Enchanted tales is such an underrated series, i still remember enjoying watching these during my childhood! it's ashame it didn't reach its full potential though..

I remember having the DVD as a little girl, and playing the everloving heck out of the Sleeping Beauty portion because Aurora was my favourite princess.
The most nostalgic episode is the one where Aurora got the keys to the kingdom and ruled the kingdom without any experience. The reason is that the song "the keys of the kingdom" is very memorable. I once read that it was originally a film direct sequel to Sleeping Beauty, which was canceled and turned into a Disney Princess series. After the first DVD, they released two more Disney Princess DVDs, which I only know about because all three DVDs were bought for my little sister. In the last DVD there was this song between Belle and Chip which was part of a cut episode (as I remember, the song came after the story where Belle gave the Beast a book for Christmas). And after it was revealed to me that this princess series in question has been forgotten to non-existence, I became sad because my mother sold my sister's DVDs years ago.
Sometime in the mid-2000s, my mother ordered these DVDs for my sister, and there were three of them in total, two of which contained new episodes, but the rest were made up of few episodes of animated Disney series and some clips from Disney sequels. As I recall, the episodes were the story where Ariel meets the deaf mermaid, the episode where Aladdin meets the child sultan, the episode where Jasmine turned into a rat due to a curse, the clip where Mulan teaches some children to fight, the clip where Belle writes a book for the Beast and a clip where Pocahontas tried to adapt to life in London.
I think I actually own a Kingdom of Kindness. It included Aurora throwing a party for Phillip, Jasmine and Aladdin meeting a King whose temper affects the weather, and the Belle finding Chip clip sounds familiar.

I personally own enchanted tales on Amazon prime and I haven’t seen it in forever. I remember always trying to find the Belle version but never found it and found out that a mulan and Cinderella versions were made by your video. This truly unlocked a memory
It wasn’t bad, for Disney’s attempt at a TV series (unlike Cinderella Ii’s TV pilot)- But, John Lasseter’s new order banning Toon Studios from making any more video sequels that directly followed the plot of a theatrical classic without the original makers’ consent pretty well shut down Aurora’s story, and the others (the next episode would have been Belle & Mulan) to follow.
But now that you mentioned the Belle story about chip, I remember watching it when I was a kid. I don't know where... maybe it was on Disney Channel. But I super remember this story with Belle being annoyed at Chip and scolding him haha. They must have relesead somewhere.
The Aurora and Jasmine Enchanted Tales were some of my favorite/most nostalgic Disney DVD’s I had. Like I have the whole “film” memorized lol. I remember trying so hard to find it on Disney plus and RUclips but it’s weirdly hard to find any info on this. So thank you for you video, it completely awakened my nostalgia!
BRO! I LOVED THIS DVD. The songs are so nostalgic for me. I always wondered what the other stories were about because of the opening scene with all the different portraits. Finding out they never existed is honestly a bit of a relief cause now I know I didn't miss out.
*I even liked what they did with Aurora! At least she gained more personality! Princesses don't have to be perfect! They are flawed just like anyone else and this makes us identify with them more*
I remember being a little girl and being so excited for the next Cinderella and Mulan 3, but they never came and I was so disappointed I could never find it in my local Blockbuster, years came by and I accepted it was just something my mind made up since there were so many direct to video sequels and I watched nearly all of them. This video finally answered childhood mystery, thank you so much for your video!
I'm a sucker for this type of stories. I love knowing what happened after the "happily ever after". Seeing them adapt to new scenarios after the stories is oddly satisfying for me
I really wish the Beauty and the Beast segment would get released! It was the first time Angela Lansbury returned as Mrs. Potts since Beauty and the Beast The Enchanted Christmas! After her passing, it’d be wonderful to have her return one last time, even if it’s just in a sequel. Interestingly, Lansbury is back, but O’Hara didn’t return as Belle… weird
O'Hara definitely voices Belle in the Kingdom of Kindness trailer! Though for some reason, she doesn't do the voicework in that song that was released separately. I wonder why?
@@EASJR1991 That's definitely possible. Well, at least it's nice to know that they cast her again to sing as Belle in that "Once Upon a Studio" animation that came out recently.
Is the Mulan one "Working For a Dream"? I find it interesting because that one uses footage from Mulan 2. I don't know if it's because it wasn't animated yet or if this series just recycles from the movies. I've seen the picture with Mulan and Grandma Fa before. Do you know if it's available anywhere or anything about the story?

