    Awesome video very helpful. One question. After I used the 'disk cleanup', I realize I deleted my downloads folder contents by mistake. How can I recover those files? Is there a free recovery tool u are aware of that u can recommend?. A couple I've tried (e.g. Mini Tool & another one ) offers a 'free' trial, but it is bogus. WIth their free trial, u can run a scan to pull up the items u want to recover. But to actually recover those items & installed back on your 'C' drive, u have to pay up first. :(

    i see that the most memory is taken by your temp files (800+mb),sadely,microsoft hasnt got a button yet to move the win cache and temp to another drive,this would be a great improvement to reduce wear on a SSD drive,too many reads and most certainly writes age your SSD rapidly,i already have my firefox cache in a folder on the D drive
    that way it isnt written to the C drive (SSD),programs (apps) are installed on my C drive for app speed

    Need advice for uninstalling programs, I forgot to uninstall a program the proper way via settings or control panel (It just slips my mind every now and then), and just deleted it manually to the recycle bin. Now, the program is uninstalled, but still appears in my list of apps/programs. Previous windows versions would just remove the entry from the apps list if the installation is no longer present, but it does not do that anymore (Which is lame), and just give me an error or says it failed. Is there a way to remove the entry without re-installing the program, just to uninstall it again the proper way?

    • @alanjipy55
      @alanjipy55 5 лет назад +1

      You could try looking for the uninstaller folder in. Program. files (x86). If that dont work then you probably have to re-install to uninstall.

      I have found the built-in Windows Defender to be sufficient for the past few years with no issues on my primary computer running Windows 10. If you practice safe computing there should be no need for 3rd-party antivirus software. (The antivirus companies hate it when I say that. 😁) We did a video on this topic back in February.

    • @alanjipy55
      @alanjipy55 5 лет назад

      @@BrettInTech You say that you dont need 3rd-party anti-virus software. Well i dont believe in using 3rd-party. Registry cleaners. It's just a money making scam.
      Is cleaning the Windows registry useful? if we just did a little research, we’d come to realize that we base many of our beliefs on false information when it comes to computer performance.
      I’ve fallen into this trap before, and if you have ever used CCleaner, chances are you’ve fallen for it too.
      Removing old registry files of programs we previously un-installed.
      Do we even know how the Windows registry works? Messing with your Windows registry without knowing what you are doing can trigger serious errors that can render Windows inoperable.
      Cleaning up Windows Registry, does not speed up your computer.
      The point is, why bother messing with the registry if those useless registry files do nothing to harm your PC performance in the first place? Running a registry cleaner is essentially a waste of time and runs the risk of only causing more problems.
      Windows is designed to deal with the registry and any potential registry errors. If Microsoft felt that cleaning the registry would help your computer, they probably would have built it into Windows by now. They haven't because the registry doesn't need to be cleaned, despite what others may have told you. Registry keys do not take up enough space for us to even notice them nowadays. I actually have doubts about whether or not there was a computer performance boost from cleaning your registry 10 years ago.
