- Finney (Mason Thames) stands up to The Grabber (Ethan Hawke) & tries to defeat him once & for all in the final scene to The Black Phone (2022).
From The Black Phone (2022): Finney Shaw is a shy but clever 13-year-old boy who's being held in a soundproof basement by a sadistic, masked killer. When a disconnected phone on the wall starts to ring, he soon discovers that he can hear the voices of the murderer's previous victims -- and they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn't happen to Finney.

Next we need a Black Phone prequel called The Grabber with @ethanhawke so we can find out how the kids got kidnapped and killed by the hand of the Grabber. Like a Grabber origin movie. Was he abused by his father?
Can’t wait for BP 2? I hope @scottderrickson returns to direct, write, produce, and especially @masonthamesofficial and @madeleinemcgraw returning as Finney & Gwen Blake (Blake siblings) and of course the one and only Ethan Hawke as The Grabber (I refuse to believe that he was all the way killed by a phone by Finn.)
If the movie focuses on Finn & Gwen’s late mother Mrs. Blake in ghost form, I think Rachel McAdams (who previously worked with Scott in Marvel Studios’ Dr. Strange) would be perfect for the role.
I wonder what would happen in the sequel (BP 2). Would the siblings’ formally abusive father die suddenly from an alcohol poisoning after tearfully apologizing for his treatment?
If the Grabber comes back to kidnap another kid, would Gwen probably sacrifice herself to save her brother so she wouldn’t let anything bad happen to him? She would probably called him in ghost form.
Finally, will Finn and his crush Donna @beccafclarke make out 💋 soon?
If the Black Phone 2 takes place in the early ‘80s, I think they should add the song “Kids In America” by @kimwildeofficial Kim Wilde in the film.
I also think that @paramore should write and perform a song that sounded like it’s from the early ‘80s for this film in my opinion.
Loved how everyone of the ghost kids helped Finny escape in the end. Bruce told him to dig the hole, Billy, told him about the cable to trip him, Robbin taught him how to fight, Vance showed him the freezer with meat to distract the dog, and Griffin gave him the combination to the lock on the storm door.
Yeeees. Their failed attempts combined allowed his freedom. Also, I like to think it free’d their souls from the basement, now they should be able to crossover. I loved this scene!
I forgot who told him about the window gate
@@jeffvasquez9267 It was Billy Showalter (sp) aka The Paperboy.
@@tiarashobe9421 Their souls aren't in the basement. Vinnie has psychic powers as he inherited it from his mum the same way his sister did. Its why the phone didn't ring for the other victims and they were killed. He has supernatural power and a strong arm.
@@tessy28 Not saying that Finney doesn’t have physic powers like his sister and mother but they didn’t really push that narrative in the film. Also when he met The Bully something he said to him made me feel as though their souls may have been trapped and if Finney unalived The Grabber they would all be free…
“Finns arm is mint!” 😭 my favorite line out of the whole movie
Perfect way to end that
It might been a horrific ending for the previous kids that didn't make it.
But they helped Him and he got Away and avenged for them.
At least their souls are at peace now that they were avenged.
@@killer92173 and the parents can bury their kids now 💔😥
Well they get that got the last laugh in the end
@@raven12788They did, right?
I wish they would’ve made it
I love how the Grabber himself became the victim of the supernatural element of the movie instead of the main protagonist. It was nice to see the real villain get what they deserved for a change.
from "it's for you" to finny snapping the grabber's neck...SO FREAKING SATISFYING
I like how The Grabber sunk down into the floor. Really bring in the dramatic effect.
That was Ethan Hawkes idea for the character to go out that way
Good on ethan for thinking of that. ❤
Finally, a horror movie without a bad ending. I’m sick of them,
Nah fr like I get it’s horror but atleast end well
Sick of them? Almost every horror movie for a long time has had a happy ending. I'm just glad this one is realisitic
@@crazydude2o373 for real😩
@@kdb0705 most horror movies I've seen always have a twist bad ending, which ones end happy?
Not a very good either, the kids and teens The Grabber caught were still dead.
The timing of “FINN’S ARM IS MINT!” Had me SCREAMING!
i cant explain how proud i was of finney in this scene and every scene, he was so brave and im so happy he got out alive 😭
Shoutout to the kids for setting this all in motion. They knew the Grabber had to die and not get arrested (which we all knew would happen), so they made sure the sister found their bodies while Finn killed the Grabber.