OMG I have seen this when I was a kid I was in love with Aurora! And till this day, she's my favorite Disney princess. I wish we saw more of Aurora, I was so pumped about this movie when I was a kid! But at the same time it would be so cool if she had her own series or a Disney princess tv series with the old artstlye. I just find it so nostalgic to watch old Disney films... I loved your video!💙
When it comes to "A-tier" people, this is actually more about budget than talent. A lot incredibly talented folks work in these tv animation divisions. Be it writers and artists, they have vastly different timelines and budgets. The animation itself is of a lower quality because it is often farmed out to other studios for a fraction of their feature animation. For the most part, these are different products feature vs. home video/television.
Omg I had the follow your dreams CD!! I can’t believe we were ROBBED of more Mulan & Cinderella content?? Younger me was so upset there weren’t any more
I'm fairly certain i own two copies of it on dvd, i see it almost everytime i go into charity shops. I really hope that one day the release the other ones, they're good little shorts and they show off more of the princesses personalities
I absolutely still have the Enchanted Tales DVD, and I actually enjoyed both stories for what they are. Even back then, I wished they had continued the series, but it did disappear into the void. I always thought it was another casualty from the bigger condemnation of Disney animated sequels, but the bankruptcy theory makes sense. That said, these were certainly a much better way to get Disney Princess content than the live action adaptations that are now all the rage. Sure, they were definitely lower-budget animation and songs and rather fluffy "Disney Junior"-like stories, but they were (and still are) entertaining. I hope some day, Disney rethinks and develops a new way to build off of the Disney Princess stories.
OMG! So happy someone else remember this! I remember getting this DVD for Christmas and it was so sweet! The animation is gorgeous and I was so hoping we were gonna get more! Sadly, that never happened...😭
In order to turn all those bonus Disney and Pixar stories real, a new studio called Disney Storyline Studios ought to be born. It can fill in for the late Disneytoon Studios and not only bring them real, but also learn anime, turn these Disney games; Disney's Villains' Revenge, Finding Nemo: The Continuing Adventures, Cars: The Bonus Continuation of the First Film, Disney Magical World and Disney Magical World 2: Enchanted Edition, Disney Dreamlight Valley and the Kingdom Hearts series real as well as make my concept posters of other Disney films real as well.
I have the Aurora and Jasmine disk! 😅 my sisters and I loved the Princesses and we got the disk from an old video store that went out of business near our house. ( RIP to Family Video.) We thought the episodes were funny and cute. Thanks for bringing these back to my mind. Still own the disk actually all these years later lol. Might have to get it out and give it another watch 😂❤
Disney included promo for Enchanted Tales in some of the DVDs for their other projects. I was introduced to it through my Hannah Montana S1 DVDs and as a lover of Disney, I really wanted to watch it. The promo included snippets of Aurora’s ‘Keys to the Kingdom’ and Jasmine’s ‘Peacock Princess’ (I think those are the titles) and they sounded amazing. Some years later, Disney eventually televised the 2 Enchanted Tales on the channel (in my country at least, don’t know if they did it internationally) and my inner child was so happy, granted I was still a child😅they aired the Tales like once and never mentioned them again. This video unlocked a really great childhood memory🤧
I thought Peacock Princess was a fever dream for a long time, so its nice to know I actually did see that in some sort of movie when I was a kid and it wasn’t a hallucination!
I remember seeing previews for this DvD on other movies I watched from that time. I could have sworn that in the previews for this movie, there was another song where nearly all the Disney princesses were present, singing together. I remember they were singing about wishing on a star, but not much else. I'm convinced this song is a fever dream, as I haven't been able to find it.
I had this DVD as a kid and still have fond memories of it. Little bits of the songs still come to my mind from time to time. I remember enjoying the stories and the many bonus features (I recall a dress up game that really slapped). I didn't realise that it was apparently so rare. I might have to dig the DVD out of my closest and revisit it.
I got excited seeing you talking about this but then I realized this was, not, in fact the 1995 Princess Tales "Jasmine's enhchanted tales" (they also had 2 videos with Ariel) that I loved and watched a million times as a kid. They had good ideas with these types of videos but never went further with them and it's so sad.
