the serving size to fit a specific nock.
serving tool used is an October Mountain Products Revolution Jig.

Gas strings. I’m not sure how old they are. The bow is a 2000 pse carbon air mach 1. So they could be 4 years old. I either re-serve it or buy a new set.

Man I need to do this on a used bow I just got. I cut off the dloop and it was separated. I’d rather do this than buy a new string. Your method looks the same as Dudley’s.

Go for it! What brand of strings? I’ll be honest factory servings seem to hold up longer than the ones I do. I don’t think I have it fully figured out. -Kyle