I loved how this ending fight scene wasn't stupid or over the top, and he had to be smart using what the others gave him. I really felt like he could lose, which a lot a movies don't have that feeling anymore being too easy for the main character, or obvious that they aren't going to lose.
Edit:
Also love how when he got too cocky and telegraphed his punch he got caught.
It was put together very well, but I have to say I’m surprised the kid didn’t use the axe. ALTHOUGH he probably would’ve cut the Grabber’s head off, and that would be the over the top part.
@@shawnharris5682 Lil too much off the top (;
Hehe good one.
What a master piece. Watching this movie gives me hope that the horror thriller genre can be rescued. We need more creative people like these amazing producers, writers and directors. Well done movie and spectacular script. 11 out 10 stars ⭐ 🙌👏👏👏👏
Blumhouse has had some good ones over the past few years, I'm excited to see Megan.
I honestly believe that we are in the second golden age of horror. Since 2018, we got Hereditary, Midsommar, Us, Barbarian, Nope, and this. So far 2023 had a good start with Megan and it has some films im looking forward to
@@ML4451What did you think of M3GAN?
Well this was based on a true story so not much creative value added except for how the kid survived. This movie was based off of serial killer John Wayne Gacy who tortured, sexually assaulted and murdered all American boys from age 14-21. This is why the killer specifically used the name Johnny, it was supposed to hint to that as well as being his actual name in the movie I believe.
"It's for you."
The timing on that line is incredible, so awesome. And the look on that freak's face as he hears his past victims mocking him, knowing that's the last thing he heard, such a satisfying end for this horror villain!
no it was not man
Loved this scene.. very inspiring as to how the young kid stands up to a remorseless sadistic monster... A David-Goliath moment for sure
You noticed that too? We used to watch Davie and Goliath every Saturday morning and seeing Fin and his sister watching it brought back memories!
Now he’s gonna show people what a hiccup can do
Whats worse is real children might be going through a nightmare like this, always stay alert
I love every second of that call. It's what every victim dreams of - your last words becoming theirs.
Really enjoyed how dramatic the kidnapper reacted when they took off his mask lol
Those detectives were literally USELESS!! The whole movie lol
2:40 this is one of the most satisfying scenes in the movie for me
Billy, Griffith, Vance, Robin and Bruce are Very Mad
And Finn is A Hero.
Finn had avenge them. Even for Robin, Finn’s best friend
He had nothing to lose, he was gonna down swinging and he chose to live.
People with nothing to lose are more dangerous
Finn's arm is minttttt 😍 Right after the words the cracking sound of grabbers neck is got me 🔥 Wow, one of the finest horror thriller movie ❤️😱 And Gwen is so sweet 😘
☠️
Watched this movie twice and was impressed by all the performances. Wish I could be in a movie with a great actor like Ethan Hawke
Fin arm is Mint Best line ever
The snap at the end was amazing
This meek little kid turned into a savage at the end fighting for his life..great ending
This is one of the best movies that I've ever seen
Ethan Hawke DESERVED an Oscar nomination.
I don’t believe his character was developed that deep for him to deserve an Oscar, but definitely fine job
Not sure if someone has mentioned this but there is a strong parallel between this movie and Sinister. Both movies have Dead ghost kids helping out kid kill the adult. Except in this movie the ghosts are actually the good guys or the victims. And I find it very crazy that Ethan hawke and James ransone were both on sinister and this movie. This relations seemed to strong that I think one is inspired by the other. This may be a duh moment but I just had to mention that.
It’s like sinisters twin but opposite. Instead of evil ghost trying to kill good adults it’s good ghost trying to kill a bad adult.
It’s the same director so yeah makes sense
I wish to be in a horror movie like this.
But my untalented acting will not disappoint 😂😂😭
Frfr😂😂😂😂
2:57 is the best fcking part of the movie
I knew that robbin will be the last to call. It’s sad :(
I want to see in The Black Phone 2 a kind of past of The Grabber and how he ended up kidnapping children
Agreed
Probably abused, considering there's nothing wrong with his face but when his mask came off he tried to cover it instantly
I was cheering when finney was beating the grabber
Best fight of film history
Okay, thats too much lol
Ok let's not get carried away here lol
@@TheDRODORright like he need to calm down!😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
@@altheadawn2531 right? 😂
Nah bro lol
Getting justice with help from ghosts. Awesome story.
anyone else notice how the grabber covered his face after his mask fell off?