I thought there was another Enchanted Tales. I remember watching this Disney Princess straight to DVD thing that featured two new stories and a retelling of another. The two new stories were for Jasmine and Ariel. Jasmine's story pertains her becoming half-snake half-human hybrid, and her going on a quest to fix it. 'Caused by the villain of the story saying that, "LOVE IS WEAK," thinking that with her transformation Aladdin would leave her. I really remember Jasmine's story to a T. Ariel's, I'm little fuzzy on. With her's, she gets a curse that causes seaquakes whenever she laughs. I don't remember how it concluded. The retelling was just the first Cinderella. Now I question, what was this direct to DVD thing if it wasn't Enchanted tales? Update: It was Disney Princess Stories. Specifically, volume 3 "Beauty Shines From Within."
Okay but as a french person, we had something called "contes de princesses" which were 3 dvd showcasing different stories of the Disney princesses. They had a magical pink room where they were all hanging out together, and we could choose which Disney princess story we wanted to see.
I THOUGHT THIS WAS A FEVER DREAM FROM MY CHILDHOOD! I cannot believe that it was actually real, I could hardly find it anywhere even as a child because my library hardly carried anything related to it.
I loved watching Enchanted Tales. Oh no wait. This wasn't what I thought it was. I was thinking of the VHS Jasmine's Enchanted Tales, Ariel's Underwater Adventures & Songs & Stories. Those were good.
i got the dvd because i saw it in the disney princess magazine when i was little and it had me in a chokehold... mostly because i hadn't watched sleeping beauty and aladdin at the time to know what good taste was
I gotta be honest, i think Disney should never give up with these amaizing Stories for the girls, i mean, Disney should have made a Disney princess enchanted tales reboot.
I once brought those Disney Princess DVDs for my niece when she was young. Sadly they sold them when she got older and now I think I should have just kept them at my place so she could view them whenever she wanted. It also hurts more that Disney doesn't want to acknowledge Aladdin the Series, even though those episodes had the best Princess Jasmine moments.
I remember borrowing Enchanted Tales on DVD from the library constantly when I was little. I really wish they continued the series. The music was pretty good and I remember listening to Belle's song over and over again in the bonus features! Sure the stories weren't the best, but it was way better than most of their low quality sequels. They shouldn't have dropped it.
OOO I HAVE THIS DVD AND A LOT OF OTHER OLD DVDS WITH THE PREVIEWS OF IT, AND THE PRINCESS CHRISTMAS STORIES WHERE THEY'D SHOW A DIFFERENT PRINCESS TELLING DIFFERENT STORIES AT RANDOM EVERY TIME U PLAY THE DVD. ME AND MY SIBLINGS WOULD WATCH THEM ALL THE TIME ON LOOP GROWING UP ANDWEI LOVED IT^^
I actually this movie and some other compilation dvd disney princess stuff, (the christmas one for example), in my classroom when I was very little, so I barely remember it before looking them all up on RUclips. So, I'm really hoping Disney brings this stuff back. It'd be great on Disney Plus.
Duuuude. You just bring back so much nostalgia 😭 I miss these episodes. They made me so happy growing up and they were honestly the two things that made me feel closer to both Jasmine and Aurora. Before I watched these i had almost no connection with sleeping beauty. But seeing her in such a kind and caring light made me so happy. And now she’s one of my favorite characters, but I could never explain why because I forgot. And jasmine episode was wonderful. I feel like if they released the things they had from this show it would definitely blow up because a lot of the 2009 and older people are being deprived of hand drawn animation:,)))))
I remember watching this as a young kid, the Ariel stuff was okay I can hardly remember the beast stuff, the Cinderella stuff strongly dissapointed me since she was my favorite at the time, and I feel bad for Jasmine during her segment
I remember something like this but in the 90s on VHS. I remember owning something with Jasmine that had a pink box and was part of "The Princess Collection." They had different ones for different princesses. Sounds like this was a different iteration of a similar thing.
Because of all of that, there came bonus Disney and Pixar stories, as shown in special books about all the original characters in plots with new characters in the same worlds. I would like them all brought to life. Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Magical World and Cinderella II: Dreams Come True are chapter-worthy segment films and resemblant to those stories and Disney Princess Enchanted Tales. What if all the volumes of Disney Princess Enchanted Tales became a complete collection? If they did, all the different royal characters' stories can play together for each one.
You should also discuss those Winnie the Pooh learning DVDs. There was one where Roo learns how to count, and one where the characters learn to write. Another was when they learn shapes, and another was an opposite obstacle course.
