Bro took one look at that and dipped.
To be fair, that grab does an unholy amount of damage either way. I fought Bayle with like 50ish vigour and good armour and unless I had Golden Vow or Morgotts Great Rune active, the grab would one-shot.
I don't think Bayle the Dread, progenitor of the drakes, traitor to the Dragonlord Placidusax, possessor of the vilest of all hearts, wielder of flame lightning, has dextrous or small enough appendages to wipe the typical Elden Ring player's ass.

I mean, you fight 4 dragons on the generally linear path to get here after fighting 2 ancient dragon men and encountering a Magma Wyrm in a tunnel to get to this general region and a Dragon Priestess outright told you that your mission in coming here is to kill a dragon named Bayle who is the reason Placidusax only has 2 heads.

The “I shouldn’t be here” is actually a smart thing and many Souls players should be like that instead of complaining about an area being hard: if it’s that hard either you have to git gud or you just shouldn’t be there yet, level up and get stronger then come back
But in souls games, leveling up beyond a certain point is useless. You cant do more damage or resist more regardless. The best you can do is get better gear or you just have to git gud.

Boy, you sure showed him. As soon as I found the Scadutree fragment I was like "Well okay, I got something decent from this long trek, sketouttahere.". I didn't go back until I capped on 20 Scadutree Blessings, which I do believe meant finding 50 fragments.

I knew what fight it is but when I went to the gate I was like FKING damnn this boss area is so big. I am going to be spending lot of time here, I spent 2 days like literal actual 2 weekend days non stop going at em, on that boss, I am not bright. it took me a lot to get used his aoes.
bayle is the greatest experience in Elden Ring, i genuinely had a jaw drop and said "WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU----" when he crashes on phase 2.

lol . Same thing happened with me. I was just exploring trying to find that map fragment and I entered the arena. FIRST THOUGHT : It looks so beautiful here. Till I saw the BAYLE and he one shotted me 😅, and lost all my runes. ( I was pretty loaded too😢. It Still hurts 😭)
Judging by his map he also just started the DLC at that point and therefore couldn't have had much more than blessing level 3 or 4. I'm honestly more impressed he got past the dragon fights on the way to Bayle (unless those are skippable, I don't know).

I mean to be fair that was one of the hardest hitting grab moves in the game. If your not actually stacking defensive layers the odds of surviving that even with 60 vigor are low and more vigor than that is the unusual not the norm for a non ng+ run
60ish vigor + dragoncrest greatshield talisman + 30ish endurance. Dlc level was like 2 though. These bosses just hit like a truck lmao (doesn't help that I had those 2 talismans that increase damage taken, I took those off real quick)
@KorotoClips if you had better endurance and armor, you would have survived that move. I did that fight wearing The Armor of Solitude combined with golden bow and the defense boost physic and you will not get one hit by anything. I commented because I've seen so many people complaining about the games difficulty when the game offers you a million tools
Ye, I'm definitely not complaining, I was just poking the boss to see what happens. 😂 I try to do everything just struggler style (no spirits, summons, incantations etc), but I'm definitely not some purist and if I can't be asked to bash my head against the boss, I'll gradually build up buffs until I beat it. DLC's been an absolute blast so far.
The best part is the ghost that takes one look and nopes out of there.
