i dont know what i find more weird in the stage.... that the whale has swalled a giant sky scraper.... or the fact that people living in little homes hanging inside the whale
I never played the game or the level this game from. This sounds like space and metal, something almost psychic. It's really catchy. Kinda makes me think of Earthbound.
I only suggest playing this game if you don’t get tilted at games. It is widely considered to be he hardest 3d platformer which isn’t intended to just be super hard (like getting over it). Seriously, I’ve put over 1000 hours in and I still haven’t beaten the hardest stages without dying
This and World 2's Volcano theme are probably the most intimidating themes in the game. Their themes in the story mode are played pretty early so you get this feeling that it's meant to be easy through the entire game. Seeing these worlds in challenge mode though caught me by surprise as a kid. It's like seeing a scrawny nerd go buff after years of not seeing them.
I also love how we will get to play as the classic version of the monkeys. They better have the original songs to play in Banana Mania, even though I have still could have low hopes for it after Banana Blitz HD.
Still stuck in my head years later from all that time spent trying to beat Arthropod... I think when I finally did beat it, it was by sheer luck, just tilted towards the goal and hope I didn't hit anything!
A61 - Giant Comb: It's so fun (but risky) to just charge head first though this level! A62 - Beehive: Fortunately, you won't get stung here. A63 - Dynamic Maze: Sadly, not one of the more interesting maze levels... A64 - Triangle Holes: At least this level is nice & sturdy. A65 - Launchers: I wonder how many people managed to hit the green goal by sheer accident... E36 - Narrow Peaks: Basically the cousin of Training with a similar gimmick. E37 - Detour: It's quite fun to vault yourself into the green goal with enough practice. E38 - Switch Inferno: RNG at first, then it's honestly kinda boring... E39 - Spiral Bridge: This one's kinda tough; especially the ending part...
It's so particular to heard. You have the bass to emphasize the gigantic arena plus the curious, bizarre sound that match the overall. Two opposite layers that turn out to be not "cringe" as a combo? Inside a whale you discover a hidden city. Being an isolated location, this is getting weirder and creepier. I like the soundtrack.
E41: Serial Jump - That does not look like a stage. But yeah, I just yeet myself to the red goal. E42: Cross Floors - The hardest stage in this set of 10. It's darn hard. E43: Spinning Saw - Why is the starter platform have raised edges like the beginner starting platforms? Was this meant to be a beginner stage? E44: Chipped Pipes - The green goal is easier than the blue, heh. They're both easy. E45: Flat Maze - WHAGHASJGVASGVJGVSGVJASKGVJKVGAJJ WHAT IS THAT MAZE? HOW ARE YOU GONNA DO THAT NORMALLY? Thank GOD it's designed for you to cut corners. E46: Guillotine - This is the last hard stage of expert before moving to expert extra. E47: Corkscrew - Here's a life hack. When you go down, stay on the right the whole time. It works almost every time. E48: Orbiters - Pretty easy late expert stage. E49: Twin Basin - Easy. E50: Air Hockey - Such a terrible last stage for Expert. Warp or Arthropod should have been here.
[Comment about how hard Arthropod is] Nah, Expert 41-50. I know it's actually World 9, but I associate this theme more with levels like Serial Jump, Flat Maze, Spinning Saw, Corkscrew, Guillotine and Cross Floors. World 8 may be harder overall, but these levels were a swift kick in the bollocks right at the end of Expert.
when I was little, It took me 2 weeks to clear it. then I played the remaster last night fearing this level all the way up, struggled a bit at world 3 in some obvious levels, but managed to get though alright, and a few in the whale gave me trouble, both expected, plus a few that caught me off guard (4-2 was pure luck) however when I got up the arthropod, I cleared it in 1 shot using the delayed strat.
if you're talking about Seesaw Bridges, then that's in SMB1 space theme in DX. In 2, all of World 4 is in Boiling Pot. Unless you're talking about the story mode version of it, but don't know the name so you use the DX level difficulty and number.

well, as you can see from the title of the song, the world this song plays in is literally inside a whale's mouth.
@@ZesTofthelemon I'm still wondering how the whale got buildings in his mouth.

Reminds me of the Land of Darkness from the Sonic OVA.

For such a hellish world... ths is seriously dreamy music. Love the Space Colony theme too, for the same reasons.
When it's dark and rainy, I'll play this in my dim room.

@@bluescat581 They do have the original soundtrack, but you need to switch it on
Did anyone else always like trying to risk going fast on giant comb? More likely to hit but saves a lot of time if you make it through
somehow I cleared it last night while getting bonked like 3 times in the second half, half luck and half clench.
The only way I know how

My favorite world of the game. Mostly because of the music. It is like something you when walking inside a mall.
If youre playing Banana Mania, I recommend playing this song during the same level it played in for Monkey Ball 2 on 0.75 speed. Youre welcome 😁
Feels like Pinocchio, Also Sonic OVA Vibes here