That could be a DVD called “Princess Stories”, it has stories from loads of Disney princesses. Were there interactive parts and was the story about Dopey helping Snow White make pies? Anyway I’m in the UK too so I guess that’s like our enchanted tales 😅
Although I don't consider myself a fan of the Disney Princess franchise, I've strangely developed a fascination about the Enchanted Tales series including the other animated shorts that were planned to be released. I think the other stories that feature Belle, Mulan, Cinderella, and the second one with Aurora feel like pieces of lost media, at least in my opinion. Let's hope Disney, at some point, releases these finished animations in some form, maybe on Disney+ ?
I think Disney should make a series with the princesses but live action because different animation. And give the 14 princesses thier own story and they can sell dolls. Here are the actors I would get to play each princess.
And even before the enchanted tales series in the 90's atleast the two VHS tapes I had were from 1993 and 1995, from the Disney princess collection. From what I had they had jasmine, the greatest treasure which features the words enchanted tales. And the other was Ariel wish upon a starfish which was the better one in my opinion, not the easiest to find clips of online but it can be done. I'm so happy someone else also remembered enchanted tales
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention the fact that Princess Aurora’s original voice actress, Mary Costa, hated what was done to the character!

I LOVED Keys to the Kingdom SO MUCH as a kid. I can't believe its such an under-discovered film
It wasn’t bad, for Disney’s attempt at a TV series (unlike Cinderella Ii’s TV pilot)-
But, John Lasseter’s new order banning Toon Studios from making any more video sequels that directly followed the plot of a theatrical classic without the original makers’ consent pretty well shut down Aurora’s story, and the others (the next episode would have been Belle & Mulan) to follow.
Oh my god! I remember this! I think about them every so often...
I feels like a dream that didn't really exist with how hard Disney has buried it.
But now that you mentioned the Belle story about chip, I remember watching it when I was a kid. I don't know where... maybe it was on Disney Channel. But I super remember this story with Belle being annoyed at Chip and scolding him haha. They must have relesead somewhere.
That clip unlocked a hidden memory, I looked up the song and I felt like I was 7 years old again
Same lol as I remember I think I actually saw that and jasmins story and arorars story in a bonus episode lol 😂😅💀☠
That was in I think the third beauty and the beast movie. A Christmas special?
The Aurora and Jasmine Enchanted Tales were some of my favorite/most nostalgic Disney DVD’s I had. Like I have the whole “film” memorized lol. I remember trying so hard to find it on Disney plus and RUclips but it’s weirdly hard to find any info on this. So thank you for you video, it completely awakened my nostalgia!
I watched it 😊
Weirdly enough, I remember this, anyone else also remember the disney princess crossover song "if you can dream?"
YES we used to watch the sing along songs all the time and it was the last song 🎵
I remember that song 🎵🎶
I'm a sucker for this type of stories. I love knowing what happened after the "happily ever after". Seeing them adapt to new scenarios after the stories is oddly satisfying for me
We have the DVD, wish there had been more to release.
I remember watching this as a child on road trips
Am I the only one except for this video who remembers seeing ads for Enchanted Tales in the fall of 2007!!! 🙂🙂🙂
@@whistlewishes2002 I don’t know but I’d like to know why!
@@whistlewishes2002my guess is that her singing voice was too deep by that point for Disney’s liking. O’Hara was about 50 at that point.
@@EASJR1991 That's definitely possible. Well, at least it's nice to know that they cast her again to sing as Belle in that "Once Upon a Studio" animation that came out recently.
its the way i remember watching these when i was younger i just didn't remember where they were from until now omg
The Music Videos for the unreleased Mulan/Cinderella segments is on RUclips
Is the Mulan one "Working For a Dream"? I find it interesting because that one uses footage from Mulan 2. I don't know if it's because it wasn't animated yet or if this series just recycles from the movies. I've seen the picture with Mulan and Grandma Fa before. Do you know if it's available anywhere or anything about the story?
@@robinfa1477 yes mulan’s was “working for a dream”
it was called “Honesty” featuring Cinderella and Mulan, the Mulan story was about grandma fa lying about cri kee being magic,The Cinderella portion followed a storyline of Cinderella preparing for the King’s and the Prince’s return with a special surprise.
Great video btw! I never heard of these, pretty neat how the Sleeping Beauty style was repurposed.
