Remember when people on social media tried to defend this man sobbing over a corporate brand, just because they needed to defend TLJ at all costs?
I think some of it is because they’re streamers or friends with ones, and virtually every popular streamer (or someone trying to make it) has explosive, child-like reactions to keep their teenage audience engaged. This one is probably genuine, but people see a negative response to an extreme reaction and defend because (result wise) they do the same thing.
I have an easier time with people defending The Last Jedi than with people defending whatever it is that this guy is doing..

Luke wasn’t key jangling, it made sense with the story, they just didn’t follow through with it later on. The CGI and voice were fine. It was established how he was there in a previous ep. He doesn’t need to ask what’s going on with the robots, they are obviously evil.
Plus SWtheory has a very specific emotional attachment. Star wars was something that helped him mentally cope with having cancer. It makes sense why he would react so passionately to something that was so close to him during a very harrowing point in his life, especially after watching it go down hill for so long. This guy is literally just a man child.

I’m not gonna lie, I was super hyped when the Revenge of the Sith trailer dropped, but that was the culmination of things people had heard and speculated about for literal decades. The volcano fight, the birth of Luke and Leia, and Palpatine becoming Emperor are one thing, but getting worked up over THIS shit? WTF? What was there to get excited about? Han’s dead, Luke’s dead, Carrie Fisher’s dead, and the new main characters haven’t had a SINGLE adventure together! Hell, Rey didn’t even MEET Poe until the last scene in TLJ! I went to watch Robots with a friend mostly because the movie had a trailer for ROTS. I also bounced up and down in my seat with excitement watching it. So I kinda understand being hyped for something. Brave of him to share his excitement with the world though.

I was a 9yo boy when the original Star Wars was released. People lined up for days and watched it multiple times. No one reacted anything like this. Even at the height of its fame in the early 80's this was not how people, even children, reacted. Ever.

I had an emotional reaction to The Force Awakens trailer. After watching it for the 5th time and connecting the dots that my favorite heroes are going to be on the big screen once more, having one last adventure in the galaxy far, far away. Which turned out to be a fucking lie, for the most part.

The most excited I ever git watching a trailer was for Endgame and wanna know how I expressed that reaction? Stopped my jogging and watched the trailer again for a second time.
The thing was he was panting with excitement before anything even was on screen. It's not like he had that reaction from cool scenes or images.
It's one thing to find so much joy in something that you're reduced to a whimpering pile of tears. It's another to record that, watch it back, and upload it to the internet in the hopes that people won't make fun of you for being a cringey manbaby.