Duh!
I’m so used to seeing ethane hawks as the hero but he plays a great villain too
2:38 fav scene 🖤
Does anyone besides me think that finny wanted to fight his dad in that scene in the kitchen after Gwen got spanked it’s like he finally got to fight his Demon so it’s like he’s fighting his dad while fighting the grabber
Wish the grabber had more of a reaction to the kids talking to him through the phone, like maybe eyes widening, mouth opening in shock. Literally anything but the blank stare he gives the phone.
Why?
He’s being choked what do you want him to do
Finally a horror movie with an intelligent protagonist
Grabber: I told you it doesn't work!
Us viewers: oh yes it does😁
Well done Finn ! You did it!
The Black Phone also needs a prequel (so we can find out how the kids got kidnapped and killed by the hand of The Grabber) and a sequel too. I hope they can also bring back Ethan Hawke’s the Grabber (even though he was killed though. Is there another way to bring him back alive?) also, I hope Mason Thames, Maddy McGraw and Miguel comes back too. We need to figure out how some of the kids got kidnapped and killed by the hand of the Grabber. And will Gwen and Finn’s father die in that movie? Would Gwen sacrifice herself to save her brother? Will Finn and Donna make out 💋❤? I hope Scott Derrickson (who also directed Marvel Studios’ Doctor Stranger) direct and write the sequel to the Black Phone. And also, I hope Universal Pictures 🌎 and Blumhouse come back to distribute it too.
Not everything needs to be a franchise
Disagree on the sequel part, since there's just too many horror movies where the killer is actually alive, reborn, or has copycats. He's a human with no supernatural powers, so I doubt he can unsnap his neck. A prequel might be interesting, but this so far makes for a really good stand-alone film
@@unavela I know, but I think Black Phone 2 and its prequel called The Grabber does in my opinion
Nahh, any prequel or sequel will ruin it.
Damn I wanted to see the part where he sees his sister outside
Superb ending! The icing on the cake would've been Finn getting payback on the redhead who kicked his sister earlier on.
The BEST channel in RUclips 😍😍♥️♥️ I love the Black Phone so much
realy the best channel . bot
The best part of this movie is the ending because the ghost are laughing at him and the way finny kills the grabber is probably the best part of the whole movie
1:47 The grabber sounds like a rabid animal-
It’s weird how the dog just got tied to the wall and then they left it there
He left the dog there so he couldn’t not run away
The dog's purpose was to be tied right in front of the door so Finney had no chance to break free and run upstairs. The Grabber wouldn't have wanted to use the dog to kill Finney because that would have taken the pleasure away from The Grabber killing Finney himself. The Grabber always got pleasure killing the boys himself so the dog was just a tool to use to block the door so Finney couldn't escape.
This was such a good movie! I watched it last night and usually I would be scared but this like the only horror movie (besides scream) that I would watch multiple times
That combo was 🔥
I felt pain in my foot 1:34
Dude, why is Billy the only kid who didn’t taunt the grabber? Lol
Can't wait for Black Phone 2 in 2025. IMDB reflects the 4 main casts will reprise their roles, including the Grabber, who I thought died, but if not, maybe he will be freed from a mental institution, escape the prison, or get revenge as a ghost. Anyway, this is Blumhouse Production, so it must be good.
A prequel would be cool! Do you know similar films with serial killers?
This broke my heart. I know it has a good ending but those boys were so brave, all of them. Broke my heart.
The film industry tends to take a successful film and make sequel after sequel until everyone hates it. This movie could avoid that, except - even though it was a perfectly good death scene, and we heard the Grabber’s neck snap, we never definitively saw that he was dead. Remember he slid face down into whatever was below the floor. And if someone decides to make a sequel, they’re going to jump on that “death” so fast……
I seen the dog was like oh naw 😂
IT GAVE ME CHILLS!!!!
Get him Finney get him get justice for others boyscand your bestfriend
The kids in the movies of horror when destroy his Fear:
I love the whole movie I haven't stopped watching it when we brought it and my parents are getting bored of it but I'm the only one what is watching it
I hope there is a black phone 2
I hope so too
I just watced the movie amd it was really good❤❤
Im 63 , loved the music from my time! The way we used to dress, how we got around on bikes, skateboards and were always outside instead of sitting in front of a video game , phones were actually like the one in the movie! The cords were always tangling up. We respected our parents and the police. And there
were serial killers in S Cal , the hillside strangler and the 1-5 killers so we were never outside without friends! Sad movie though.