Omg I had the follow your dreams CD!! I can’t believe we were ROBBED of more Mulan & Cinderella content??
Younger me was so upset there weren’t any more
I am so upset about that lol 😡
I have 2 of the CD... back then its not the small CD, but the big black.plate ones... used to watch it almost everyday! I loved it
I'm fairly certain i own two copies of it on dvd, i see it almost everytime i go into charity shops. I really hope that one day the release the other ones, they're good little shorts and they show off more of the princesses personalities
this unlocked so many memories i need to sit down and let them simmer for a while
I absolutely still have the Enchanted Tales DVD, and I actually enjoyed both stories for what they are.
I remember that I had this on dvd I honestly wish they’d add this onto Disney+
I still remember the Enchanted Tales series especially the perseverance one
There was supposed to be a snow white sequel as well which got cancelled
I remember this. Always thought they had released the rest of the series and I somehow missed it.
Enchanted tales was my fav growing up as a lil neurodivergent kid, my favorite Disney movie to watch on loop was the Jasmine and sleeping beauty tape
I never watched these animations, but i love the game and i still have it
i had NO idea this series was cancelled until literally today. i've had the dvd for as long as i can remember and i watched it ALL the time as a kid😭
I thought Peacock Princess was a fever dream for a long time, so its nice to know I actually did see that in some sort of movie when I was a kid and it wasn’t a hallucination!
Redadoodles brought me here 😂
I remember seeing previews for this DvD on other movies I watched from that time. I could have sworn that in the previews for this movie, there was another song where nearly all the Disney princesses were present, singing together. I remember they were singing about wishing on a star, but not much else. I'm convinced this song is a fever dream, as I haven't been able to find it.
This series was fun to watch my fave songs r YOU'LL NEVER LOSE THIS LOVE & PEACOCK PRINCESS
You should also talk about Disney princess collection. It came in a pink VHS case and Jasmines stories were good.
OMG, I have this DVD!
I actually was remembering having the dvd for this when I was like 6 maybe before coming across this video
This is what modern people call a didactic story
Actually those stories are great
Canceled due to people's moral fears
Omg I have this dvd. I grew up watching it 😅.
I've seen this one time on Disney junior and never again after.
i got the dvd because i saw it in the disney princess magazine when i was little and it had me in a chokehold... mostly because i hadn't watched sleeping beauty and aladdin at the time to know what good taste was
I gotta be honest, i think Disney should never give up with these amaizing Stories for the girls, i mean, Disney should have made a Disney princess enchanted tales reboot.
I didnt know this existed untill i was adult and i was excited to see more aurora and when i watched it was ok but more aurora is amazing
ME AND MY SIBLINGS WOULD WATCH THEM ALL THE TIME ON LOOP GROWING UP ANDWEI LOVED IT^^
Keys to the kingdom is a childhood song for me, I love her
I still have these I remember I would watch these on my computer and love these
I actually this movie and some other compilation dvd disney princess stuff, (the christmas one for example), in my classroom when I was very little, so I barely remember it before looking them all up on RUclips. So, I'm really hoping Disney brings this stuff back. It'd be great on Disney Plus.
Get well soon. I wondered what was going on with Disney but so much is happening now. Made it til the end 🙌
I swear I always wondered where the Kingdom of Kindness went! Had no idea there was a Cinderella ep planned :C
I own it! I stumbled across it on Instagram and was thinking the same thing “ what happened to this?”
Yes! I think I remembered this, was there a section for Ariel???
@@vadr0ka I think she had some too, yeah! I feel like there were a few different tapes.
I oddly don't remember these movies and I'm a Disney Renaissance child!!!
I remember watching the aurora one when I was like 6 and never heard from it again
I loved everything about enchanted tales as a kid. I unfortunately can't find my DVD of it.
I vaguely remember a Snow White one of these. I'm in the UK. I wish I could remember better. 😅
That could be a DVD called “Princess Stories”, it has stories from loads of Disney princesses. Were there interactive parts and was the story about Dopey helping Snow White make pies? Anyway I’m in the UK too so I guess that’s like our enchanted tales 😅
OMG WAIT I had this dvd when I was younger and I used to rewatch it sm
I wish we get more Disney princess Enchanted tale movie. I just want to get it more!
I will watch a movie about Disney princess hangout together and have a tea party.
YES
Holy sh!t I had Enchanted Tales on DVD, my grandma gave it to me a long time ago!
