many people are saying that the tigers should be moved back down, when in reality that br range just need some decompression so they aren't fighting t29s and t44-100s.
Although in fairness, the Tiger could’ve fought against T-44s. They were in use by the end of Operation Bagration and the Battle of Berlin, but they weren’t fielded. They were only used in Manchuria during the last months of WWII and were kept a secret until the 1960s when they were already obsolete. Although there are unconfirmed images of T-44s being used against the Hungarian Revolution in 1956.

The real irony though is that Operation Barbarossa might have saved the USSR by cancelling their plans to replace the T-34 with a new tank: the A-44. A cursed tank that probably would have been a lemon of a tank that hinder them had it gone through way before Barbarossa happened.

@@verstappen9937 Tigers tended to be taller than shermans depending on model. AT their tallest the tiger was taller. The Tiger was also consistently slower off road than a sherman. The sherman had vastly better ergonomics as a result of it's design. It's also partially why sherman tankers survived at a much higher rate than any other tank when hit.
The real question isn't top speed because anything can hit a top speed... once. The real question is what speed can you consistently get without wrecking the drive train or the occupants.
Allen Spear and the germans loved the the m4 and one of the things they highlighted was the mobility of the M4 being vastly superior to German tanks. Climbing mountains that german tanks wish they could handle in Italy etc.

Yeah i don’t know about that. I played it after finishing the USSR and USA tech tree and it is atrociously slow. The IS2 is pretty mobile though. That thing has a JUICY reverse gear.

The great irony of this is the in game Abrams is about 20 mph slow on its top speeds. We’ve got governed engine stats when in combat crews would just disable the engine governor to get the extra horsepower and performance from the vehicle.
Even with it it should still be faster than the tiger h1

Here is a dose of reality: M1 Engine - Honeywell AGT1500 multi-fuel turbine engine 1,500 shp (1,120 kW)
Tiger Engine - Maybach HL230 P45 V-12 petrol engine
700 PS (690 hp, 515 kW)
M1 Speed - M1A1, road: 45 mph (72 km/h) (governed);
M1A2, road: 42 mph (67 km/h) (governed); Off-road: 25 mph (40 km/h)
Tiger 1 Speed - 45.4 km/h (28.2 mph) on roads
20-25 km/h (12-16 mph) cross country.
Two other notes, the Tiger 1 speed was when the transmission held up, high speeds were discouraged. The M1 speeds are governed, meaning they could go faster, they are held back mechanically to preserve the tracks, engine, transmission.
This feels like making up a scenario to get mad about.

for real, anyone with half a brain knows that WT stats aren't genuine portrayals of reality. The Tiger 1 topped out around 23mph (38kph), whereas the M1 is good for 42 or 45mph (72kph) depending on whether or not it has the heavy DU armor package, which increases it's weight.

Realism has nothing to do with BRs. Tigers are perfectly fine at 5.7. Problem of WT is uptiers. If anyone complains that 5.7 germany is weak I recommend playing any other nation 5.7 lineup. No other faction is as consistent as germany on that BR. You either get good cannon or good armor or good mobility. German 5.7 has it all at once yet people still complain. Try playing 5.7 jumbo at full uptier and compare it to playing tiger or panther on full uptier and then talk to me about how germany is weak.@@therealspeedwagon1451

@ T-44s are sort of stretching it, but it could’ve been possible. The T-44 was ready and in service by the end of Operation Bagration and could’ve been used in the Battle of Berlin, but they weren’t because the Soviets thought the T-34 was good enough as a medium tank for the time being and so they weren’t used. T-44s were however used in the Soviet’s blitzkrieg across Manchuria though in the last months of WWII. The T-44 as a tank was kept highly classified until the 1960s when it had already become obsolete. There is no evidence that they were given to any other Warsaw Pact nations and the only evidence of them even being used in Europe is unconfirmed photos of them being used to crush the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

An M1A2 will quite happily exceed 40mph if you're willing to repair a track when you inevitably throw it.
Keep in mind: the tiger is about 12 tons _lighter_ than the abrams.