The one thing I found annoying was it does not really give the grabber a coherent motive, he indicated that he goes after bad boys, but other then Vance, and kind of Robin they all seemed like normal enough kids, but I guess he could of meant kids from messed up situations, Vance and Robin are fighters, and it indicates that Bruce only lives with his dad, and Finney's mom is dead, and he lives with his abusive alcoholic father. Like in Doctor Sleep it makes it clear the True Knot goes after kids that shine, it does not do that in this one.
i love the story so much best picture
Tbh i would be satisfied to watch this
Mental illness was the real villain here.
This is one of the most satisfying horror movie endings ever.
I’m scared to go outside by myself now.
J’ai tellement aimé cette scène c’était incroyable tout le film étais trop bien j’ai adoré et c’est carrément devenu mon film préféré je vous le recommande
I can't wait for the sequel I really hope ethan comes back and so Does Mason. There is an opening here and many unanswered questions.
So how would the grabber unsnap his neck and come back to life??
@@rodcroft5570 someone explained it in another video I think it's called hangman neck or something. I was confused too until I read about it.
theres never gonna be a sequel it would ruin everything

I 💯% hope we get a Black Phone prequel called The Grabber with Ethan Hawke returning, so we can find out how the kids got kidnapped and killed by the hand of Albert Shaw AKA The Grabber. Like, was he abused by his father? Did he get spranked (similar like Gwen Blake was abused by her own alcoholic father?)
Also I hope Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw both return for the sequel, and especially Ethan Hawke (I still refuse to believe that he was killed all the way though with a phone). I also hope the cast of the ghost returns too.
If the sequel focuses on Finney & Gwen’s late mother Mrs Blake, who also had dreams which Gwen has, I think Rachel McAdams would be a perfect choice as Mrs Susannah Blake as a ghost whenever she called her kids.
I wonder what will happens in the sequel. Like, Will the Blake Siblings’ formally, abusive father died suddenly from an accidental alcohol 🍺 poisoning after when he tearfully, apologized to his kids for his treatment?
If the Grabber returns to kidnap another kid, would Gwen uses her dreams to sacrifice herself to save her brother to prove that she didn’t want anything bad happen to him? (She will probably call him as a ghost with her mother.)
Also, will Finn and his crush Donna make out 💋 and become boyfriend & girlfriend?
I also hope Scott Derrickson can return to direct, write, and produce the sequel Black Phone 2, and a prequel called The Grabber.
If the Black Phone 📞 2 takes place in the early 80s, I hope Kim Wilde’s hit song “Kids In America” is in it.
I also think rock band Paramore should write an original song that sounded like the early 80s based on this movie.
I really like this film but what is mind-boggling is how come the Grabber could hear the disconnected phone? It’s said that he hears it ring and when he is close to dying, he hears the voices from the completely disconnected phone.
I thought that Finney inherited the audible “power” from his mother, while his sister inherited the visions. But by this logic, if the Grabber could hear the disconnected phone, then he’s either just like Finney, or the voices actually were ghosts which then takes away from the split powers theory.
the ghosts used him like a channel
Motivational movie
I think 🧐 💭🤨🤔 the grabber’s is famous why can’t he take it off i mean he took it off when finney tried escape
Finned was just like you gon die
Todo un capo el finnie y todo gracias a los otros niños que lo ayudaron 😎👍

1:59-2:00
FINNS ARM IS MINT
Imagine if Finney ripped off The Grabber's mask and revealed that the man under it was his own FATHER! I think that would've been a crazy twist if Finney found out the psychopathic child killer prowling his neighborhood whom murdered his friends was, in fact, his own abusive and troubled father, Terrence, and The Grabber would be his Mr Hyde-style alter ego. I picture it would make it more intense, emotional and even more messed up and dark having to defeat your own evil father just like what Carrie White did and how his son would first think his father was short-tempered and troubled and then see his true self as a heartless, sadistic, bloodthirsty demon of pure evil with no redemption. Might also explain why Terrence became a WIDOW!!
But that didn’t happen in the short story
2:54
Did 5 of them die?
That poor grabbler. This is abuse against that poor man!
It was the top 🔝 of the mask 😷 was taken off when the boy 👦🏽 escaped
When Fin removed the Grabber’s mask, he freaked out! Meaning his identity is finally exposed. 1:59
