It was a pretty special trip! Did it years ago and would love to do it again sometime. Definitely a slightly different style of canoe tripping in the west compared to Ontario. Thanks for checking it out 👍🙂
Hey this was probably the most scenic canoe trip we have ever done! Can't wait to do it again some day. The axe we were using was a rental and it didn't come with a sheath. Thanks for watching!
Thanks. We are heading out on the loop in late June this year. While we'll complete the loop in fewer days, we still want to take a day or two for layovers. Any spots you can recommend for a layover day? What sites would you have stayed at for two days if you had a chance?
May 2016 I believe, it was an amazing trip. The route is a set loop in Bowron Lake Provincial Park. Everyone is required to start and end at the same access point.
Your video work and outdoor skills are impressive and very enjoyable to watch, may I ask why you have such extended periods of time between filming and publishing your work. Thank you I love B.C. look forward to seeing more of your work.
I love BC too and lived there for a few years. I recorded video on alot of adventures for myself before I started my RUclips channel. After I started the channel I decided to edit footage from some of those past trips. This is the reason why some videos are from so long ago. I'm happy to hear you're enjoying my content, more to come!
About how heavy is that canoe Alec? I'm currently keeping my eyes peeled for one over here in Ireland, a double that I can bring the wife and kid out on but one that wouldn't be to heavy to portage on my own would be perfect!
On this trip we rented a canoe from a local outfitter. We went for the cheapest option which was a heavy fiberglass Yukon model by Clipper Canoes. It weighed about 70lbs and wasn't fun to portage. Thanks for watching!
@@AleconAdventures Addicted now to your videos, no turning back. Getting my outdoor fix by osmosis lol. Ouch that is heavy! I am a complete newbie to canoes but not to boating and fishing/adventuring, been doing that my whole life. Would you say that the Novacraft Prospector 15 weighing in @ 21kg(46lb) would be a good option for a starting soloist who perhaps sometimes takes along the wife from time to time? 46lb seems nice and light compared to the others on offer over here..
@@bethechangeme2233 The Novacraft 15ft prospector is a perfect solo canoe that could also be used tandem for shorter trips. Prospectors are great canoes because they can handle all types of paddling conditions. I paddle a prospector all the time. It's a symmetrical canoe so it won't track as well as some asymmetrical lake paddling canoes but you can paddle it solo by sitting in the bow seat facing backwards.
We did the loop as soon as it opened mid May. We were luck to have such good spring weather and we barely saw anyone else on the loop. That park is pretty close to you, it's definitely worth the drive. Thanks for watching!

Love your videos. You both are great outdoors-people..
Glad you like them! We love being outdoors on backcountry trips. Thanks for watching!
Very nice trip guide, great scenery including big waterfalls and majestic mountains.
Thanks Lisa!
Beautiful. I know where my next trip will be this summer. Great video!
It's an awesome route and I hope to paddle it again someday. Thanks!
Great video, thanks for taking us along
It was a fabulous trip, hopefully I'll make it back someday. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing! On my radar for sure!
I would highly recommend this route! I hope to do it again sometime. Thanks for watching 🙂
What a beautiful place to go on a canoe trip. Awesome laker 🎣. No doubt you missed those Kevlar canoes. Nice work on the videos guys.

Clear water & mountains are an amazing combination. Nice trip !
It's an awesome canoe circuit and I highly recommend it, if ever you're in BC. I can't wait to go back. Thanks for watching!
@@AleconAdventures It is on my list now, when I will get into BC. Might need a month long holiday going to BC. Too many things to see.
Fantastic work as usual Alec!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video. I have been researching paddling trips for 2025 and it is on my short list. This fall we will paddle in the BWCA.
It's one of the best I've been on. A very unique lake loop in the mountains. Thanks
Those are some beautiful views!
It was stunning! Such an incredible canoe route! Thanks for watching
Looks like it was a great trip!
It's one of the best organized canoe loops in Canada.
I did this trip way back in 83 time to go again.
I did my trip in the spring just after the park opened. I want to go back again too and paddle this route in the fall.
You captured some beautiful scenery, thank you for sharing. Just curious why you don't have a mask for your axe? 6:21

Hey sorry we didn't get back to you sooner. We have been busy with a move. Hope your trip was great!
When was this? Date? It looks amazing. And what was the start and stop point?

What time of the year did you do this trip? Living in southern Idaho makes me long for the waters of Canada. The Bowron Loop in BC is not that far!

Ah the mice of McCleary cabin. I guess they are still doing well haha
Haha! Yep, we were just guests in their house.
Canadiens, u are so fortunate to have such perfect country to paddle.
I'm very appreciative and thankful to live in country with so many beautiful places to paddle. Thanks for watching!
That cabin is not nicknamed Mouse City for nothing 🐭
Haha so I've been told! It certainly lives up to its nickname. Thanks for watching!
So what's Canada's gun laws like? I like the scene, but with all the wilderness, I'd like to have my old survival rifle with me.
There are no firearms allowed in Bowron Lake Provincial Park. You are allowed bear spray which I brought along. Thanks for watching!
Only black bears bro, no human beings, so you do not need a gun. We saw a moose. Bear scat here and there . But we carried bear spray
