a couple of corrections for the subtitles:
2:00 the city of Rome, as well as all Italy, displays almost miraculous features
2:04 missing sub: I'm not even talking about the beauty of the landscape and of Rome, of Rome's sun and Rome's wind, because it's windy today. it's something unexpected, so I'm very pleased to be here for this interview
3:20 Althusser says his grandparents came to France in '71, but it's unlikely that it was 1971... he must have meant 1871
13:22 you can forgive on your behalf, you can't forgive on other people's behalf
20:50 but he wasn't late. he was speaking for others, not for himself
22:47 the missing sub should be: sorry, could you first tell us why Lenin used to tell this story?
23:52 in italian it's "hanno legato (tie) la mia quercia a un asino", not "ridato" (give back), so the correct version is: they've tied my oak tree to a donkey
Thank you very much. I've added your corrections to the subs. Have a nice day!

This was 6,5 months before he strangled his wife.
What's your point? What does that do to the interview?
ALTHUSSER et tu fais mal. Louis était un véritable colosse
Sascha Harvey perhaps it gives some more background context to his character? Idk
he had psychosis...a terrible accident. your point?
Based
Such a brilliant mind, and his thinking big influence in my life. Love the simple definition of capitalism here: Capitalism is a mode of production where there are - often maximal - economic relationships of exploitation and political relationships of domination. There are also ideological relationships of intimidation or pressure, and of ideological enslavement.
Ich höre sofort "Early Morning Rain" von Gordon Lightfoot hier.
great great man.
What does it mean when he said that he was a social anarchist?
Most anarchists dont have social skills, you know.
@@rucksmiths8454 hqhahahahhaahhahahahahah
Social anarchism, as opposed to individualist or market anarchism.

1.an adherent of the Gallican doctrine.
I thought it sounded like Galician, which might make sense given that he seemed to be talking about a Jesuit.

Is the title correct: Shouldn't it be The Marxism of Crises?
Back before Berlusconi led rai
@@BurntPlaydoh Berlusconi had political involvement back then, yes (he supported the Socialist Party and later became its leader Craxi's protégé), political power, no. public television was still firmly in the hands of 'first republic' parties, which in 1980 essentially meant Christian Democracy and the Communist Party.
no need for subtitles on this one :)

what does he mean by "marxist philosophy doesnt exist"?
Althusser has a complicated relation to philosophy. On one hand, he views dialectical materialism as the philosophy that provides the theoretical work for historical materialism - the science of history. On the other hand he views philosophy itself as an ideological struggle between various petty bourgeoisie "mere phrases" (to quote Marx in the German Ideology). There can be no Marxist philosophy for Althusser because after the revolution there will be no class struggle and therefore no struggle in ideology (i.e. philosophy). "Materialism" itself is perhaps nothing more than a temporarily useful "phrase".