Modern tanks very rarely throw their tracks, it's probably much rarer than how often the Tiger had to have it's transmission rebuilt.
Was in the 24th Mechanized Infantry Division (H) when the Bradleys and Abrahams were first issued. Saw many a crew put on as much speed as they could, no tracks were thrown, though it may be theoretically possible

As a German main, the tiger is at a good BR now, the tiger E does deserve 6.0 just because it has no real cupola weak spot like the H1, what didn’t deserve to be up tiered was the jumbo with the 76mm, the panther D is at a lower BR than the jumbo, has better sloped armor as there’s no hull mg weak spot, and has a better gun than the 76. The 76 jumbo was screwed over as it isn’t even a good tank at a BR of 6.3/6.7, usually getting demolished by any other tank as the cannons of other tanks improve drastically like the high-velocity 88 that the Tiger IIs have

Panther D have extremelly thin turret cheeks that can't be angled. It's a tank that if you don't shot first, you're dead.
No Tiger I deserves 6.0. Their gun can't pen heavy 7.0 tanks, but anything can pen it at those BRs. The only deffense Tiger E will have is it's mobility, wich is really not the best at 7.0.
I'm yet to unlock the Jumbo, but for playing angaist it also should be at 5.7. Very few tanks it faces can pen the cupola. Good players can play around the mg. Great players will hull down and become unstopable. P2W players will buy bushes.

I remember watching a WW2 footage of a Tiger running fast as 30+ somewhere on the eastern front i believe. It was actually impressive to see from a stationary pov when it drove by.

The super reverse saved me a couple of times.
The Tiger II H Sla 16 is an amazing premium to buy if you're a Germany player. The diesel engine has significantly more torque to move the heavy tank around, great reverse, fast turret rotation... long 88. I have 3500+ kills in that tank (actual kills, no x2 included from playing RB)

That Abram's is not moving at top speed but the tiger 1 was still a decently mobile tank for it's time and mist importantly, it's weight. If there was a perfectly ideal situation and if the speed wasn't capped on the vehicle which did happen to some tigers. The terrain eas perfectly flat and everthing, the tiger could keep up with vehicles such as the lighter panzer 3 and 4(there accounts of tigers keeping pace with lighter vehicles to the surprise of literally everyone) and has a similar top speed to the Sherman but the tank rarely went near its top speed as it was even more unreliable in the higher gears and overall perfect situations never happen in war where a vehicle works perfectly in it's intended role, doesn't get destroyed or break down AND is on perfect terrain.
I still dont think we realize how much of a mechanical nightmare the German tanks were to keep them running.

As much as I’d like br decompression at the same time I kinda enjoy encountering the 279 and is7 with my maus lineup. It’s low key thrilling. What I really hate is the random 1950s high explosive artillery that’s in every tech tree next to ww2 vehicles. Ruins any semblance of immersion. The only upside is that it’s easy to get a god mode against a paladin using 155 heat

During some NATO wargames, the Abrams scared the shit out of some Germans with just how fast it was. Also because it sounds more like a jet than a tank due to the type of engine it has.
An Abrams is as fast off-road as a Tiger is on road.
What you don't know is that Abrams' engine was designed by Anselm Franz, the lead designer of the Junkers Jumo 004 which was the turbojet used on the Me 262, he also designed the engine found in the UH-1. You're pitting a German designed engine against a German designed engine here, which the delusional enough German main would thus try to use to secure their position in this argument in some way. (This post was made by a German main who only mains Germany for the memes).

If Im being honest the T29s and t34s should be in 7.3 to 7.7 br especially when there's enough premium versions of the T34 to make a line up. they put the Buffy new tigers 1s in 6.7 br acting like 6.3 wasn't enough

Sure, the Tiger I is more mobile than a lot of people give it credit for, being classed as a Heavy Tank. Especially War Thunder opened my eyes in that regard, when I overtook Shermans and KVs in that thing on the regular.
But never once did I think it's FAST. The others were just slower than I thought all the time. Still not gonna catch a T-34, and DEFINITELY no Abrams (?!?).

I believe 5.7 is the best possible br for the Tiger H1. The problem with it in 5.3 is that it becomes unkillable at 4.3. At 6.0 the contrary is true, anything that sneezes at it kills it.
Yeah tiger H1 and E are in an odd spot. They get down tiered their damn near unkillable. But against anything 5.7+ they get killed immediately
